Y comenzaron a regocijarse.

The epistle of Y'hudah (Jude) verse 3 exhorts us:  “Dear friends, I was busily at work writing to you about the salvation we share, when I found it necessary to write, urging you to keep contending earnestly for the faith which was once and for all passed on to God's people.”  That faith includes the history of the God of Israel and His people as well as those who have been grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel through the death of the Messiah and his resurrection from among the dead.  The historical faith and these historical events don't depend on us, for our inheritance does not decay, spoil, or fade away; it is kept safe for us in heaven. We did nothing to receive this living hope.  But having received, it is now our duty and privilege to trust and act faithfully.  It's not something we earned; it's something we owe.

The U.S.-China Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement (STA), signed in 1979, was the first major bilateral agreement between the United States and China. Since then, it has been renewed multiple times and has facilitated China's integration into the global economy. However, experts agree that the agreement no longer reflects China's expanded scientific and technological (S&T) capacity, nor does it address U.S. concerns about China's S&T practices and policies. After two six month extensions approved by President, the STA expired on August 27th, 2024. Two experts discuss the geopolitical risks of solar geoengineering and the need for global governance frameworks to prevent conflict. --- Solar geoengineering, the deliberate modification of Earth's atmosphere to curb global warming, still seems like science fiction. However, research is progressing rapidly, and geoengineering's potential implementation has drawn the attention of the United States Congress, which has mandated a research plan to explore its human and societal impacts. On the podcast, two experts explore one of the least understood, but potentially weighty societal issues surrounding solar geoengineering, namely the potential for the technology to be the source of geopolitical tension and even war. Scott Moore, Practice Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, and Craig Martin, a specialist in public international law at Washburn University, discuss their forthcoming research that considers the uneven distribution of benefits and risks that would result from geoengineering, and how this might lead to conflict between countries. They also explore governance frameworks to help manage geopolitical tensions, if and when solar geoengineering is implemented. Scott Moore is Practice Professor of Political Science, and Director of China Programs and Strategic Initiatives, at the University of Pennsylvania. Craig Martin is a professor of law at Washburn University who specializes in public international law, in particular law pertaining to armed conflict and climate change. "Scott Moore is living proof that great players only get better with time. After 30+ years as a tennis player, he began playing pickleball competitively in 2013 and has since gone on to win the triple crown—not once, not twice, but six times. His aggressive playing style has earned him the fitting nickname “The Beast.” Widely regarded as the No. 1 senior male player in the world, Scott's success expands beyond his age category. In 2018, he and his son Daniel won the 19+ division at the Northwest Regional tournament in Bend, Oregon, and less than a month later, he and his son Jon won the Italian Open." --Paddletek "Scott has been ranked the #1 Senior male player in the world from 2014-present. He is a 6-time Major Triple Crown Winner and 20 time USAPA National Champion (6 gold medals in 6 events in 2016 and winner of 12 straight events from 2015-2017), 12 time US Open Champion (including 8 straight events) and 12 time TOC champion (including 10 straight events). Scott has taken his success in pickleball, and developed a comprehensive pickleball training program that he teaches all over the Western Hemisphere. He currently resides in Colorado with his wife, Susan. They have 4 adult children." --High Performance Pickleball Join Scott and me today as we discuss two of my favorite topics: pickleball and MINDSET! During our conversation we talk about: ✔ his backstory and current pickleball mission ✔ what it's like to play with his sons and wife ✔ just how important GRACE is on and off the court ✔ the mindset of a true winner and never underestimating your opponents ✔ what he does to stay fit and ready for play ✔ how his faith helps him to keep his medals and trophies in perspective ✔ The Pickleball Passion devotional that was just released! As soon as you hear Rod's voice, you will know immediately that he was destined for a career in broadcasting.Sportsnet president Scott Moore met with and told all the on-air talent, “You don't have to be a jerk to be a star. Just look at Rod Black.”One of Rod's favorite quotes is something his father used to tell him often. He would tell Rod, “If you find a job you love, you'll never work another day in your life”. Rod took that to heart and dropped out of college at the age of 19 to pursue his career in broadcasting and the rest, as they say, is history. More than 40 years later, Rod has reached the pinnacle of his profession and continues to fearlessly reinvent himself. In this episode, Rod shares pearls of wisdom hehas collected along his journey that have helped him in both his professional and personal life. Rod's enthusiasm and endless supply of positivity and energy are sure to inspire you to greatness. Some themes covered in this podcast include: 1. Community: Many people throughout Rod's personal and professional life provided him with “nudges” to discover and pursue his life's purpose. He is a firm believer in the need to have the right people around you.2. Resilience: You need to treat your lowest bottom as a trampoline and let it propel you to get back up and continue to move forward.3. Inner Voice: Pay attention to it. Whereas many people have a negative inner voice, Rod provides insight on how to foster a positive inner voice. Trust your own script.4. Acronyms for success: ABC, ICE, WIN, BED: Probably the foundation of Rod's personal belief system and something he learned very early from a coach. Listen for them in the podcast and write them down and keep them where you can see them every day.5. Feedback: Be willing to seek and accept criticism and feedback.6. Patterns: Your life is full of patterns. Invest the time to study, learn, and act based on what you learn from them.7. Service: Play it forward! Live a life of service to others. You may not have money to donate but there are many ways to invest in the lives of others.
