Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched eight solid innings, Max Muncy hit a Grand Slam, and Gavin Lux homered and drove in two runs to power the LA Dodgers past the Miami Marlins 8-2 in Los Angeles.Jazz Chisolm, Jr. led off the game with a solo home run for the Marlins, but Yamamoto silenced Miami's bats from there, allowing only a second solo homer, this one off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz in the sixth inning.The ferocious Dodgers lineup chased young Marlins starter Edward Cabrera, scoring four runs on just one hit in two innings. Jesus Sanchez drove in Luis Arraez with a bullet down the left field line in the bottom of the tenth inning, leading the Miami Marlins past the Colorado Rockies 5-4 and finishing off their first sweep of the season in the battle for the basement in the National League. The Marlins (9-24) hadn't won two in a row yet this season, and they did it in spectacular fashion, with two walkoff wins that delighted Marlins fans who had been starving for some wins. Sanchez also hit a sacrifice fly. Dane Myers hit a walk-off RBI single off Jalen Beeks, scoring Bryan De La Cruz in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Miami Marlins a thrilling comeback win over the Colorado Rockies at Loan Depot Park.Ryan McMahon had doubled in Sean Bouchard in the top of the tenth inning to give the Colorado Rockies over the Miami Marlins 6-5. McMahon had three hits and two RBI's on the day.The Marlins scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, erasing a 5-0 deficit before stranding runners on second and third base to end the rally. Vidal Brujan- who had two hits and a run scored- led off the bottom of the ninth with a single, just the fourth hit of the night for Miami. Luis Arraez added an RBI single in the ninth, chasing Feltner, Dane Myers hit a pinch-hit two-run single. Josh Bell singled to load the bases to set the stage for Jesus Sanchez, who was benched last night. Sanchez was hit by a pitch to drive in a run and get them to within one. Emmanuel Rivera hit a sacrifice fly to tie it at 5, but Christian Bethancourt flew out to the wall with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, ending a five run rally and sending the game to extra innings.The lowly Rockies (7-22) came into town and beat the Miami Marlins – in the opener of this three-game series The Marlins (7-24) have lost eight games in a row.Rockies' starter Ryan Feltner dominated the Marlins for eight innings before getting knocked out of the game in the ninth. Feltner was 1-2 with a 5.68 ERA. He had allowed 18 runs on 34 hits in 25 starts- until today.Elehuris Montero's three-run home run in the first inning opened up a 5-0 lead, and the Rockies never looked back from there. Justin Beck added two hits apiece for Colorado, but the Rockies weren't able to add any insurance runs, and that ultimately helped cost them the game.The two teams play game two of their three-game series tomorrow in Miami, with first pitch set for 6:10pm. Dakota Hudson will start for the Rockies. Travis d'Arnaud homered for the 5th time in his last 8 at-bats, a two-run shot off the foul pole to spark a three-run third inning, and that would be all Bryce Elder needed to lead the Atlanta Braves past the Miami Marlins 3-0 on Monday in Atlanta. The Marlins got to Elder right away, with back-to-back singles from Luis Arraez and Bryan De La Cruz and a double from Jazz Chisholm, Jr., to start the game, but Arraez was thrown out at home plate on Chisolm's double, then Josh Bell and Jesus Sanchez each flew out to end the threat. From there, the Marlins scattered seven hits but weren't able to get that one big hit that would lead to a big inning. Ryan Weathers pitched very well for Miami, allowing three earned runs- all in the 4th- in 5 2/3 innings. Weathers gave up six hits and walked three, three and two of which came in that fourth inning. The Marlins still haven't won two games in a row this season.
