Enjoy this episode? Please share it with at least ONE friend who you think needs to hear it!  What if modern science isn't telling us the whole truth? In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Steve Young, an author, musician, and natural philosopher, to explore the world of alchemy and challenge the rigid structures of contemporary science. Dr. Young, known by the music alias Hedflux, takes us on a journey through his experiences and the profound shifts in his understanding of reality. We dive into the reasons behind his decision to write his book, the natural science that is accessible to everyone, and the role shamanic experiences played in reshaping his worldview.   Episode Highlights:  Path to Alchemy: Dr. Young shares the events that led him from a conventional academic background in theoretical physics to the mystical world of alchemy, influenced by shamanic experiences that made him question everything he was taught.  Natural Science vs. Modern Science: A comparison of classical physics, which is rooted in observation and discovery, with modern science, which often relies on authority to dictate truth. Dr. Young delves into how these differences influenced his shift in perspective.  Heliocentrism and Gravity: Dr. Young discusses what led him to question the heliocentric model and the concept of gravity, including his thoughts on various scientific experiments like the Michelson-Morley experiment and their perceived flaws.  The Alchemical Elements: Explore the four classical elements—air, water, earth, and fire—and how ether connects with them. Dr. Young also breaks down the symbology of the tetractys and the deeper meaning behind the caduceus.  Alchemy and the Periodic Table: Dr. Young explains how the elements on the periodic table are formed through the transmutation of the four classical elements and shares insights into the inner processes of alchemy and the vessels used in this transformative work.  Evolution and Creation: A thought-provoking discussion on how the theory of evolution may detract from the universe's creation power, opening the door to alternative perspectives on existence.   About Dr. Steve Young:  Steven Young, based in Scotland, is an author, musician, and natural philosopher. Holding a Master of Science (MSci) and PhD in theoretical physics, Dr. Young transitioned from academia to a career as a music producer, known by the alias Hedflux. We will be practicing in our meditation – Bhuta Shuddhi. The Vedas clearly define Bhuta Shuddhi as an ancient tantric practice.Bhuta Shuddhi, means “purification or refining the physical and energetic elements.” Bhuta referring to the ‘Pancha Bhutas' or maha tatwas the five elements of earth, water, fire, air and space. Shuddhi means to cleanse. This practice is a fundamental process in the yogic culture which connects the physical, energetic and mental embodiment by using imagery, hand mudras, light, sound and your senses. Yogis understood the laws of Nature to attain greater health, power, knowledge, wisdom and sustained contentment in themselves by using practices effectively to heal, inspire and transform – cultivating equanimity in the Body, Energy & Mind connection. The idea is that we use our inner senses to connect to the physical elements within us, awaken to the energetic centres we call Chakras and create a clear pathway for Kundalini (Serpent Snake Shiva Lingham) to arises from its dormant state at the base up to Ajña chakra where we connect to the individual consciousness of ourselves and all thoughts vanish, the mind is left behind and we merge into the Universal Consciousness. We direct that to merger into our Hearts the abode of our True Nature. What remains is only the awareness of pure consciousness. To read more and to practice with Zephyr Wildman, click here. This Vayu is also responsible for taking the mind from waking to sleep, from sleep to dreaming and then to deep dreamless sleep -Turya – to higher planes of existence. When we focus a mindful concentration in practice on Udana Vayu the results leave us feeling connected, balanced and strong, we stand tall with integrity. His interest in combining these three approaches while working with clients led to the development of his trainings in Biodynamic Structural Integration. The problem of  figuring out how to not run out of breath while distance running, and being around adults with emphysema, captured Harvey's interest in breathing at an early stage.During his more than three decade full-time career in manual therapies, Bill has also pursued a variety of interests that deepened his work and instruction of Structural Integration. These interests have centered on questions of how life works. What is our proper place in Nature? What is the relationship between the wiring of our nervous systems, established through our attachment patterns and our physical structure and behavior? The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast 288: Shavasana (śavāsana) with Indu Arora   Description: Shavasana (śavāsana) is the final resting pose of almost every yoga practice but how much do we really know about and understand it? We may think of it as being a pose of resting or relaxation to cool off after a vigorous asana practice but it is much more than that. Indu Arora shares more.   Indu Arora considers herself a lifelong student and has spent the last 2 decades of her life studying, thinking and sharing Yoga and Ayurveda. She is a renowned author of SOMA - 100 Heritage Recipes for Self-Care, Yoga - Ancient Heritage, Tomorrow's Vision, and Mudra: The Sacred Secret. She is a firm believer that “yoga is not to be learnt and done but explored and realized” and embodies this in her own life and practice. Indu travels extensively within the United States, Canada, Europe and India to teach and speak on Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda and Mudras and her unique gift is in making Yoga and Ayurveda a practice which is equally useful for beginners as well as for seasoned seekers.    In this interview, we learn the correct Sanskrit pronunciation of Shavasana (and other asana!) and explore why the Sanskrit pronunciation is so important. Indu shares insights on what we are missing about Shavasana and the true purpose of this pose - as a preparation for death. Indu also answers some common questions we often encounter about Shavasana, such as how long it should be, and if it is okay to fall asleep during Shavasana. Indu offers some deep reflective questions for us to contemplate around why we practice yoga and how we can find, share, and face the truth through yoga. This is a great episode to listen to before your next yoga practice or before you do shavasana.   Key Takeaways: [3:48] Shannon introduces her guest for this episode - Indu Arora.
