Prestižní novinářskou Cenu Ferdinanda Peroutky získala šéfka komentářového oddělení Seznam Zpráv Kateřina Šafaříková. „Když uspějete a jste dobrá, je fér dostat ocenění,“ říká.Kateřina Šafaříková strávila přes dvacet let v časopisu Respekt, dvakrát byla zpravodajkou v Bruselu a pracovala i pro Lidové noviny. Do Seznam Zpráv přišla v létě 2024, nejprve jako moderátorka podcastu 5:59, loni v září se pak stala vedoucí komentářů.„Jsem často zvaná na debaty, abych pohovořila o tom, jak se to dělá, že někdo může mít dvě malé děti a být zahraniční zpravodajka, jak se to kloubí, jak se v tomhle dominantně mužském světě funguje ženě. A já vždycky říkám, že tajemství té věci je mít kuráž, vydržet a dělat to tak, jako to dělají muži,“ říká Šafaříková v nejnovějším dílu podcastu Mediální cirkus.Šafaříková začínala s novinařinou v roce 2000 v časopisu Respekt. O několik let později přestoupila do Lidových novin, které ji jako zpravodajku vyslaly do Bruselu. A to v době, kdy Česko do Evropské unie vstupovalo.„Mně bylo 28, když jsem odjížděla a tam byli kolegové z velkých britských a francouzských novin, kterým bylo 45 nebo 50, říkali nám naše mimina z postkomunistických zemí. Myslím ale, že dobrodružné to bylo i pro první české europoslance, české úředníky, diplomaty, prostě pro všechny to byla premiéra. A i v tomto smyslu myslím, že jsme byli mimina,“ vzpomíná Šafaříková.V Bruselu tehdy byla v letech 2004 až 2009. To, že na zpravodajský post odjela za redakci žena, byla podle jejích vzpomínek vlastně spíše náhoda. Obecně je totiž žen na zpravodajských postech výrazně méně než mužů.„Tu nabídku původně dostal můj mužský kolega, ale řekl, že se mu tam nechce, protože neví, jestli by ho to zajímalo a jestli by to zvládnul. A já jsem si řekla, že to zkusím. Jinými slovy, někdy si myslím, a to je tedy chyba nás žen, že bychom někdy měli mít minimálně stejně kuráže jako naši mužští kolegové a jít do toho,“ říká.Mašina na dohodyPodruhé do hlavního města Evropy odjela Šafaříková v roce 2020 jako zahraniční zpravodajka vydavatelství Economia. Tehdy jela se dvěma malými dětmi a v Bruselu byla v době druhého českého předsednictví.„Za těch necelých 20 let jsme dokázali vygenerovat jako stát dobré úředníky, diplomaty, experty. V době zejména druhého českého předsednictví EU, tedy v druhé půlce roku 2022, se o Češích říkalo: ‚Vy jste normální mašina na dohody‘,“ popisuje zkušenosti Šafaříková.„Jedna norská diplomatka, která do té doby neměla tolik osobních zkušeností ať už s námi, s Maďary, se Slováky, mi říkala: ‚Hele, já jsem si myslela, že vy Češi budete takoví druzí Maďaři nebo Poláci, ale vy jste spíš takoví druzí Němci, hrozně výkonní, funkční, manažerští, fungujete velmi dobře‘,“ dodává bývalá bruselská zpravodajka.Češi ale i přes dvacetileté členství a úspěšná předsednictví zůstávají k Evropské unii poměrně skeptičtí a u politiků napříč stranami je kritika EU častým tématem.Jaké to je, odjet na zahraniční zpravodajský post s malými dětmi? The Lakers will be sold for $10 billion and as a former member of the Lakers organization, Dave has some thoughts on how the "Mom and Pop" nature of the team might change under a more corporate ownership.  Jeanie Buss will still represent the team as their "Governor," but her input on basketball decisions might be affected. 29:54 ...
