Hey, it's Cha Wilde, and I'm so excited to be outside with you today, feeling the sun, the breeze, and all the magic of nature while we move through this yoga session together. Introduction and Setting the Scene Today's practice is a celebration of simplicity and success. For me, success is wearing a bikini, feeling the sand between my toes, and just being able to take care of myself. Let's dive into that energy as we connect with our breath, our bodies, and the world around us. 00:01:51 - Warm-up and Vinyasa Flow Let's start by warming up with some familiar moves—Downward Dog, Cat-Cow, and leg lifts. Feel your body wake up with each inhale and exhale, and connect with the earth beneath you and the sky above. 00:13:34 - Standing Poses and Balance Now, into our standing poses: Warrior, Triangle, Tree. Let's play with balance—not just physically but mentally, too. It's okay if you wobble; balance is dynamic and constantly shifting. 00:25:09 - Backbends and Stretches Moving into some deeper stretches and backbends like Camel and Locust Pose. This is where we find that beautiful dance between effort and ease. Listen to your body, push where it feels good, and relax where you need to. 00:31:29 - Inversions and Restorative Poses Let's flip our perspective with Shoulder Stand and Plow Pose, followed by some restorative goodness—Supta Baddha Konasana and, of course, Shavasana. Find your comfort and let yourself melt into gratitude. 00:35:07 - Closing and Reflections We'll end with a moment of gratitude. Take a second to reflect on the simple pleasures and blessings that make your day brighter. For me, after this session, it's paddleboarding and preparing for a fun photo shoot. I hope you continue to enjoy your day in a way that lights you up. Namaste! ------------------------ ✨ Welcome to Cha Wilde's YouTube channel dedicated to healing. Kundalini yoga is unlike any other type of yoga that you might practice. Where hatha yoga and vinyasa flow might focus on the physical exercises (asana) that yoga has to offer, Kundalini focuses on the spiritual practice of yoga. It's about the energy body as opposed to the physical body.  Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds.  Kundalini Yoga is the “yoga of awareness,” and we unpack exactly what that means in this juicy episode.

Welcome to Episode #86 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! My conversation with Rina Mehmeti and Agnesa Mehmeti, sister yoga teachers and yoga studio co-owners from Kosovo, was so beautiful as they shed light on what it was like to open the first yoga studio in Kosovo and how yoga impacted their community after all the turmoil and difficulties that followed the war. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode that is all about yoga in Kosovo then this is the conversation for you. Support the podcast: https://www.patreon.com/wildyogatribe What to expect in the Yoga In Kosovo episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast Step into the vibrant world of yoga in Kosovo with Rina and Agnesa Mehmeti, the dynamic duo behind Urban Yoga in Pristina. In this episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast, they share their incredible journey of opening a yoga studio in a country that was relatively unfamiliar with yoga just a few years ago. Rina and Agnesa's story begins with skepticism from friends and colleagues who couldn't fathom leaving their stable jobs for the path of yoga. But their passion for helping others and the word-of-mouth recommendations soon started to spread, creating a buzz around their studio. Local media coverage further introduced yoga to the community, dispelling misconceptions that yoga was simply sitting in a cross-legged position. The pandemic played a surprising role in boosting the popularity of yoga, turning it into a lifestyle choice that benefits both mental health and physical well-being. Beyond their studio's success, Rina and Agnesa offer insights into the beautiful country of Kosovo. They describe it as a small nation with stunning mountains and a young population. They highlight the warmth and hospitality of the people, making visitors feel like part of a family. They also touch upon the challenging times Kosovo faced during the war, recounting their personal experiences as refugees and the difficulties of living in a post-war environment. However, they express optimism for the future, with positive changes occurring in the country and the upcoming visa liberalization that will allow easier travel within Europe. For Rina and Agnesa, yoga is not just a physical practice but a transformative experience. It has helped them find balance, navigate anxiety, and be fully present in every moment. They view yoga as a powerful tool for healing and personal growth, instilling a sense of love, connection, and gratitude for life. Tell me more about Rina & Agnesa Mehmeti Agnesa and Rina Mehmeti are sisters and yoga teachers Kosovo. They co-own the Urban Yoga studio in Prishtina, the capital city of Kosovo. Their yoga journey started in 2013 when they first came to the practice, and they began teaching in 2017.  Agnesa and Rina have both completed various teacher training programs, including 200h Hatha Yoga in Crete at the Breath of Life School, Vinyasa Yoga in the Netherlands at the Arhanta Yoga Ashram, Prenatal Yoga in Italy at Transformational Hatha Yoga School, and  Kids Yogain Vienna at Yogaji School, and Ashtanga Yoga at Yoga Mea in Italy. They both teach Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Kids Yoga.  Both Agnesa and Rina bring their extensive training and passion for yoga to their classes, inspiring their students to live more mindful lives. Their studio, Urban Yoga, is a space for growth and community, where Agnesa and Rina share their love for yoga with students of all levels. For the skimmers - What's in the Yoga in Kosovo episode? You Can Make the Hard Seem Wonderful  This week we are talking with Jill Blumenstock. Jill found yoga in 2003 while braving the challenges she faced in medical school. She soon found herself buried in spiritual books instead of her textbooks and after three years of medical school and much soul searching, she withdrew from medical school knowing that she had greater gifts to offer the world through yoga. When something changes your life so profoundly and completely, you want to share it with the world. After moving to South Jersey, she began to teach in April 2006 and found inspiration in the creativity of Vinyasa Yoga. She completed two 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs: one in Vinyasa Yoga and one in alignment-focused Anusara Yoga. She completed the 500 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu. It has been her great privilege to nurture hundreds of aspiring yoga teachers over the last 13 years as they find their truth and voice through her 45 hour and 200 hour yoga teacher trainings. She also teaches Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings and has done extensive training in yoga therapeutics, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology and is a certified Vedic Astrologer who does private readings over the phone. She is currently studying meditation and philosophy with Paul Muller-Ortega and is an Authorized Teacher of Neelakantha Meditation. With her extensive knowledge of anatomy and her cheerful sense of humor, she seeks to create a safe, warm, and light-hearted space for her students to peek inside, explore, and connect to the greatest teacher-the teacher within- to find guidance and discover more about their true divine nature. Inspired by spiritual texts, poetry, and life's latest lessons, she frequently designs her sequencing to explore a spiritual theme or challenge and invites her students to reflect and find answers themselves. Teaching yoga has brought her great joy and has become the ultimate way to practice yoga and learn more about herself. Welcome to Episode #81 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! My conversation with Nathalie Bittar, a yoga teacher and the first yoga studio owner from Sudan, was enthralling as we took a deep dive into yoga as a complementary practice, not a competitive practice to religion. I hope that this conversation expanded your perception of how yoga can be a space for community, trust, and safety and how yoga can help you individually, and a community as a whole, shed defenses, shed armor, and help trauma to move through. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode that is all about yoga in Sudan then this is the conversation for you. Support the podcast: https://www.patreon.com/wildyogatribe Tell me more about Nathalie Bittar  Nathalie Bittar opened the first yoga studio in the capital city of Khartoum in Sudan in 2008, named Blue Nile Lotus. She is trained in Vinyasa Yoga, Tibetan Heart Yoga, Anusara yoga and Jivamurkti yoga and more. With over 1,000 hours of training, she can't get enough yoga. Nathalie also leads yoga teacher trainings in Sudan, and leads yoga retreats worldwide. She is also a psychotherapist in Core Process Psychotherapy. For the skimmers - What's in the yoga in Sudan episode? Experiencing 9/11 first-hand and coming to yoga at that time in her life Shedding defenses, armor, and trauma through yoga The political unrest in Sudan and how yoga helps the Sudanese heal and move through trauma How and why yoga resonates with the Sudanese Advice for the next generation of yoga retreat leaders What to expect in the Yoga In Sudan episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast Nathalie was working and living in New York City when 9/11 happened. In fact, she worked in the towers. Not the ones that fell— the one across the street. She had just begun practicing yoga that same year, and kept going to practice throughout that time of enormous trauma and turmoil. Yet, as the practice healed her, it still felt like a mystery. That led Nathalie to do her first yoga teacher training, and she decided to move back to Sudan to open the first yoga studio in her country in 2008. We talked about what it was like for her to open the first yoga studio in Sudan, and if there was any pushback. She expressed fears about the police shutting it down or disturbing the classes, but fortunately, that never happened. We also talked about what a difficult time it has been in the last few years for Sudan, with overthrowing the government in April 2019 and just over 2 years later a military coup taking place in October 2021. Nathalie shared with us how has yoga helped her community during this time of turmoil. As Nathalie leads yoga retreats not just in Sudan, but worldwide, we also delved into what advice she has to offer to yoga teachers who are one day hoping of leading yoga retreats themselves. As Nathalie conveyed, always have a plan and always have an eraser!  This was a beautiful conversation about trauma, safety, trust, shedding defenses, and how healing can happen on and off the mat, in and outside of the studio, all with, through, and by… yoga!
