In Episode 80 of The Cheat Code, titled "You Can, But Will YOU?" we kick things off with a shoutout to our incredible supporters, urging them to grab our exclusive merch and coffee mugs—one for themselves and one for a friend. It's a great way to share the love!   Shifting gears, we delve into the fascinating world of Momagers. Rari highlights the growing trend of mothers taking on executive roles in their kids' careers, while Wendy reflects on the days when parents used to plead with her to dissuade their children from pursuing a career in the arts. We discuss the essential roles parents should play in nurturing and managing their kids' careers, emphasizing the need to understand the music business and commit to the journey.   Our conversation leads us to the topic of learning, where we debunk the notion that learning through authority or coercion is effective. We confront a stark reality—options are scarce, and only a select few are willing to work to become champions. The secret? Mastering the art of turning moments into more moments is a skill that megastar artists have honed to perfection.   Reflecting on the past, when the "work records" mentality prevailed, we marvel at today's wealth of resources. Artists now compete with fellow musicians and with books, shows, gaming, and various platforms. We explore why many artists perceive social media posting as fruitless labor and reveal the transformative power of monetization. Once accounts are approved for monetization, a world of perks and unlocked features awaits.  getthecheatcode@gmail.com

In this episode, we wanted to chat about everything it means to manage a household, but with heavy hearts, we kicked-off the conversation sharing frustrations about the state of our world and continued racial inequality. This conversation then led naturally into one aspect of motherhood... raising kind human beings who get to start their experiences in life as part of our homes, and in our cases, as loving siblings (for the most part)! While this pre-recorded topic is light-hearted, we've decided to add it to our podcast platforms without social media promotion. It is currently June 2nd, 2020 and June 1st-7th we're muted in solidarity with the black lives matter movement. A cause we standby, listen and learn from daily, and donate to. These momagers are muted, but not silent. #BLM

Not to mention, this is on top of our daily chores and responsibilities!Intentional or not, most of us have morphed into MOMAGERS and that is where the concept of EMOTIONAL LABOUR comes into play.  So, what is emotional labour and how do we tackle it? Motherhood in Hollywood

I saw a documentary a few years ago about an apartment complex in LA that caters to showbiz kids. It was called "The Hollywood Complex." Basically these families come from all over the world to live there for a few months and hope their kids "make it" during pilot season.  Few do. Most don't. Talent Manager Wendy Alayne Wright What's fascinating to me about this phenomenon is the powerful pull of Hollywood. Anyone in this industry has felt it at some point. And we pack up, leave our family in Oklahoma to pursue our dreams.  But I was a grown ass adult when I  made that decision.  How does a little kid know what their dream is and where to pursue it? How do parents decide to take that leap of faith in their child's talent? And honestly, how do you know if your child is really ready for the reality of Hollywood? These are just a few of the questions I couldn't wait to ask Youth Talent Manager Wendy Alane Wright. Then I forgot all about those questions and asked her things about myself. Kidding! She stopped by to share with me her passion for helping kids make their dreams come true, and what it really takes for a child actor to make it in Hollywood.  I also asked her about "Momagers" ala Kris Jenner, and how to tell the good ones from the bad ones. And she reveals the type of kid Hollywood is in desperate need of right now. The answer might surprise you! You can find more info on Wendy and her incredibly helpful YouTube videos on her website www.secretsofahollywoodtalentmanager.com.  Plus follow her on Twitter,  Facebook, and Instagram to keep track of all her tips for kids trying to break into Hollywood. Parents, is your kid a star? What are you gonna do about it? I'd love to hear from you!
