Alain senses that something is wrong back at the Bar K, Roland doesn't seem to care. What he is sense is Jonas destroying and defiling everything and killing their carrier pigeons. Then on finding the defilement there is a massive explosion between Cuthbert and Roland that nearly comes to blows and the words are brutal. After leaving Cuthbert runs into Sheemie coming back down Cöos hill. In this Book Club Tadd and Peter go through all of Chapter 2 and the first 3 subchapters of Chapter 3. We follow the Ka-Tet on Blaine to the Fall of the Hounds as Blaine changes over to battery powe, Blaine makes an All in the Family mistake, Jake's hand is no longer hurting, Eddie is "zonin' out" and Roland is out of Riddles and everything Jake has is answered promptly. Eventually Detta Walker makes her return and solves the riddle (with Jake's help) and they board Blaine the Mono and they begin moving. He joins Tadd and Peter in Palaver covering the San Diego Comic-Con news including Beryl Evans' book signing as well as Anthony Breznican's interview with Idris Elba where he gets the answer the the question about the accent that Roland will speak with, along with some insight into the thought behind bringing Roland to life, as well as Idris confirms that the film has officially wrapped and now enters post-production. The Palaver also talks about the Sombra App and the Tet-Corp website. There is also audio from the George RR Martin interview of Stephen King from the New Mexico End of Watch tour, including some talk of what might change in the Dark Tower series if ever revised. In this episode Tadd and Peter read the first few emails then tackle some book topics like; what (if any) Mid-World speech has worked into your everyday vocabulary, what is each of the Ka-Tet's best moment in the books, what is each of the Tet's lowest moment in each book, and how have the boy's views on the series changed on subsequent read-throughs, as well as talk a tiny bit about the adaptation and if a certain villainous character can be removed from the adaptation in total. As well give some details about the first of the Book Club episodes which starts next episode with the beginning of The Gunslinger.
