Sağlık, sadece hastalık ve sakatlığın olmayışı değil, bedensel, ruhsal ve sosyal yönden tam iyilik halidir.​1​Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) Namaste ( नमस्ते ), bazen namaskar ve namaskaram olarak da söylenen, günün herhangi bir saatinde kullanılan, karşıdaki kişiyi veya grubu saygıyla selamlamanın ve onurlandırmanın geleneksel, temassız biçimidir. ​2​ Namaste genellikle hafif bir reverans ile ve eller birbirine bastırılarak, avuç içleri birbirine dokunarak ve parmaklar yukarıyı gösterecek şekilde, başparmaklar göğse yakın olarak söylenir. Bu harekete añjali mudrā denir ; onu içeren ayakta duruş pranamasana'dır . ​3​ Tarihçe Yoga yapan Yotik motifleri ve figürleri İndus Saraswati vadisi uygarlığına ait Yoga, eski Hindistan'da ortaya çıkan ve zihni kontrol etmeyi, sakinleştirmeyi; zihnin ve dünyevi ıstırabın dokunmadığı bağımsız bir bilincin farkına varmayı amaçlayan bir grup bedensel, zihinsel ve ruhsal uygulamalar veya disiplinlerdir. Yoga (योग) sankritçe yoj kökünden türetilen bir kelime olup birleştirmek, birlik olmak anlamına gelir. Yoga, asıl olarak, zihin ve beden arasında uyum sağlamaya odaklanan, son derece ince bir bilime dayanan manevi bir disiplindir. Temel olarak sağlıklı yaşama sanatı ve bilimidir.​4​Milattan önce 2700 yılına dayanan, İndus Saraswati Vadisi Uygarlığı'nın “ölümsüz bir kültürel sonucu” olarak kabul edilen Yoga; insanlığın hem maddi hem de manevi yükselişine hizmet ettiğine inanılmaktadır. Efsaneye göre birkaç bin yıl önce, Himalayalar'daki Kantisarovar gölünün kıyısında, Adiyogi derin bilgisini efsanevi Saptarishis'e yani "yedi Bilge'ye" döktü. Ve bilgeler de bu kadim yoga bilimini Asya, Orta Doğu, Kuzey Afrika ve Güney Amerika dahil dünyanın farklı bölgelerine taşıdılar. İndus Saraswati Vadisi Uygarlığı'nın yaşadığı bölgede bulunan sayısız kalıntı; tarihsel olarak yoganın ana vatanını işaret etse de; bu kadim bilgiler insanlar aracılığı ile diğer kıtalara yayılmış ve farklı kültürlerde hak ettikleri yerleri almıştır. Daha çok fiziksel uygulama olarak 10. yüzyılda hatha yoganın gelişmesiyle gündeme gelmiş olsa da, ancak Hindistan'da, İngiliz askerlerinin idmanları, bölgesel jimnastik ve güneybatı Hindistan'ın güreş geleneklerini içeren egzersizlerin bir karışımı olarak yeniden ortaya çıkacağı 18. yüzyıla kadar göreceli olarak karanlıkta kaldı. Duruşlar yani āsanalar, yoga uygulamasının temel taşı haline geldi. 19. yüzyılın sonlarından başlayarak ve 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısının büyük bir kısmına kadar devam eden birkaç karizmatik yogi, Batı'da pratiğini tanıttı ve 1950'lerde Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde yoga okullarının açılmaya başlamasıyla doruğa ulaştı.​5​ Modern Yoganın Bileşenleri Modern yoganın üç ana bileşeni vardır: duruşlar/pozlar (āsanalar), nefes kontrolü/düzenli nefes alma (prānāyāma) ve meditasyon/gevşeme (dhyāna). İlahiler, manevi mesajlar ve fon müziği dahil edilebilir. Asanalar yani pozlar olmadan nefes kontrolü ve meditasyon kombinasyonları da bazen yoga olarak kabul edilirken, bu uygulamalar çoğu tanımı karşılamamaktadır ve bu konuda fikir birliği bulunmamaktadır.​6,7​ Duruşlar/pozlar/āsanalar Binden fazla āsana tanımlanmıştır.​8​ Bunların bazıları basit germe egzersizleri​9​ olup en idmansız kişinin bile yapabileceği kolaylıktadır. Bazıları ise daha zor olup mutlaka bir yardımcı ya da ileri eğitim ile yapılmalıdır. Kronik Bel ağrısı için önerilen basit yoga pozları​9​ Nefes kontrolü/düzenlenmiş nefes /prānāyāma  NadiShodhana/nadisudhi Prānāyāma Prānāyāma kelimesi, prānh (hayati hava, yaşam rüzgarı) ve āyāmh (kısıtlama, uzatma) kelimelerinin bir birleşmesiyle oluşturuluştur.​10​ Prānāyāma, 10. yüzyılda hatha yoga uygulamasının temel taşı haline gelmiştir. En yaygın olarak yavaş, derin diyafram nefesi olarak uygulanır: diyaframın, alt göğsün ve üst göğsün sıralı mobilizasyonu ile dakikada yaklaşık altı nefes alınır. Nefes alırken bir el karında bir el göğüs kafesinde olacak şekilde, kişi rahat bir pozisyonda dik olarak oturur.

Today we are so blessed to recognize and share the wisdom found in Boulder Influencer and Role Model, Kate Mulheron.   Kate has practiced many styles of yoga over twenty five years including: classical Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Forrest, Ashtanga and Bikram. She completed Hot Yoga Teacher’s Training in December of 2008.  She went on to train with Ana Forrest in October of 2009 which she considers one of the most pivitol experiences of her life.  Ana Forrest reminded Kate of the healer she was meant to be, by providing a space for Kate to take a deep and honest look at the protective barriers that held her back in life, until that point.  Kate’s great love of Forrest Yoga has significantly impacted her practice, life, and spirit and has taught her a greater understanding of the healing power of breath and movement within the physical, emotional and spiritual layers of the human body.
