He explores the irony of corporate profits soaring while workers struggle, and the shady dealings surrounding U.S. oil interests in Venezuela. Then, he speaks with Dr. Jason Nichols who's an is an award winning full-time senior lecturer in the African American Studies Department at the University of Maryland College Park. They explore the war in Iran, which has now entered its sixth month, and the administration's shifting rhetoric from economic warfare to military strikes. John and Jason discuss the fallout of Trump's controversial decision to expand access to imported lean beef trimmings, a move that has left American cattle farmers furious and raised questions about the true meaning of "America First". Next, John welcomes back the National Affairs correspondent for the Nation - John Nichols. They talk about the remarkable legacy of Dolly Parton, exploring her role not just as a beloved entertainer but as a steadfast union advocate. The conversation highlights Dolly's long-standing commitment to the labor movement, including her nearly six-decade membership in the American Federation of Musicians and SAG-AFTRA. They discuss how her iconic song "9 to 5" resonates as a powerful anthem for workplace equality and the working class, and how Dolly's personal experiences shaped her understanding of union solidarity. They also tackle her nuanced relationship with feminism, her clever responses to political questions, and her impact on the LGBTQ community. And finally, Professor Corey Brettschneider is back to share his legal wisdom. They kick off with a discussion about the controversial remarks made by Texas politicians regarding the need for unity behind Ken Paxton, despite his unpopularity. John reflects on the recent march in D.C. led by Reverend Al, commemorating Dr. King's legacy and advocating for new voter protections, emphasizing the importance of persistent activism in the face of political fatigue. They also dissect a recent court ruling that deemed the Trump administration's targeting of international students for deportation based on their political opinions unconstitutional. In this sponsor spotlight, Jon Herold welcomes Nelson McIlveen, the injection molder turned water evangelist behind Century H2O. Nelson's origin story is a wild one. He spent decades running factories and building plastic parts for Boeing, Airbus, fighter jets, and yes, the palm-leaf covers on Southwest cell towers, then made a fortune assembling reverse osmosis systems before deciding the water they produced was, in his words, poison. From there he pivots to oxygen, industrial scale management, and a personal health story involving climbing PSA levels that he credits his own filtration system with reversing. It is part manufacturing memoir, part water science pitch, and part Badlands sponsor rundown, complete with a claim that even your cat will notice the difference. Take the health talk with a grain of salt, but Nelson's enthusiasm is hard to miss. Jon just had the system installed and promises to report back. Where to buy and the promo code get covered at the end.

TakeawaysSenator Mike Rounds calls President Trump's plan to import 300,000 metric tons of foreign beef "disappointing," warning it sends the wrong signal to a cattle market that has finally started rewarding producers after the smallest U.S. cow herd in 70 years.Rounds breaks down the RANC Act, a bipartisan bill with Senator Amy Klobuchar that would pay landowners the county average rental rate to put marginal cropland back into grass for 10 to 15 years, capped at 20 million acres nationwide, in an effort to rebuild the national cow herd.Mandatory country of origin labeling finally has a real path forward. Rounds confirms Senator Thune got it included in the farm bill moving through the Senate Agriculture Committee, more than a decade after producers first started pushing for it.In this special episode of the "Heart of Rural America," host Amanda Radke sits down with Senator Mike Rounds at the Casey Tibbs Heritage Center in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, right after a one hour roundtable discussion with cattle producers from across the state. The conversation centers on President Trump's surprise announcement to buy 300,000 metric tons of foreign beef, and Rounds does not mince words about it, calling it disappointing and warning that it undercuts an America First message at the exact moment cow-calf operators are finally turning a profit.Rounds and Radke dig into why beef prices are up in the first place: the American cow herd is the smallest it has been in 70 years, and rebuilding it means ranchers have to hold back heifers instead of selling them, a multi-year commitment with no fast fix. That leads into a detailed breakdown of the Ranch Act, Rounds' bipartisan proposal with Senator Amy Klobuchar to pay landowners to convert marginal cropland back into grass for 10 to 15 years, with a second payment available from whoever grazes the land. The two also cover the recent reopening of the Mexico border to cattle imports, packer consolidation, and the progress mandatory country of origin labeling has made inside the farm bill after more than a decade of advocacy.Presented by Bid On Beef | CK6 Consulting Services Inc. | CK6 Source | Real Tuff Livestock Equipment | Ambrook | Redmond Real Salt | All American Angus Beef | Radke Land & CattleUse code RADKE for $10 off your next All American Angus Beef order at www.BidOnBeef.comSave on Redmond Real Salt with code RADKE at https://shop.redmondagriculture.com/Try a one-month trial with Ambrook for free here: ambrook.com/radkeCheck out Amanda's agricultural children's books here: https://amandaradke.com/collections/amandas-booksLearn more about Bulletproofing Your Direct-To-Consumer Beef Enterprise: https://amandaradke.com/products/bulletproof-your-beef-businessReport an issue with the USDA Lawfare portal: https://www.usda.gov/lawfareJoin the property rights fight at American Land & Legacy. at www.americanlandandlegacy.org

8/24/26 - Conservatives vs. AI: A Dangerous Mistake?

Mark Levin Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 25, 2026 113:13

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, AI and data centers are the new boogeyman. And the ones complaining the loudest are so-called conservatives. According to a poll, 71% of Americans oppose data centers. But what is it they oppose? There's a lot of lies and misinformation floating around, like what happened during COVID. It's democracy vs. mobocracy, and people are throwing their principles to the wind. While West Virginia welcomes data centers, California wants to ban them. People who call themselves conservatives preach against socialism then demand government kill an entire industry? This is where the rubber hits the road: conservatives must either support what's right or join the mob. We're capitalists, this is who we are. America must support new technologies that will create new jobs and secure our future. Also, people are always distrustful of new things, but we can't be afraid to stand up to the mob. We say we're America First but oppose an industry that will keep America as the world's tech leader? We say we want to hire Americans over foreigners but try to ban a new industry that will create jobs? The hypocrisy is thick. Then, Abdul El-Sayed on MS NOW complains that Trump thinks he's less American. And why wouldn't he? El-Sayed says the election is about pocketbook issues like healthcare and affordability but with someone like El-Sayed, this election is about his ties to terror groups. It is about sharia law. It is about his father's ties. It is his association with Hasan Piker who thinks America deserved 9/11. Did El-Sayed's parents or grandparents fight for this country? Don't be fooled by Islamists who pretend to be someone they're not. Finally, JD Vance says we must be ruthless in our exercise of power. That's wrong. There is a difference between positive power and negative power. While negative power is the ruthless use of power, positive power is power exercised properly in line with the Constitution and the Declaration's emphasis on the individual. The Constitution spells out who gets what kind of power and how much, and the further away we get from the Constitution, the closer we come to authoritarianism and tyranny. The key point: power must be exercised legitimately. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Today Joe pulls back the curtain on an election system that keeps handing Americans excuses instead of answers. Eyewitnesses out of Shasta County reveal poll workers describing counterfeit ballots slipped into California's primary count, while another courageous county clerk begs Washington for basic help keeping noncitizens off her voter rolls — only to reveal the Secretary of State's own office is registering illegal immigrants the moment they update an address. Joe contrasts that rot with a CNN graphic even the network can't spin away: overwhelming majorities of Black, white, and Latino voters all want photo ID at the polls. Then James O'Keefe joins the fight, calling out Senator Lisa Murkowski for threatening to prosecute him over voter fraud while she personally torpedoes the SAVE Act — the legislation that would actually stop it. It's a masterclass in who's protecting the vote and who's protecting the fraud. From there, Joe welcomes America First organizer and Colorado GOP delegate James McAndrew — a man who was on the ground at the Ellipse on January 6th and has spent every day since fighting for election integrity from the inside. McAndrew breaks down what's really happening in Colorado politics, and Joe drops the truth, nine — soon revealed as ten — Democrat-held State House seats where not a single Republican even bothered to file. It's an uncontested one-party rule, playing out in real time, next door to a Denver street scene of addicts getting high in broad daylight — the predictable output of the same failed leadership. The conversation turns to a wrongly deported immigrant's CBS interview, a fresh 6-3 Supreme Court win clearing the path for Trump's mail-ballot executive order, and — because nothing is off-limits — the President's plan to rename Lake Ontario "Lake America."The back half of the show is a gut-check on what "sanctuary" really means. California just codified the "Stop Nick Shirley Act" into law, New York Governor Kathy Hochul is celebrating a statute that bans police from cooperating with ICE while accusing federal agents of "atrocities," and Minnesota is now issuing public safety warnings about Somali gang violence at the State Fair. Add in the Girl Scouts' new Islam-themed merit badges and a Clinton-appointed federal judge striking down Ohio's citizenship-verification voter law weeks before the midterms, and the pattern is impossible to ignore: institutions built to protect citizens are being repurposed to protect everyone but them. Tune in as Joe connects every thread — because if you're not watching closely, you won't see it coming until it's already at your door.

This Week's Guest: Colton Kelley from Unicity https://BadlandsHealth.com Jon Herold is so sold on unimate that he shows up to this interview clutching his branded water bottle. In this episode of the sponsor spotlight series, he sits down with Colton Kelley of Unicity, the company behind the yerba mate extract Jon swears replaced his coffee habit. Colton traces Unicity's roots back to a century-old pharmacy, then breaks down what actually makes yerba mate tick: chlorogenic acid, theobromine, and mate saponins, plus why one scary-sounding study about the drink is, in his words, bogus. From there the conversation widens into the bigger question of why over 60 percent of American adults are on a prescription every year, and how the flagship pairing of unimate and balance aims at metabolic health rather than symptoms. It is friendly, product-heavy, and genuinely curious about the science. None of this is medical advice, but it is a solid look at the company behind the tea. Where to buy comes up too.

They dig into Florida's primary results, where Alex Vindman suffers a genuinely shocking upset loss to a lesser known challenger despite massive fundraising and national attention. There is also a painful pair of clips from a South Carolina debate where one candidate seems to have no answers when finally given the floor. They close with Texas and Minnesota's governors trading barbs over an extradition fight tied to voter fraud repayment, plus a lingering Nevada US Attorney vacancy nobody can explain. Plenty of banter and a healthy dose of disbelief throughout.

Despite a major setback earlier this year when the Supreme Court ruled against his use of emergency authority in enacting tariffs back in April 2025 on what he called “Liberation Day,” President Donald Trump continues to find ways to levy import taxes on friends and foes alike. That includes a whopping 50% levy aimed at Canada which, if negotiations fail, will go into effect on August 19th. Meanwhile a new piece of legislation cloaked in the guise of Russian sanctions aims to effectively give the president carte blanche to levy tariffs on whichever countries he wants to. Is the president's “America First Trade Policy” a win for the American people? Jimmy says he welcomes the group's stated opposition to foreign wars and foreign lobbying while expressing skepticism about whether it will become a genuine alternative to the Republican Party or simply influence it from within. The discussion also argues that bipartisan support for military intervention and corporate influence in politics are major obstacles to meaningful political reform, while calling for a broader coalition that crosses traditional left-right divides. Throughout the segment, Jimmy emphasizes anti-war politics, campaign finance reform, and reducing the influence of special interests in U.S. government.

H.W. Brands, Part Two: In 1941, the debate intensifies over the Lend-Lease Act, which Lindbergh argues supports British imperialism rather than democracy. Lindbergh testifies before Congress, asserting that air power makes the Western Hemisphere more defensible, contradicting Roosevelt's claims that technology has made America more vulnerable. Roosevelt declares an "unlimited national emergency," casting anti-interventionists as disloyal "copperheads" and "fifth columnists." The America First movement is effectively ruined following Lindbergh's Des Moines speech, in which he identifies "Jewish Americans" as a group pushing the U.S. toward war, leading to widespread accusations of anti-Semitism. The national debate ends abruptly with the attack on Pearl Harbor and Hitler's subsequent declaration of war. Although Roosevelt bars his chief critic from official military service, Lindbergh eventually flies combat missions surreptitiously as a civilian consultant in the Pacific. (2)v

H.W. Brands, author of America First: Roosevelt vs. Lindbergh in the Shadow of War, Part One: In April 1939, world-famous aviator Charles Lindbergh returns to the United States as global tensions escalate. Lindbergh, who moved to Europe following the "trial of the century" regarding his son's kidnapping, admires German technical proficiency but is deeply skeptical of British endurance. President Franklin Roosevelt attempts to co-opt Lindbergh into his administration to control his influence, but Lindbergh refuses, fiercely guarding his independence. When war erupts in Europe, Lindbergh uses his celebrity status to broadcast radio appeals for neutrality, believing American intervention would repeat the "mistake" of World War I. Meanwhile, Roosevelt maneuvers to modify the Neutrality Act and shift public opinion toward supporting Britain. Lindbergh views the fall of France as vindication for staying out of the conflict, while FDRuses the international emergency to justify a historic third term, a move Lindbergh fears will lead to a "presidency for life."
