Most podcasters quit after three episodes when download numbers disappoint, chasing vanity metrics instead of serving an audience. Mischa Zvegintzov, host of the Table Rush Talk Show, took the opposite approach. He focused on service by asking how he could be of service and what he could bring to the table, building confidence to speak anywhere despite discouraging metrics. In this episode of Podcasting Secrets with host Nathan Gwilliam, Mischa explains why one person getting value from 100 episodes matters more than download numbers, how podcasting built the confidence to speak to more than 200 people with only two weeks' notice, and an overlooked growth tactic of telling everyone you meet about your podcast and guiding them to follow immediately. With 39 years of sobriety and service in the recovery community, Mischa shows that consistency and service matter more than numbers or viral attention.Want to grow your podcast without relying on paid ads? Stop chasing vanity metrics and start showing up consistently for one listener at a time. Share this mindset with podcasters refreshing analytics dashboards without clarity. Mischa wühlt sich durch die Lachlabor-Kiste - warum? Heute wird das Spiel "Such das Kugelgelenk!" gespielt und was die beiden da alles finden. Das Supergelenk steckt in mehr als man denkt. Aber was wäre, wenn all unsere Gelenke solche Supergelenke wären?

Most founders think growth problems are marketing problems.Charles Gaudet doesn't.In this conversation, Charles breaks down why fast growth is often the most dangerous thing a business can chase — and why predictable growth is the real path to scale, peace, and long-term success. We talk about the Founder's Trap, why vanity metrics quietly kill good companies, and how many entrepreneurs accidentally become the bottleneck in the very businesses they built. Charles shares hard-earned lessons from scaling companies through uncertainty, including a pivotal COVID-era pivot, the role of gratitude and perspective in leadership, and why collaboration — not hustle — is the real unlock. This isn't just a tactical conversation. It's a reset on how founders think about growth, control, and what “winning” actually looks like.

Podczas gdy Mischa Ebner wygrywał wyścigi i brylował w mediach jako obiecujący młody sportowiec, Berno i okolice były sterroryzowane przez tajemniczego napastnika. Z nożem w ręku atakował kobiety, a jedną z nich pozbawił życia. Nazwano go „nocnym zabójcą”.

In this episode of A Table in the Corner, Russel sits down with Matt van den Berg, head chef at Mertia in Stellenbosch and one of the most quietly respected chefs in the Western Cape. Matt reflects on his unconventional path into cooking, from a BCom degree and life on yachts to training at Silwood and working in some of South Africa's most demanding kitchens, including The Test Kitchen and La Colombe. He speaks candidly about discipline, long hours, kitchen culture, and the pressure of stepping out from established restaurant groups to find his own voice. The conversation explores Mertia's evolving tasting menu, technical cooking, the challenge of simplicity, and what it means to build systems, teams and confidence in a small, highly focused restaurant. An honest, thoughtful discussion about ambition, self doubt, creativity and the realities of modern chef life in South Africa. For more on Mertia, click hereEvery booking is a first impression. In this episode of A Table in the Corner, I sat down with John van Zyl, chef and co owner of Melting Pot, one of Cape Town's most talked about contemporary restaurants. John reflects on his unconventional journey into food, from music and travel to working closely with Liam Tomlin, and how those years shaped his disciplined, process-driven approach to cooking. The conversation traces the evolution of Melting Pot from pop up dinners to permanent restaurants, exploring the freedom and pressure of cooking across cultures, the realities of running a growing team, and the tension between creativity and consistency. John speaks candidly about street food, technique, slow cooking, menu fatigue, and what it really takes to build a restaurant that feels alive, generous and grounded in experience. A rich, honest look at modern Cape Town cooking through the lens of one of its most curious and interesting chefs. For more on Melting Pot, click hereEvery booking is a first impression. In this episode of A Table in the Corner, Russel sits down with Tasmin Reid, the young, fiercely thoughtful chef behind Melfort, a seasonal farm to fork restaurant on Marianne Estate near Stellenbosch. Tasmin shares her journey from Silwood Kitchen to working with Ryan Cole at Salsify, her plans for Australia, and how an unexpected autoimmune diagnosis reshaped both her life and her style of cooking. Now the owner of a popular winelands restaurant, she speaks openly about healing through food, foraging, running pop ups on farms, building a kitchen team in the middle of nowhere and creating a menu that is as nourishing as it is delicious. This is a powerful conversation about resilience, seasonal cooking, youthful ambition and what it really takes to open a restaurant on your own terms.More about MelfortEvery booking is a first impression. In this episode of A Table in the Corner, Russel sits down with Chef Nathan Clark, head chef of Test Kitchen Fledgelings. Apologies in advance - the sound quality is not the best, as I had a few technical challenges, but Nathan's story is incredible. He shares his remarkable journey from scullery to running the kitchen, rising through the ranks of the Test Kitchen group over 13 years. He speaks openly about learning under Luke Dale Roberts and Jason Kosmas, mentoring young chefs through the Fledgelings programme, and the pressures of leading a busy service in one of the city's most important training kitchens. The conversation explores how menus are developed, how teams are built from the ground up, and the dishes that guests refuse to let leave the menu. Artsakh, also known as Nagorno-Karabakh, is a historic Armenian area located in the Caucasus Mountains. In 2023, Azerbaijan invaded and ethnically cleansed the millennial-old Armenian population. The so-called civilized West looked the other way. Looking away has been harder to do in Gaza because of the enormity of the Israeli attack and the sheer scale of death and destruction. The Israeli goal in Gaza and the Azerbaijani goal in Artsakh is cultural and physical erasure. Both Artsakh and Gaza are reported as though they are just happening in a vacuum. By not providing context and background, journalists are guilty of media malpractice. The recording was taken from a National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR)/ Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Lecture Series on Contemporary Armenian Issues webinar, co-hosted and co-moderated by Marc A. Mamigonian, Director of Academic Affairs at NAASR, and Henry Theriault, PhD, Associate Provost at Worcester State University.

We talk sustainable seafood, whole-beast cooking, creative menu development, and the philosophy behind Galjoen - named after South Africa's national fish and rooted in respect for the ocean. If you care about South African cuisine, sustainable cooking, restaurant culture, or simply love a good food story, this episode is packed with insights, warmth, and inspiration.Listen, like, comment and subscribe for more deep-dive conversations with the people shaping South African food culture. For more on Galjoen, click hereEvery booking is a first impression. Learn how to turn authentic connections into your competitive advantage against AI disruption. Authentic relationships are your secret weapon in today's AI-saturated marketplace, and this episode shows you exactly how to leverage them for predictable growth. I brought on Mischa Zvegintzov, host of a top 1.5% podcast globally, to discuss how podcast guest speaking creates real buyer-ready leads while everyone else is getting lost in artificial content that nobody wants to consume. Mischa Zvegintzov brings serious expertise as the founder of Influence Army Academy and host of a top 1.5% podcast globally. With his unique background spanning from Russian-German heritage to Wyoming upbringing, Mischa has developed a systematic approach to helping heart-centered entrepreneurs leverage podcast guest speaking to grow their authority, impact, and income through what he calls "Influence Tours." KEY TAKEAWAYS: Authenticity is becoming a competitive advantage as people actively reject AI-generated content and avatars in favor of real human connections. Podcast guest speaking serves as a "teleportation device" for building know, like, and trust faster than traditional marketing methods. The average podcast listener has a higher education level and annual income of $100,000-$125,000, making it an ideal audience for premium services. One long-form podcast interview can be repurposed into multiple content pieces including videos, blog posts, newsletters, and social media clips. It takes approximately seven hours of content consumption before someone becomes a buyer, and podcasts accelerate this timeline significantly. AI disrupts the buyer's journey by making authentic human stories and connections more valuable than ever before. Successful scaling requires focusing on one "front door" offer rather than overwhelming prospects with multiple services from the start. The key to product development is following the customer journey and solving the next logical problem they encounter after your initial solution. Three words stopped time.“Mom, I'm gay.”That moment cracked Heather Hester's world wide open — and from the mess came a movement. In this raw, electric conversation, Heather shares how she transformed fear into advocacy, pain into purpose, and compassion into a system that actually scales. We talk about:What really happens when your brand is born from heartbreakThe myth of “nice” versus the strategy of kindHow to operationalize empathy without losing authorityWhy the best leadership lessons often start at homeIf you've ever wondered how to stay soft in a hard world — or how to build something real after everything breaks — this episode will hit you straight in the gut (in the best way).
In this heartfelt and relatable session, Christine coaches Mischa—a high-achieving, only child who's used to getting what she wants and is now navigating a season where nothing seems to be going her way. After leaving a toxic job and experiencing disappointment in love, Mischa feels stuck in what Christine calls an expectation hangover: the emotional crash that comes when reality doesn't match our hopes. Together, they explore how unmet desires are not punishments but powerful invitations to grow. Christine helps Mischa see how her childhood pattern of being soothed by “getting what she wanted” now limits her ability to self-soothe and find peace when life doesn't deliver. This episode invites all of us to stop labeling difficult seasons as problems—and instead recognize them as sacred opportunities to develop resilience, self-worth, and inner stability. If you've ever felt like you're doing all the work but life just isn't “flowing,” this conversation will help you see that you are in flow—just on a deeper, soul-centered level. Consider/Ask Yourself Are you in a season where it feels like you just can't get what you want? Do you find your worth tied to achievement, attention, or validation? When life doesn't go your way, do you resist or allow yourself to feel the disappointment? What might shift if you learned to find safety and love within yourself—no matter what's happening externally? Key Insights and A-HAs Expectation hangovers aren't setbacks—they're realignments. True freedom comes when we stop needing things outside us to validate our worth. Discomfort is not failure—it's emotional strength training. We repeat childhood patterns until we consciously choose new responses. Flow isn't always about ease; sometimes it's about deep integration and recalibration. How to Deepen the Work When things don't go your way, pause and ask: “What is this season teaching me?” Sit with disappointment rather than rushing to fix or distract from it. Journal about times when you've equated love or safety with “getting what you want.” Practice self-validation by naming three things you're proud of—no external approval required. Reframe “stuckness” as a recalibration period where your soul is upgrading your inner strength. The first big weekend of the 2025 college football season did not disappoint, and on this episode Melanie and I discuss some of our favorite parts (not to mention our Side Eyes and I See Yous). It didn't hurt that both the Aggies and the Bulldogs were victorious, though admittedly, those wins weren't necessarily pretty. On top of that, Melanie offers an update on Caroline's new Costco membership, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.
