A autora, diretora e atriz brasileira Viviane Dias vem despertando o interesse dos estudantes da Universidade Paris 8 com um curso acadêmico dedicado ao teatro brasileiro. A partir de figuras do teatro nacional, das ressonâncias modernistas e de referenciais decoloniais, ela apresenta a inventividade da cena paulista a alunos que pouco conhecem da riqueza cultural do país. Em sua segunda edição, a formação voltou a lotar rapidamente as 40 vagas disponíveis e deve permanecer na grade universitária no próximo ano letivo, fortalecendo o intercâmbio artístico entre o Brasil e a Europa. O curso integra o Departamento de Artes, Filosofia e Estética da Universidade Paris 8 e reúne estudantes de teatro, cinema, artes plásticas e filosofia. Para Viviane Dias, a iniciativa surgiu do desejo de apresentar aos jovens franceses outras referências para além do repertório europeu tradicional.  “A gente fala das invenções do Teatro de São Paulo, das invenções de linguagem”, explica. “Fazemos um caminho que começa desde o modernismo, nesse primeiro momento em que se buscou uma arte emancipada da Europa. Em que foram formuladas questões mais próprias da cultura brasileira. Seguimos até o momento em que essas ideias acabaram se materializando na cena por meio do José Celso e do Teatro Oficina, que é uma grande referência, e que oferecem uma cena completamente diferente do que eles estão habituados a ver.”  Segundo a professora, muitos alunos buscam o curso justamente porque sentem “saturação” de referências tradicionais e precisam de novos estímulos. “Normalmente, eles vêm de formações muito logocêntricas. Tento deslocar um pouquinho essa percepção”, conta.  Perspectiva decolonial e o ensino do Sul Global  A professora ressalta que compreender melhor a produção do Sul Global é fundamental para jovens que, no futuro, atuarão em novas cenas culturais da Europa. Nesse sentido, autores como o contemporâneo Ailton Krenak, o modernista Oswald de Andrade e artistas como Tarsila do Amaral têm gerado grande interesse entre os estudantes. “Eles têm poucas referências sobre o Brasil, e quando têm, é muito raso, às vezes o clichê do Brasil, do carnaval”, afirma. “É importante falar do Brasil e mostrar que a gente é ótimo para fazer festa, mas a gente também é excelente em fazer teatro, cinema e artes visuais.  Além disso, a gente produz pensamento, que é muito interessante e pode nos ajudar a pensar melhor o século 21”, afirma Viviane Dias. Alunos veem o curso como abertura de horizontes  Entre os inscritos está Kayij Baku‑Carlos, de 18 anos, estudante de Cinema e francês de origem angolana. Ele considera essencial compreender outras tradições artísticas para construir sua identidade profissional. “Aqui na França, muitas vezes, quando aprendemos História na escola recebemos, inevitavelmente, um ponto de vista mais eurocêntrico e francocêntrico”, diz.  “Na universidade, somos expostos a diferentes percursos culturais ligados à arte de vários países. Preciso ampliar meu olhar e entender como esse trabalho é feito em outros lugares. Como sou angolano por parte de pai, pensei que o curso poderia me ajudar a compreender melhor uma parte da minha cultura e da minha herança lusófona, de um país PALOP”, conclui o jovem.  Para Ryod Caldas, de 19 anos, estudante de Teatro, o impacto é semelhante: “Quase nunca vemos o que acontece fora do nosso próprio país. Geralmente ouvimos falar de Shakespeare e dramaturgos europeus. Explorar outras referências amplia nossa visão e nossas inspirações”.  A única brasileira da turma, Mayara Marçal, de 25 anos, destaca a importância de mostrar à universidade que há interesse por temas ligados ao Brasil e a outros continentes.  “Aqui a gente costuma estudar muito autores franceses. Quando vi que tinha um curso na grade curricular ministrado por uma professora brasileira, um curso de descolonização do teatro, eu achei incrível! É uma forma de mostrar para a universidade que a gente se interessa por professores de outros países, por aulas que falem sobre arte de outros continentes, não só da França”. Um curso em Paris e São Paulo ao mesmo tempo  O alcance do trabalho fez com que a formação chamasse a atenção da pós-graduação em Artes Cênicas da USP. Com isso, o curso será oferecido simultaneamente na Universidade Paris 8 e na ECA‑USP, em parceria com o professor Ferdinando Martins – algo inédito, segundo Viviane.  “É a primeira vez que um curso dedicado às invenções cênicas brasileiras contemporâneas é oferecido ao mesmo tempo em uma universidade parisiense e na USP”, afirma.  Para ela, essa articulação reflete um espírito do século 21 de ampliação de caminhos possíveis e inovadores para a educação. “Vivemos entre mundos e espaços, mas ainda somos muito caretas na nossa maneira de pensar processos pedagógicos. Espero que eu possa fazer mais pontes entre as coisas do Brasil e daqui. Eu também faço uma pesquisa de criação. Eu sou uma artista e pesquisadora. As duas coisas são importantes e andam juntas na minha vida”, conclui Viviane Dias.

Antes mesmo de começar sua residência artística na Ópera de Paris e se tornar a primeira mulher brasileira a integrar a academia da prestigiada instituição, em setembro, Lorena Pires, 25 anos, estreou no palco da tradicional Ópera Bastilha, no recital "Mélodies françaises et Melodias Brasileiras", apresentado na quarta-feira (9). Ela cantou Villa-Lobos ao lado de outros artistas que levaram o público parisiense pela primeira vez a um concerto contendo obras de compositores brasileiros. Luiza Ramos, de Paris “É o sonho de qualquer cantor estar na Ópera de Paris. Eu cantei Villa-Lobos, Nepomuceno e terminei com a Bachianas Brasileiras. O público recebeu muito calorosamente”, contou ela.Além de Lorena, dois brasileiros membros da Academia da Ópera de Paris, Ramon Theobald (pianista e maestro) e Luis Felipe (baixo-barítono), além da cantora lírica brasileira Juliana Kreling, participaram do recital "Mélodies françaises et Melodias Brasileiras".“Acho que ainda não caiu minha ficha, parece que foi coisa da minha cabeça”, disse a jovem à RFI após a apresentação que faz parte da Temporada França-Brasil 2025. Ela voltou a se apresentar em Paris na sexta-feira (11), em um concerto na Embaixada do Brasil.Lorena retorna agora ao Espírito Santo para se preparar para outra etapa: uma residência artística inédita de dois anos na Ópera de Paris, que começa em setembro.Pioneira na Academia da Ópera de ParisLorena detalha que realizou dois processos diferentes, mas explica que uma oportunidade conectou a outra. Em agosto do ano passado, ela participou de uma seleção para cantar neste concerto da Temporada França-Brasil 2025 e passou. Com isso, ela veio a primeira vez a Paris em dezembro de 2024 para fazer aulas e ensaios no âmbito do projeto de intercâmbio entre os dois países.Diante desta oportunidade, concorreu presencialmente em audições para integrar a tradicional Academia da Ópera de Paris. A instituição, que todos os anos abre vagas para jovens talentos de todo o mundo, informou em fevereiro deste ano que a jovem capixaba havia conquistado a desejada vaga para se profissionalizar na Academia francesa.  Leia tambémConheça os destaques da programação oficial do Ano do Brasil na França em 2025Lorena se formou ano passado em Canto Erudito na Faculdade de Música do Espírito Santo (Fames) e sempre morou com os pais. Ela revela grande entusiasmo em mudar-se para a "Cidade Luz" com um contrato que permitirá seu aperfeiçoamento como cantora, sendo a primeira mulher brasileira a frequentar a Academia da Ópera de Paris. “Eu acho que é um privilégio muito grande, mas uma responsabilidade muito grande também”, acredita.“Eu nunca me imaginei nessa posição de ir na frente e ser exemplo para outras pessoas. Eu recebo mensagens de cantores dizendo: ‘eu quero a mesma coisa que você', ‘como você está conseguindo?', ‘você me inspira', mas eu nunca pensei em estar nessa posição. Até hoje eu tenho as minhas referências e eu agora me vejo sendo referência para pessoas da minha idade e pessoas que se parecem comigo, o que é muito surreal”, aponta a jovem.   Origens, preconceito e religiosidade Lorena descreve sua raiz familiar como muito simples e que “nunca foi algo possível e imaginável” para seus pais chegar até uma instituição internacional para ser cantora lírica. “Até hoje não consigo acreditar que tudo isso está acontecendo, ainda mais vindo da família que eu venho”, enfatiza a soprano, filha de costureira e motorista de ônibus, natural de Vitória (ES), mas com raízes de sua ancestralidade nos quilombos do sul da Bahia, estado natal de seu pai.Lorena admite que sofreu preconceitos por suas origens na sua trajetória musical, enfrentou racismo, intolerância religiosa e chegou a ter vergonha de falar que seu sonho era ser cantora quando mais nova. Mas sua religiosidade, sua determinação e seu talento a fizeram perseverar e ultrapassar os obstáculos.“Está todo o mundo muito feliz lá no Brasil, todos queriam estar aqui, estou com saudades da família, da minha mãe e do meu pai. Todos os dias eu acordo e agradeço por estar aqui, pois não foi fácil chegar em um local desses (...). Eu acho que ter consciência de quem sou me forma quem eu sou enquanto cantora e, para mim, a questão da espiritualidade é muito forte”, diz ela.Carreira, sonhos e sincronicidadeA soprano começou a cantar com 16 anos, mas só em 2018 se encantou pelo canto erudito. Ela descreve que pulou o caminho comum aos cantores de fora do eixo Rio-São Paulo, que seria morar em uma das capitais para se desenvolver na carreira nacionalmente. O diferencial dela foi vencer concursos de destaque que a ajudaram a ter visibilidade na sua área.Para ela, o concurso Joaquina Lapinha, em São Paulo, porta que a permitiu se apresentar no Teatro Municipal no Estado paulista, foi o mais importante da sua carreira até agora.“O Joaquina Lapinha que ganhei em 2023 foi o concurso que me deu visibilidade, é um concurso voltado para cantores pretos, pardos e indígenas. Eu fiquei em primeiro lugar, com 23 anos, e fui uma das vencedoras mais novas (...). Esse concurso foi um divisor de águas, a partir dele eu conheci vários cantores e brasileiros que sempre admirei e as coisas foram se desenrolando”, explica Lorena que chegou a fazer naquela época uma primeira seleção para cantar no concerto da Ópera Bastilha de quarta-feira da Temporada França-Brasil 2025.“Eu sabia que eu queria ir para fora do país, mas nunca tive o sonho de vir para a Ópera de Paris. Mas antes do concurso eu pesquisei sobre Maria D'Aparecida. Logo depois, no concurso [Joaquina Lapinha], o prêmio que eu ganhei, levava o nome dela”, diz.Lorena destaca a coincidência fazendo referência à cantora que foi a primeira cantora e mulher negra brasileira a se apresentar na Ópera de Paris, em 1966. Também de origem simples, Maria D'Aparecida sofreu racismo no Brasil e morou em Paris até sua morte, em 2017.“Para mim é muito forte isso, pois eu estava escrevendo sobre essa mulher e conheci muitas pessoas através da pesquisa sobre ela. É uma sincronicidade muito forte. Eu não brinco com o destino não!”, relata, bem humorada.“Infelizmente para viver de [cantar] ópera no Brasil é completamente impossível. No Brasil não temos uma estrutura sólida. A cultura no Brasil fica sempre numa corda bamba”, lamenta a jovem cantora lírica.
