Première femme suisse et première française à avoir atteint le sommet de l'Annapurna1 et du Kangchenjunga et à avoir gravi 11 sommets de plus de 8000 mètres. Sophie est Suissesse, française et canadienne. Elle a débuté sa carrière dans l'hôtellerie de luxe notamment comme directrice des ventes et marketing à l'hôtel Richemond et a également travaillé dans l'univers de la cosmétique, chez Clarins. Elle est aujourd'hui depuis juillet 2019 surnommée The 88 000 Lady, « la femme aux 88 000 ».  Aujourd'hui, Himalayiste et conférencière, Sophie Lavaud consacre aujourd'hui sa vie aux expéditions himalayennes avec une succession impressionnante de réussites : onze sommets de plus de 8000 m sur les 14 recensés, Sophie Lavaud est la plus capée des himalayistes suisses et françaises. Nous avons souhaité échangé avec Sophie pour comprendre son changement de vie, sa transformation, ses aspirations, ce qui l'anime aujourd'hui, sa force mentale qui s'est endurcie au fur et à mesure de ces nombreuses ascensions, sa vision de l'échec, sa gestion du risque et des doutes et bien sûr tenter de comprendre la femme qu'elle est devenu aujourd'hui grâce à ces expéditions aussi incroyables que dangereuses.
