Welcome to Keota, Iowa, where the Keota Eagles hosted the Belle Plaine Plainsmen on a scorching hot day. Despite the oppressive heat, the Eagles delivered a stellar performance, especially on Senior Night, showcasing their talents and determination. The game kicked off with Wade Sancott leading off for the Plainsmen, but it was the Eagles' lineup, featuring standout players like Tanner Waterhouse, Cole Kindred, and Blake Baker, that stole the show. Waterhouse set the tone with a triple in his first at-bat, while Kindred delivered a pitching performance to remember, retiring batters with precision and relying on his solid defense. Senior players Tanner Waterhouse, Cole Kindred, Evan Vitito, Aiden McGuire, and Chase Searon all contributed significantly, making their last regular-season home game a memorable one. The Eagles' defense was flawless, with no errors throughout the game, and their offense was relentless, driving in runs and putting pressure on the Plainsmen's pitchers. The game saw multiple key plays, including a 2-RBI double by Billy Kindred and an RBI single by Jacob Leib. The Eagles' relentless offense and airtight defense culminated in an 11-1 victory, marking a perfect end to their home season. With this win, the Eagles look forward to the playoffs, carrying the momentum from this impressive performance. Have you heard the exciting news? This summer the North Platte Plainsmen will make their debut. On today's episode, Bryan Frew the owner of the Hastings Sodbusters joins us to discuss North Platte's new baseball team and their future in the community. This team of collegiate division one players will play their first game on May 24th, 2022 at Historic Bill Wood Field. By playing 60 games in two months, these college players will get the chance to hone their skills and love for the game while community bonds are being made. The team will bring entertainment, tourism, and summer jobs with them. Generous host families will be housing the players and making sure they feel at home in North Platte.  Working alongside the Legion league, Bryan hopes to promote love for community and baseball with the Plainsmen. The games will involve a lot more than just baseball: community events, family-friendly games, and more.
