Our FINAL recording for Coffee with the Candidates is with the Mayor himself Jeff Cheney. Since neither of his opponents chose to come on the show, we opened up the conversation more about his experience as Mayor, and we discussed some of the topics we are dealing with in Frisco. We learned about his favorite projects over the years and what he really wants to accomplish before he leaves his role. We dived into the Universal Studio controversy and what to expect on the Downtown Frisco development. Members of the Leadership Frisco Class XXIV, Dan Peril and Kevin Rackers join the show to tell us about their upcoming fundraiser and class project. We can't "espresso" our excitement for this episode!

This week we invite FISD president Rene Archambault and past president John Classe on an in-depth discussion on the recent FISD hot topics. The discussion of appropriate books in our school libraries and the use of the public bathrooms for all students including LGTBQ students has become a focal point in the past year and we dive right in on what is causing the upsurge of concern. Come to find out… the bathroom issues go far beyond WHO is using WHICH bathrooms, but also what is happening IN the bathrooms. We were pretty surprised of the statistics. These topics are hot on the trail of our political far left and far right environments and really shows how our FISD board is balancing out the noise from each side to ensure they are creating the right learning environment for our children. Learn how they survived their opening days in business when the state shut down for COVID. A truly amazing story of determination and fortitude. There is so much more to Rollertown than beer, and community involvement is the cornerstone of their vision.
