On Friday's Mark Levin Show, does the president have the right to impose vaccine mandates on the American People? Of course, the President and the federal government don't have this authority, but that didn't stop the Democrats from producing a workaround to attempt to mandate them. In oral arguments to determine this very question at the Supreme Court, Justice Sonia Sotomayor made incoherent claims that simply weren't true, making her case for OSHA requirements in the workplace. Judges shouldn't make health policy; they should interpret the law. Then, Justice Sam Alito made an argument for the unprecedented particularity of the OSHA policy which potentially impacts workers in the name of safety. In fact, the Spanish Flu of 1918 scared people in much the same way but America did not see these types of mandates. Although we did see high numbers of vaccine injuries following the Spanish Flu. Later, Big tech shuts down debate from experts with opposing viewpoints. Discussion on the efficacy of vaccines is not permitted by the left. Just like Liz Cheney won't look at Nancy Pelosi's failure to secure the Capitol Building. Afterward, the jobs numbers are dismal, and Biden's handling of the economy continues to worsen. Employers can't find workers for open positions because of generous unemployment programs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Should the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, face criminal charges? Few Republican leaders have been clearer in their answers to those questions–and none have paid a higher price–than Wyoming congresswoman Liz Cheney. Because of her decision to impeach the president, Rep. Cheney went from being the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress to being shunned by her own party and stripped of much of her power. Figures on the left that once called Cheney a “warmonger” and worse are now praising her as a hero.   Today, a conversation with Rep.   THE THESIS: The Lord has always created counter cultures. He has also welcomed his people's pleas, moans and praise, when He could have silenced them. The technocrats are attempting to force a uni-culture upon us, they silence debate, they attack thinkers and they are consolidating power. Choose your side.  THE SCRIPTURE:  Matthew 9: 1-19 9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” 4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, ‘Get up and walk'? 6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. The Calling of Matthew 9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. 10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” THE NEWS: I got suspended from Twitter the same weekend as Marjorie Taylor Greene. She posted data from VAERS and said there were "extremely high amount of covid vaccine deaths" that she said are "ignored." -- she's right, of course.  Justin Hart: “Oh look. Here's the CDC using the VAERS data in a report just 2 days ago. I guess when the data supports the proper narrative we can use it but when it contradicts it... you get banned from Twitter. WTF?!” This was a banning offense six months ago - not today, not when it's from Mr. FDA Pfizer → At this stage of the pandemic, cloth masks don't provide much protection against COVID-19, according to @ScottGottliebMD It's not just Covid where The Party demands fielty to their uniculture, it's everywhere. Liz Cheney had--and has--nothing to say about BLM, Antifa, the Squad--she is all over Trump, of course.  THE MONOLOGUE: Pandemic Response Will Be Used As Model for “Climate Crisis” Response; It's not appropriate. However, unless there is serious push-back, it may be the very model used. We can see media hustlers ginning up climate fear in real time. Instead of allowing the investigation into whether downed power lines combined with poor urban planning resulted in Colorado's winter wildfires to be completed, many in the press immediately interject “climate crisis” into reports. CBS News (linked in Leslie's story): “Officials say that downed power lines are the expected origin for the wildfires that erupted in the Boulder, Colorado area on Thursday, but that the investigation is ongoing.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the left will subpoena all of Donald Trump's children, and anyone else they can to cover up for Speaker Pelosi's dereliction of duty to keep the Capitol building safe. They will pretend that Trump is the greatest threat since the Civil War, but it's the Democrat Party and Pelosi that is the greatest threat to democracy. This country has seen 4 presidents assassinated, it's seen Black people prevented from voting because of Democrat Jim Crow laws, and yet the Democrats will try and trick you into believing that whatever they say is the biggest threat to democracy. What the Democrats have done to the Constitution and the presidency during Trump's term is the biggest affront to this republic's history. Then, a radical group focused on the secession of Puerto Rico, opened fire inside the US Capitol Building shooting 4 US Congressmen in 1954. The Weather Underground set off a bomb at the Capitol in 1971. In May of 1972 leftwing terrorists set off a bomb outside the State Department. Democrats, however, will not call these attacks an insurrection or the biggest threat to democracy, will they? Afterward, Liz Cheney admitted on cable news that her purpose on the January 6th Committee is to make sure Donald Trump never gets near the White House again. Not as Pelosi says, to get to the bottom of what really happened. This, along with the attacks from the New York Attorney General on Trump and his family are the real threat to democracy. Later, why do you think that Democrats want non-citizens to vote? Why do Democrats resist voter ID laws? It's because they want to choose who can vote so they can make voting eligible for all, not only those legally qualified to vote. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The topic of this episode is, “What differences do women make in Congress?” My guest is https://gufaculty360.georgetown.edu/s/contact/00336000014RbbCAAS/michele-swers (Michele Swers), professor of American government at Georgetown University. She studies Congress, congressional elections, and women in politics. She has written a lot of research articles and book chapters, and also is the author of two books on women in Congress. The first one is titled https://amzn.to/3ozw9j8 (The Difference Women Make: The Policy Impact of Women in Congress). The second book is titled https://amzn.to/3Ho4URi (Women in the Club: Gender and Policy Making in the Senate). And, I would be remiss if I did not mention, she is the coauthor of https://amzn.to/3kEuRT2 (Women and Politics: Paths to Power and Political Influence). Kevin Kosar: Welcome to Understanding Congress, a podcast about the first branch of government. Congress is a notoriously complex institution, and few Americans think well of it, but Congress is essential to our republic. It's a place where our pluralistic society is supposed to work out its differences and come to agreement about what our laws should be. And that is why we are here: to discuss our national legislature and to think about ways to upgrade it so it can better serve our nation. I'm your host, Kevin Kosar, and I'm a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a think tank in Washington, DC. It is to Professor Swers we now turn to learn about women in Congress. Professor Swers, welcome to the program. Michele Swers: Thank you, Kevin. Thanks so much for having me. I'm a big fan of your podcast. Kevin Kosar: Oh, thanks for saying. Let's start with a really simple question. How many women are in Congress today? Michele Swers: So, right now you have 120 women in the House. Eighty-nine are Democrats, 31 are Republicans. And in the Senate, you have 24 women, 16 Democrats, 8 Republicans. From those numbers, you can tell that there are more women who are Democrat than Republicans. And that's because the number of women really started to increase in 1992, and people called that the Year of the Woman, but it was really the Year of the Democratic Women. It was Democrats who elected more women at that time. They had a pretty good year that year. Even in years where Republicans had good years, like 1994, they elected more women, but not a lot more women. In 2018, Democrats elected another Year of the Woman, but they elected more women of color. So there was a lot of attention to that. And that's when I'm sure your listeners know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez comes into the picture and Ayanna Pressley and some others. And then in 2020, Republicans did have a very good year. They went from 13 women to 31 in the House of Representatives, and they elected a greater mix of women and minorities. It was a good year from their perspective. But you can tell though that by these numbers, when Democrats are in charge, women have more access to the majority and seats of power. So women are about 40 percent of the Democratic caucus in the House, and that means they have some seniority level. In the House, on the Democratic side, anyway, committee assignments work based on seniority, so you have more women who have access to be chairs. So Rosa DeLauro, head of Appropriations, or Carolyn Maloney as the Oversight chair, Maxine Waters at Financial Services — important committees. On the other hand, for Republicans, women are only about 15 percent of their caucus. They've had a woman in the conference chair position for a very long time — obviously turnover with different women. Most recently, Liz Cheney was pushed out, and Elise Stefanik is now the conference chair. But they don't have as many women with seniority. There are not as many women who will reach those committee chairmanships when Republicans are in charge. Right now you do have Kay Granger at Appropriations. She's the ranking member, so maybe she'll...

On Friday's Mark Levin Show, we bring you the best of Mark Levin. The American Marxist elements in America, backed by the media and embraced by the Democrat party, have brought us the crime wave we are seeing across the country. The George Floyd riots in 2020 were seen as an opportunity for a war on cops, capitalism, and society. The Democrat party has the help from George Soros to destroy America from within. Until Soros and the Democrat Party are held to account this crime will continue. We have a lack of leaders who will stand up to these radicals. Also, Barak Ravid, an Israeli journalist playing both sides of the fence, is causing a stir over an interview he's done with former President Trump wherein he claims that former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was amongst the first to congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden in November of 2020 when he was one of the last western leaders to do so. Then, inflation is not a way to print more money to achieve abstractions like Marxism. The laws of economics must be followed lest you create a false economic world. Thanks to Biden the U.S is now at the highest rate of inflation in 40 years. All Biden can do is blame you, the private sector, and the American people. Later, Rep Liz Cheney suggests that then-President Trump committed a federal crime on January 6th, 2021. Of course, Congress has no authority to prosecute any crime, and acting in this manner violates one's Fifth Amendment rights. in doing so, Liz Cheney has demonstrated that many in Trump's inner circle urged him via texts to Mark Meadows to speak out against the violence at the Capitol. Incidentally, Trump had offered 10,000 National Guard troops, but Speaker Pelosi rejected the President's offer. This Pelosi-appointed committee is covering up for her. The real question is: what did Pelosi know and when did she know it? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On Thursday's Mark Levin show, Kathleen Landerkin, the foul-mouthed Deputy Warden of the DC jail housing January 6th detainees, must be thrilled to mistreat the 'white racist' inmates at her facility. According to a recent report, these detainees are suffering because of the Deputy Warden's political bias. Afterward, the U.S military is employing Gender Advisers to advance the leftwing culture within the military. Later, the public's pressure on Congress has succeeded in killing the provision to allow women to be drafted for war. The Build Back Better plan has been blunted and the radical element of the Democrat Party is now attacking Sen. Joe Manchin for holding the line thus far against the far left. Then, Liz Cheney continues her fake news fabricated narrative that Trump's refusal to act for 187 minutes was an extreme dereliction of duty, despite the fact that a review of Trump's timeline has revealed that there was no such delay. Trump in fact addressed the demonstrators and thanked law enforcement just 25 minutes after the first breach, according to the FBI as reported by the Washington Post.  Afterward, China is infiltrating American college campuses through Beijing-controlled Confucius Institutes. China is a dangerous enemy that must not be taken lightly. Finally, Bret Baier calls in to discuss his book, To Rescue the Republic: Ulysses S. Grant, the Fragile Union, and the Crisis of 1876. https://www.amazon.com/Rescue-Republic-Ulysses-Fragile-Crisis/dp/0063039540/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=bret+baier&qid=1639607800&sr=8-1 Learn more about your ad choices.
