The Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial Series, USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, and Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado have joined together to offer USA Triathlon members a highly discounted entry to the KHMTT seven-week time trial series. They originally thought they might be able to ride across the interior of Iceland in one day. The packed enough food for 7 days...but it took 9. Smile Train's mission is to partners with compassionate athletes to help children with cleft lip and palate. We caught up with Kristina Kelkenberg and Julie Bengis of Smile Train before heading down to Ironman Arizona to support their team of athletes turn miles into smiles!
Kristin Louderback comes from a marathon background (2:48 PR at Grandmas Marathon in 2015, and is a fast learner with the swim and the bike. Kristin qualified for Kona at Ironman Boulder this June and enjoys the support of her husband Mike who has also raced Kona previously.

Endurance athlete, Kyle Coon, has pursued a life of adventure from a young age, including rock climbing, marathons and Ironman racing. What sets him apart is that he's completely blind. As he describes "Cancer took my site, blindness gave me vision and adventure/triathlon lets me live! After losing my sight at age six to a rare form of eye cancer, I pursued a life of adventure." He is now on the Race Across America (RAAM)as a part of a Visually Impaired, Team Sea to See. Ellen Hart is one of the most accomplished athletes anywhere. Early in her career she made the Olympic Trials, held an American record in running, and in the last few years as a multisport athlete has won many world championships and several marathons and other races. Raised in New Mexico with 7 brothers and sisters, a trained lawyer and along the way she was married to a high profile politician, had a Hollywood movie made about her battle with an eating disorder and has kept her wonderful composure and attitude and is a true ambassador of sport and life.
Race Director Sarah Nielsen of South Suburban Parks and Recreation shares the 2018 Tryathlon. The season kicks off this month with the Reverse Indoor Tryathlon January 28th. This is the perfect starting point to try a triathlon. Events will take place inside the Goodson Recreation Center on the running track, spinning bikes, and swimming pool. Having completed his first marathon 7 years ago, At 42 years old, Bryan Williams set out to complete the 490 mile Colorado Trail Run. Bryan took inspiration from Scott Jaime and worked with coach Cindy Stonesmith to prepare for this epic adventure that would take him over 13,000 foot passes and often getting only a couple hours of sleep each night. Bryan has the Fastest Known Time (FKT) of 8 days and 30 minutes.
