We start by discussing the overall draft strategy under Chuck Fletcher with the team a perennial playoff contender and their propensity to trade picks for veteran players to fill voids, or to draft players to fill specific spots on the roster. We look at a few instances of players available at the spot the Wild drafted that have performed better than who they selected. We discuss all of this with the caveat that just because a player performed better in one spot that doesn't guarantee success with the Wild.
