JDNB Premiere - You Heard It Here First! This week we showcase Conrad Subs forthcoming EP on Murky Digital Whats that lurking deep inside, festering away and ready to take hold...? Murky Digital presents Widowmaker, the latest release from veteran producer Conrad Subs. Known for smashing many styles, Conrad Subs has racked up stellar releases on Symmetry, Dread, Soulvent, Liondub and many more, with Widowmaker marking his third solo EP on Murky Digital. Fans of the label's dark and underground soundscape will delight at this latest twisted offering. 'Dormant' kicks off Widowmaker. Weightless pad arrangements introduce the track, setting an ominous atmosphere like a misty fog coalescing on still-air hilltops. The gloomy sounds of the intro eventually give way to the verse. Here, rolling percussion sets a continuous vibe while foundation-shaking bass tones rumble and contort. 'Causing Danger' is up next. Bugged-out synths descend from the speaker in the intro, and after a brief vocal sample, the tune heats up. Here, the low-end is like an avalanche. Seismic in proportion and gritty in sound, it's paired off with militantly rhythmic drum lines: the two combining to create a rugged roller built to make bodies move. 'Widowmaker' opens with a staccato synth. It warbles in pitch, eventually expanding in scope and bringing every facet of the brain alive. Elsewhere, 'Nasty Shit' opens with eerie flute riffs and driving percussion before throbbing bass tones fall from the speaker like an avalanche. They continue to distort, eventually reaching a lava-thick fever pitch. 'Aftermath' closes the record. Steely rhythm lines provide the anchor, while monumental bass tones give the tune a galloping feel as though the sonics are on an odyssey from the speakers. Widowmaker will arrive to Juno Download and Spotify on 19th August, landing on all digital platforms a week later on 26th August.

Welcome Sita Romero to The TufFish Show, a place to help writers and aspiring authors get out of their own way to leave a legacy by telling the stories they want to share through writing their own books and confidently sharing them with others. The writing process can be tough and the business side can feel scary, but TufFish makes both feel smoother and achievable. Visit https://www.jennifermilius.com/tuffish to learn more. Sita and I had a wonderful conversation about how to finish writing your book. Getting started can be easy and so much fun when you're inspired and the ideas seem to flow, and when you're approaching the finish line, you see the light at the end of the tunnel and that helps carry you through. It's working through the murky middle that is the challenge, and Sita shared so much wisdom on how to work through the middle, finish your first draft, and how to refine and improve that draft into a manuscript. Sita Romero received her MFA in creative writing from Queens University of Charlotte. Her work has been published in print and online literary journals. Before writing full-time, Sita worked in women's health for 15 years. She grew up in Florida and now lives in Virginia. Her debut upmarket contemporary fiction novel, Words We Cannot Say, released April 19, 2022. Visit - https://sitaromero.com/ Book purchase link: Words We Cannot Say

"It just magically happens behind the scenes. We improved sleep by around 30%, increased deep sleep on average 10%, and for those in the fitness space — 49% of our customers — they see a 10% improvement in HRV, which equals to being six years younger after using the pod." - Matteo Franceschetti How is the sleep industry being disrupted and repositioned as a health prevention industry? Why is Eight Sleep the first company to use dynamic temperatures in a mattress? What is a sleep pod, and what can it tell users about their health? What types of sleep are best for mental and physical recovery? Can sleep be more efficient? Can sleep debt ever truly be made up? What can be done today to improve sleep quality? How can leaders maintain lightning-quick iteration? In what ways can organizations support high-performing teams? Improve Sleep. Save Lives. What if your bed collected more health data than an MRI? What if six hours of sleep felt like eight? What if you could increase your performance simply by changing your mattress? The average person spends 1/3 of their life — that's 27 years — in bed. 236,520 hours working to repair the physical and mental body. So why has this fundamental function gone practically unchanged for 1,000 years? Can good sleep be harnessed to fuel human potential? Athlete-turned-entrepreneur and CEO of Eight Sleep Matteo Franceschetti created a smart mattress that does just that. After years of successful clinical trials and 70 million hours of sleep data analyzed, his company's products analyze biometrics in real-time and adjust temperature accordingly. The result: waking up 40% less during the night. Today, Matteo shares his insights on why good sleep is critical for business leaders and how anyone can improve their sleep quality. He walks us through building a team focused on high performance, maintaining velocity as a leader, and how organizations can support recovery. Peak Performance Eat healthy. Exercise often. Sleep well. These are the building blocks of a well-lived personal and professional life. Yet, we often act against our interests: staying up the extra hour to finish the brief, rising early to groggily tweak the presentation just one more time, somehow believing that by cutting into sleep we are increasing productivity. But it is more quality sleep that's essential to success — making us sharper, energized, and more effective. To test this, Matteo suggests adding one hour to your sleep every night for a week. After seven nights you'll have gained a full night back. Note your performance during and after that week. Go to eightsleep.com and enter code "CRISP" at checkout for an additional $50 off the Pod Pro or Pod Pro Cover. Key Takeaways: Everyday athletes. Matteo's team performs like an elite team in the playoffs. Fast-paced and self-aware, they strive for excellence and understand when to take a break. Obsessed with maximizing potential without burning out, the organization proactively supports time off for recovery. Simplify. At the end of the day, the job of a leader is to simplify, provide direction, and maintain momentum. Does the team have at least 80 percent confidence that a task will get done on time? If the answer is no, then there is an addressable problem. Murky timelines and unidentified blockers can spell disaster. Velocity wins. A startup's singular competitive advantage is speed. Larger organizations and law firms have more money, people, assets, institutional knowledge, and brand awareness. Move faster than the competition before they are aware of what you have discovered, and you will beat them. The Cincinnati Bengals placed the franchise tag on star FS Jessie Bates, however, he hasn't signed the tag and per reports, he has no intentions of participating in OTA's and Training Camp until he gets a long-term deal. The Bengals and Bates have until July 15th to come to an agreement which is the deadline for teams to reach agreements with their franchise-tagged players. Will Cincinnati be able to extend their star safety? Will Jessie Bates be traded before the season or could he potentially sit out the 2022 NFL season? Many people have concerns about the New England Patriots offense going into the upcoming season, with long-time OC Josh McDaniels departing for the HC job in Las Vegas the Patriots have yet to name his replacement. Coming off a great rookie season the Patriots are expecting QB Mac Jones to take a big leap in his second season, and his play will be a large factor in how well the New England offense will perform and how successful the team will be overall. Last season was Steelers OC Matt Canada's first year calling plays for Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Steelers offense struggled to sustain drives and generate big averaging 4.8 yards per play which ranked 28th worse in the NFL last year. Despite the lackluster showing, the Steelers have a good core of skill players that could lead them to success this season such as their two Pro Bowl selections WR Diontae Johnson and RB Najee Harris. They also brought in former first-round pick Mitchell Trubisky and drafted Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and both will compete for the starting QB job. The biggest concern for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense is how improved will the offensive line be this season as it will largely impact how much the offense improves this year. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jtsports/support
