So many people want to put limits on our potential, but are we really going to just settle for someone else's opinion? Today, we talk about the unexplored potential inside of you and belief systems that will help you tap into it. Anything Is Possible might be overused as a phrase, but it's definitely not over attempted. Let's take a look inside at ways you're wasting your energy and potential. Let's look at how to be engaged in the process and not let a random race goal take up too much space in your brain. Do the work when resistance is highest. Do yourself the favor of turning all of this into a long term goal. Topics: International races Losing your phone Distractions Flying across the world to dominate like Blummenfelt and Knibb Where is Jan Frodeno? What your your possibilities? Having belief that you can get it done Are we going to settle for what others say? If you really want to get better . . . How protective are you of your personal journey? What if your biggest performance limiter isn't your fitness, but your nervous system? In this episode, Lawrence van Lingen shares a radically different lens on endurance performance, one that shifts the focus from traditional training metrics to fascia, breath, and vagal tone. Drawing from years of work with elite athletes like Andi Böcherer and Jan Frodeno, Lawrence explains how movement efficiency, recovery, and performance breakthroughs often come from restoring internal balance rather than pushing harder. We explore why breathing mechanics and nervous system health are foundational to performance, how simple practices like walking and crawling-like movements can create massive changes, and why many athletes struggle not from lack of effort but from an inability to absorb training. This conversation challenges conventional thinking and offers a new way to approach performance, recovery, and long term health.Today's speakers:Prof Paul Laursen https://www.paullaursen.com/Lawrence van Lingen https://www.lawrencevanlingen.com/https://www.youtube.com/@LawrencevanLingen

Torque and cadence are common features of cycling training programs, but how should you really train them to get the most out of your training? Peter Leo is a sports scientist and high-performance coach working across cycling (Team Jayco-Alula, Cycling Australia) and triathlon (coach of high-level short-course athletes), and since he's personally researched this topic, and applied it at the highest level, he's a perfect guest to answer this question. We also discuss training principles, including debunking some common misconceptions and mistakes made when applying training principles in practice. HIGHLIGHTS AND KEY TOPICS: The science behind the torque-cadence relationship Torque and cadence are performance limiters at different points on the power-duration curve Practical application of the science in different contexts (track and road cycling, short and long course triathlon), including specific workout examples Peter's view on three core training principles… Individualisation. What are the biggest factors behind needs to individualise training? Is individualisation overrated in certain contexts? Specificity. Is there an over emphasis on race specificity, compared to maximising core physiological capacities and general skills? Progression. What does effective progression really look like in triathlon and cycling training? Are amateur cyclists and triathletes adopting too aggressive progression rates? Evaluating response to training, AI and coaching, and Peter's top tips for the listeners to improve their cycling and triathlon performance. Ich feier Niclas a.k.a. This week we dive into a packed show, starting with a look at the Kona “wild cards,” the women outside the obvious favourites who could still make a big impact on race day. We then turn to Jan Frodeno, who swapped triathlon for trail and did something special at the Nice Côte d'Azur by UTMB, winning his age group over the 55 km course in his debut appearance. In race results we cover Ironman Chattanooga, the XTERRA World Championships, and Ironman Wales before recapping WTCS Weihai where Max Studer and Beth Potter took the wins. Finally, we look ahead to Supertri Toulouse and ask the big questions: can anyone stop Jeanne Lehair, and is Vasco Vilaça on track to win the entire series? Jan Frodeno was meant to race UTMB but had not qualified, and the wildcard entry he received has seen him cop a wave of online criticism. We talk through why the reaction came so hard and what it says about the way the trail scene handles elite entries. From there we look at one of the wildest endurance feats of the year, South African runner Sibusiso Kubheka covering 100km in 5:59:20 at the Adidas “Chasing 100” event. It will not go down as an official world record, but breaking the six hour barrier is a landmark moment for ultra running and we discuss why it matters. Supertri Chicago brought more drama, with Jeanne Lehair and Alberto Gonzalez Garcia taking the wins, Tyler Mislawchuk running brilliantly, and Georgia Taylor Brown showing strong form in the women's race. WTCS Fréjus sets up a massive showdown as Alex Yee and Hayden Wilde line up against each other again, while at T100 French Riviera Hayden backs up to race alongside Morgan Pearson, Jelle Geens and Jess Learmonth. In this episode of All Things Endurance, host Rick Prince chats with structural integration specialist, Dr. Lawrence van Lingen. Dr. van Lingen takes a holistic and systemic approach to running form due to his belief that nothing in the body functions in isolation. While some may view Dr. van Lingen's methods as contrarian in nature, they are evidence-based and get results - which may be why so many professional athletes seek out Dr. van Lingen. About Dr. Lawrence van LingenDr. van Lingen has helped thousands of people overcome pain and injury and enhance their sports performance and everyday well-being. He has over twenty years of experience in sports chiropractic, physical therapy, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, movement coaching, and breathing techniques. Lawrence is the founder of Innerunner, an online community with masterclasses, workshops, programs, and teachings that aim to transform your running and movement potential. He helps his running community and world-class athletic clients, such as Red Bull, Mr Price Running, Santa Cruz Syndicate and athletes such as Greg Minnaar, Ryan Sandes, Taylor Knibb, Jan Frodeno, and Flora Duffy, to name just a few, to run better, move better, and feel better. Areas covered in the podcast: 1. What is your background?2. Running gait is often solely viewed through the lens of the musculoskeletal system. Your take on it is different. Could you explain?3. In your opinion, do gait specialists in the US have a different view of how the body functions than elsewhere in the world?4. Why do you think more people don't have this systemic view of how the body functions and therefore, how running gait is influenced?5. Clearly, your model of viewing the mind/body as a whole differs greatly from most others. That being said, with respect to conventional gait analysis, what are some things that you feel they get right, and wrong?6. Are there some common reasons that you've found across working with a variety of athletes for gait issues?7. Do you ever encounter resistance from potential athletes with respect to your systemic view of the body?8. If you could give just a few pieces of advice for our listeners today with respect to improving their running form, what would it be?Lastly, what are some of the biggest and most common running form myths that you are aware of, and why are they myths?
