It's Wednesday, July 10th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indonesian officials stop wedding and ban church On Sunday, June 30th, local officials in Indonesia stopped a wedding ceremony and banned the church from further worship meetings at the site, reports Morning Star News. Village head Eko Santoso halted the wedding at the Pentecostal Church in Indonesia and banned them from meeting, claiming the congregation lacked a building permit and that area residents opposed their church. A video by the Hagios Legal Aid Institute shows Pastor Setiawan telling the officials that they might first ban the prostitution taking place in front of the village head office.  According to Open Doors, Indonesia is the 42nd most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” Church of England endorses sexual perversion The Church of England voted to move forward with authorizing blessing services for homosexual couples this week. The Alliance network of conservative Anglicans is already prepared to create their own “parallel Province” within the Church of England if such services are approved. Rev. John Dunnett is the National Director of the Church of England Evangelical Council. He said, “The leaders of the Church of England seem intent on leading the church away from the Biblical teaching and doctrine passed down through the centuries and shared by millions of Christians in the Anglican Communion today.”  780,000 German church members left Over 400,000 people left the Roman Catholic Church in Germany in 2023. And 380,000 people left Protestant churches in the country last year as well.  Meanwhile, those who identify with no religion are rising in Germany, making up about 40 percent of the population.  However, young Germans are pushing back against those trends. A recent survey by a German-based research firm found 11 percent of Gen Zers read the Bible daily, compared to two percent of all Germans. Gen Z is also more like to believe in God than the general population and more likely to attend church than their grandparents.  New Republican Party Platform's 20 promises As The Worldview reported on Tuesday, the National Republican Party released its new platform on Monday. Former President Donald Trump backed the policy document. The party made 20 promises, including these:  Seal the border and stop the migrant invasion.  Defend our … fundamental freedoms, including … freedom of religion. End the weaponization of government against the American people. Cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children. The platform stated, “Today and together, with love for our country, faith in our people, and trust in God's good grace, we will make America great again!”  Tony Perkins not pleased with new GOP Platform However, the new Republican platform is soft on abortion and faux homosexual marriage.  For the first time in 40 years, the party is no longer calling for a federal abortion ban. Republicans also removed their definition of marriage, as being between one man and one woman.  Tony Perkins is the President of the Family Research Council and a member of the Republican platform committee. He has opposed recent changes, saying, “America can't be great until it's morally good. It has to have that foundation.”  Micah 6:8 reminds us, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Military chaplains needed ASAP Right now, there is a 50% vacancy in the chaplain positions in the Oregon Air National Guard. Sadly, it's indicative of the absence of military chaplains nationwide. As Kevin Swanson travels and speaks abroad, I guest host for him today on Generations Radio. I interview Brigadier General David Unruh, a regular listener to Generations Radio and the commander of 2,400 Airmen in Oregon. He sees a great opportunity for ministry.  He hopes Worldview listeners who are pastors will prayerfully consider serving one weekend per month in the Oregon Air National Guard -- or the National Guard of their home state -- as a chaplain. UNRUH: “I need ministers in the military to serve as chaplains to meet those spiritual needs, to help instruct the members of my military organization in the nature of what they believe is morally, ethically right in those foundations of liberty that we stand for. “And today in the Oregon Air National Guard, I'm short of Chaplains. I'm not just hiring chaplains that are like Pastor Jonas Clarke. I hire all sorts of chaplains. But his specific events in history are really the genesis of the email that are reached out to you that those heroic type of pastors are the kinds of pastors we need today more than ever.” Listen to my 39-minute interview with Brigadier General David Unruh who commands 2,400 airmen in the Oregon Air National Guard. Just go to Generations.org/radio. That's Generations.org/radio. 1,500-year-old ivory relic depicts Moses receiving 10 Commandments And finally, archaeologists recently announced their discovery of a 1,500-year-old relic in Austria, reports The Christian Post. Experts from the Innsbruck University discovered the ancient reliquary box made of ivory in a previously unknown church. They believe it depicts Moses receiving the Ten Commandments as well as Christ's ascension.  Archaeologist Gerard Grabherr said, “We know of around 40 ivory boxes of this kind worldwide and, as far as I know, the last time one of these was found during excavations was around 100 years ago.”    Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, July 10th, in the year of our Lord 2024. The Dom continues, honing in on developments around the Hunter Biden situation, explaining again why he considers this story to be incredibly valid and relevant. After that, Dom delves into the continued antisemitism on college campuses, offering what he would do if he was a decision-maker in charge of handling the controversy involving UPenn's President, who failed to condemn calls for genocide of Jews in front of Congress. Episode 52. July 4, 2020 CLP Topic: Republican Vichy Collaborators The Republican Party After Gorsuch.   Introduction. This podcast is the introduction to a much longer article titled, The Republican Party After Gorsuch. The full article is available at www.clpnewsnetwork.com Since 2008, anxious listeners have been calling into the Rush Limbaugh show asking him if it is time to panic about socialism. Rush always assures his listeners that he will tell them when it is time to panic. Rush generally combines the issue of time to panic with another issue that there is no “pushback,” without ever identifying who or what organization is supposed to be “pushing back.” Rush notes,           “There has yet to be any pushback on this…When there’s no pushback,           you’re gonna feel alone. Not only is there not pushback, the few who do           push back don’t get defended by very many people. You never see any           pushback. You never see anybody responding, so you think that you must be        in the minority.” Tucker Carlson made the same statement about pushing back with regard to the riots,           “No one attempted to stop the Democratic power grab. Where are the           protectors of the American Heritage.” We use the recent Gorsuch decision to explain why the Republicans never confronted the Democrat socialists. (The Restoration of the American Natural Rights Republic: Correcting the Consequences of the Republican Party Abdication of Natural Rights and Individualism, Laurie Thomas Vass. GabbyPress, 2017). The Republicans never pushed back against Black Lives Matter because the Democrats had effectively branded the Republican Party as racist, and the branding by the Democrats was permanently debilitating with a majority of voters on any issue related to social justice. In 2008, the Republicans never pushed back against Obama when he branded them as a racist party, and in 2020, they never pushed back against the rioters. They never attempted to defend themselves or offer their own public relations brand. Being branded as a racist political party did not detract them from the main mission of the National Republican Party to promote corporate cronyism, which they pursue as collaborators with the Democrats. The Establishment Republican Party never pushed back against their branding, because that is not their job, as they see it. Their job is to preserve and protect their heritage of economic advantage. We do not dwell on the legal intricacies of texturalism and originalism in the Gorsuch decision in Bostock, other than to note in passing that “because of” sex redefines the concept of individual natural rights. Prior to Gorsuch, natural rights inured to individual citizens, because they were citizen members of the United States. After Gorsuch, rights inure to gays and trans people because they are members of collectivist identity group, defined by Marxist theology as “oppressed” by the capitalist system. Madison’s Constitution can be interpreted from any texturalist reading, because Madison’s Constitution does not contain the legal maximand of individual freedom  in the Preamble. As the Gorsuch ruling demonstrates, texturalism applied to the Preamble can mean anything. “A more perfect union” depends on whether a more perfect union means more centralized socialism or more state sovereignty freedom. Sandra Sperino, a law professor at the University of Cincinnati, makes this point about texturalism in one of her articles.   She notes that the same text which is used by conservatives to,           “dismiss the statutory discrimination claims of all groups—black and brown          workers, religious minorities, women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ       employees was used by Gorsuch to extend rights to these same groups.” In other words, in one simple stroke, Gorsuch used texturalism to embrace the left’s Marxist ideology of group identity politics, and extended rights to oppressed groups, because of their sex. Our podcast today examines the significance and political implications of the Gorsuch decision on the future of the Republican Party as a repository for natural rights conservatives. We make the point that if the Constitution can mean anything, at anytime, whenever the Court’s majority says it, that it is essential to understand why certain types of Republican appointees are placed on the Court. We disagree with other conservatives who suggest that Gorsuch is a RINO. The only type of Republican that constitutes the Establishment Republican Party are RINOS. We argue that there is no such mythical beast, other than RINOs, that constitute the National Republican Establishment. Gorsuch reflects the ideology of the National Republicans perfectly, and his decision in Bostock was widely acclaimed by the RINO global corporate crony capitalists who run the National Republican Party. We argue that if there is any mythical political beast in America, it is the so-called conservative legal movement, that Gorsuch was rumored to be a member of, during his confirmation hearing. We argue that Trump, the man, is a pragmatist, who wakes up every day trying to figure out how to make America great. We argue that Trump, the man, is not a Republican RINO, but rather a populist, who loves the American people, and a nationalist, who loves the Nation. Trump, the man, does not have a coherent ideology of individualism. When he counterpunches against Pelosi or Schumer, he never places his counterpunch into a coherent ideology of individual freedom, in contrast to the Democrat’s socialism. But, Trump voters have extended to Trump their own natural rights ideology, and those followers are bewildered by the Gorsuch decision, and bewildered by why the Republicans never confronted the Democrat rioters. The Trump followers have been advised by Limbaugh, to continue to vote for Republicans, but, after 30 years of broadcasting the same message, Limbaugh’s political strategy of voting for Republicans is not working to preserve the national culture of individual liberty. In answer to a caller’s question, after Gorsuch, who asks “Why Keep Voting Republican?” Limbaugh answers,           “Here’s the answer: “Because even now, there is no reasonable           alternative.   There isn’t anybody else to vote for.” This is the same advice Jared Kushner gives to Trump about going easy on the rioters. Kushner assures Trump that Trump voters have nowhere else to go. It is the same answer the Democrats have given to Black voters since 1964. Black voters have nowhere else to go, other than continue to vote for the Democrats. The Gorsuch decision lays bare the irreconcilable conflict between a culture based upon individualism and a culture based upon collectivist group identity. There is nothing in the Republican ideology of crony global corporatism about individualism. On the other hand, there is nothing incompatible between a globalist corporate seamless economy and a globalist, collectivist, socialist dictatorship. The Republican Party, and the elite donor class of corporations, after Gorsuch, will increase the intensity of their efforts to destroy Trump’s Make America Great because national sovereignty is incompatible with corporate globalism. We argue that a more accurate description of the National Republican Establishment is Vichy Republican Collaborators with the socialist Democrats. In her recent article, History Will Judge the Complicit, on the origins of the French elite class Vichy collaboration with the Nazis, Anne Applebaum asks, “Why have Republican leaders abandoned their principles?” Her article is mostly an anti-Trump screed, but it contains a valuable nugget of history about wealthy Vichy collaborators, in France, that describes the Republican Party after Gorsuch. She explains, that in the historical context of French Nazi collaboration, a collaborator is,           “Someone who works with the enemy, with the occupying power, with           the dictatorial regime. In this negative sense, collaborator is closely           related to another set of words: collusion, complicity,           connivance…collaborator carries an implication of treason: betrayal of           one’s nation, of one’s ideology, of one’s morality, of one’s values.” Applied to the Republican Establishment today, she notes,           “the (historical) analogy makes sense. The point is not to compare           Trump to Hitler or Stalin; the point is to compare the experiences of high-          ranking members of the American Republican Party, especially those who   work most closely with the White House, to the experiences of           Frenchmen   in 1940, or of East Germans in 194. These are experiences of people who        are forced to accept an alien ideology or a set of values that are in sharp conflict with their own.” Applied to Republicans Vichy Collaborators, they tolerate Trump, but collaborate with Democrats to extend the globalist ideology of a one-world government.   This concludes our introduction to our podcast, which is available at podbean. I am blessed to be around remarkable people. There are always Takeaways to learn. That is what I am sharing on this podcast. Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned. explores learning from the wisdom of others. This was a landmark episode for Takeaways! We recorded in front of a live audience, we recorded on video (currently in editing) and we had to get official approval from the U.S. State Department to sit down with our guest!! February 5, 2019 Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, appointed Elan S. Carr to be Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat anit-Semitism. This position was established in 2004 as part of the Office of Religion and Global Affairs at the United States Department of State. Rewind to the summer of 1999. I was a rising sophomore attending UNLV. My fraternity brothers put me forward to receive a full scholarship to attend the Alpha Epsilon Pi International Convention in Morristown, New Jersey. At one of the leadership breakout sessions was this guy with radiating enthusiasm. Whenever he saw someone he knew, he would let out this signature "dooooooooode" as the pitch in his voice raised, his arms would open wide in anticipation of a brotherly embrace. He would then say in perfect Hebrew, "brother how I missed you!" Elan was already a legend to droves of Alpha Epsilon Pi brothers around the world back then as a major volunteer. He joined AEPi as an undergraduate at U.C. Berkeley where he earned a degree in Philosophy and Political Science. Then he went to Northwestern University to get his law degree. Operation Desert Storm occurred when he was a first year law student. That compelled Elan to join the U.S. Army. It was that decision which lead him to serve in the Iraqi War after the events of 9/11. The stories Elan shares in this episode about his experiences in Iraq are almost unbelievable. Elan's day job for 13 years was as a criminal prosecutor in Los Angeles Country. He focused both as a gang prosecutor and in the Special Victims Unit prosecuting child molesters, rapists, and domestic abusers. In 2014 Elan ran for Congress and lost. It was that election, however, that put him on the radar of the National Republican Party to be considered almost 5 years later for this current role. Politics aside what else can you learn from a person like Special Envoy Carr? Here are just a few of the Takeaways that we discussed on this episode. • When you have an opportunity to express yourself and your faith you do it. • How you define a problem determines how you solve it. • What is the state of anti-Semitism in the world today? I hope you enjoy! Thank you for listening! Please subscribe to “Takeaways”, rate and review wherever you get your podcasts.
