DOING LIFE: Daily Devotions For Finding Peace in Stressful Times
Does your Christmas Spirit dissipate too quickly?
A happy and merry Christmas from everyone here at Revolution. Jay did a special Christmas Day talk for everyone, and we think it will perk you up more than salt in your coffee! Today Jay talks about the Christmas Spirit…but probably not in the way you're thinking. He focuses on trying to find a way for us to live the Christmas Spirit all year long—but we don't mean decking halls and sleigh rides, we're talking about the spirit of kindness that we almost all unify with for one day of the year. But if it can be done one day, it can be done all days! We just have to get there. Today Jay also discusses the idea of echo chambers. It's easy for us to see other's echo chambers and judge them while ignoring our own, but the truth is no one is exempt from echo chambers, we all have them and we're all part of them—they just look different. But the real paradox and conundrum we face is that even though no one is spared from being a part of an echo chamber…Christianity shouldn't actually be one…but it is. Jay looks at the letters of Peter and James today in discussing how we can hopefully swap out our personal echo chambers, and instead focus on the humanity of everyone. Because if we focus on that then maybe we can find a path to expand our ‘echo chamber' rather than be limited by it. If we see ourselves in each other, it makes it easier for us to be kind and gentle to all, and to treat everyone with respect. Unifying together is how we survive! By focusing more on our commonalities than on our differences. And in doing that, we learn how to become “curious, instead of furious” (thanks for great idea, Linda!)This talk was given on December 25, 2024 from Seattle, Washington.www.facebook.com/revolutionchurchmnwww.revolutionchurch.com/donatewww.youtube.com/revolutionbroadcasting@jaybakker@revolution1994@revolution94 Hosted on Acast. On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (12/25/24), Hank begins this special Christmas Day edition by recapping this week's special editions of the Bible Answer Man that featured his acronym, CHRISTMAS. Hank also poses the question: do you have the Christmas spirit? In fact, what is the Christmas spirit? More than the feeling of happiness experienced when we receive a gift or a bonus. The true spirit of Christmas is a spirit of selfless giving, like the Lord Jesus Christ who humbled himself for our sake and gave us the greatest gift of all.

Listen to the ROSARY, Here and pray the Love every day! You're feeling absolutely fantastic this morning! But not for the reason you think. You don't feel good because it's Christmas Eve. You don't feel good because you know what's under the tree, or even because you're off work or have no professional Zoom meetings tomorrow (likely for a whole week!), or that your favorite food is being prepared, or that your playlist is FIRE and the Temptations are going in on ‘Silent Night'.All of these things may very well seem to be happening, but they're not causing that quiet-Joy you're aware of. You're just presently in alignment... allowing yourself to feel good, to experience God. You're currently BEing your true Self! This is your natural state— one of uncaused joy, ease, love, relaxation and peace. What people call ‘The Christmas Spirit' is your original nature, and you can feel this way even on your first day back to work, if you give yourself permission.God didn't come closer this morning, and It won't get further away next week. We just changed the way we are living in this moment. And now we must keep living this way... remembering to recognize that the Light is ALWAYS on inside. That we are this Light. If you can stop waiting for special occasions to remember this background Joy, to feel Go(o)d, to be yourSelf, your life will change drastically from the inside out and very rapidly. Merry Christmas to you! I hope it's filled with love and music, and that 2025 brings you all the best. This third Christmas episode really leans into the music and poetry of the season. In it I share a scene from a classic Western Christmas story, some vintage audio from a 1987 Wheatland WY radio show, a Christmas poem I wrangled off the internet, as well as contemporary music by a young Mennonite choir in my community. SEASON 10 The Learning Leader Daily Leadership Tips and Discussions Thank you for listening. I'm Paul Grau Jr., the host of this show, and I'm excited about Season 10. This season will focus on “The Learning Leader” and/or as we refer to it here at The CLC Team, “The Expanding Leader. Every episode will primarily focus on the lifelong journey of expanding your knowledge of leadership, and I will try to give you a daily takeaway to put what you learn into action. My goal is that you learn something that you can take immediate action on, and see how powerful expanding your leadership can be. Influencing Others begins with you! How are you influencing others by the way you carry yourself and by your character? What expectations do you have for yourself?... for your family members?... for people your work with and around? Today's episode mentioned the book The Art of Influence: Persuading Others Begins With You by Chris Widener. I highly recommend this book for you and your team to go through together and to talk about every paragraph because there are leadership lessons on every page! MORE Books below. Have you ever wondered why it's so difficult for a group of leaders to norm or be consistent? Well, it's because every leader is unique and has their own style and way of leading their team. By coming together and forming a bond in your organizations leadership team, you can begin norming better than ever before. I use the DISC assessment with every client and team I work with and have found it to be a real game-changer for the entire team. This is certainly no different when you have a group of leaders together. In order for them to work together in unison, they have to begin by knowing each other very well. That's where the DISC comes in, so I will mix the DISC behavioral styles in throughout this series. I am a DISC Certified Trainer and Consultant and have worked with behavioral styles for over 20 years. I am certified through the John Maxwell Leadership Team and have worked with hundreds of teams. If you are interested in having me work with your team leaders or if you want to purchase a DISC assessments for yourself and your team, please contact me via email at Paul@CLCTeam.com If you want to dive in deeper, here are some great books to read and study about the behavioral styles: “Surrounded by Idiots” by Thomas Erikson https://amzn.to/4gphp0D “Full Spectrum Success: Living and Leading in True Color” by Jacob Adamo https://amzn.to/3zglV0A “The Four Tendencies” by Gretchen Rubin https://amzn.to/4dVCMVB “Wired That Way” by Marita Littauer. https://amzn.to/4dZHXUj “Personality PLUS” by Florence Littauer. https://amzn.to/4d1jQmT Please listen daily (Mon – Friday) as Paul focuses on not only giving tips about how to be a great leader, but also a leader who is respected, a leader who people want to follow, a leader who can confidently navigate their way through both personal and professional challenges, a leader who is not afraid to share their faith while living it out, a leader who knows his/her purpose and lives to fulfill that purpose every day, and a leader who has no regrets! In this episode, Bob ‘n Joyce talk about the emotional highs and lows that surround the holidays. At a time when people feel compelled to be joyful, the holidays can also be a profoundly sad time. Today, we explore the power of expressing both the negative and positive emotions on any given situation or topic. We use the context of the holidays but it applies to most life circumstances and especially to the workplace. Today's episode was intended to express the positivity and joy of the season. Instead, Bob ‘n Joyce expose both the magic and hurt of the holidays. It was a cathartic conversation that was just what we both needed. We think you will too, so: Come on in. Grab a holiday snack. Welcome!

James Bond does not quite trade in his Aston Martin for a sled and eight tiny reindeer, but he does show up at Christmas time with some presents for your stockings. Following a long tradition of unconventional Christmas Selection for the December MOTM, James Wilson of "Blogging By Cinema Light" suggested, and the community voted for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", the sixth 007 adventure. Matthew Simpson of the "Awesome Friday Podcast" joins the show to talk about the new Bond, George Lazenby, the best Bond girl Diana Rigg, and whether this really is a Christmas movie. We never need much encouragement here to talk about a Bond film, and the three people on the show have lots of opinions. James provided a game as well and our exit question concern the 007 franchise. You don't need all the time in the world, just about 90 minutes will get you in the 007 Christmas Spirit.
Here are 3 Big Things to start this hour— Number One— So where will the Axe be swinging first when the Doge Boys get to town? Elon and Vivek are ready to start chopping—and they have a lot of ideas of exactly where to start—what would you suggest? Number Two— In Western North Carolina—FEMA has failed according to those that live there—private charities have done more than the government—no surprise—BUT no matter what—the Christmas Spirit is alive and well Number Three— Where are they coming from—why is the government lying to us?

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales has gotten into the Christmas spirit with the Passage charity, where he served Christmas lunch to those experiencing homelessness. The Black Lincoln Collective Comedy Podcast: Episode #83 on PopCulturePros (or #168 if you're counting in dog years)Title: Pot Belly Pig Season'Tis the season… for technical difficulties, Schrodinger's Cat debates, and Fred pretending to be a financial guru! This week on The Black Lincoln Collective Podcast, Matt, Fred, and Allan battle the Christmas Spirit (of malfunctioning equipment) to bring you another round of chaos, myth-busting, and highly questionable insights.First up, we tackle some of life's biggest mysteries: Is that Chinese restaurant sign really saying what you think it says? Are we living a lie about the tallest mountains? And just how many senses do we actually have? (Spoiler: More than five, less than a Jedi.)But just when you thought things were almost educational, Fred hijacks the show with his definitely legit stock market and crypto analysis, breaking down pump-and-dump schemes with the confidence of a guy who just watched one YouTube video. Then, it's a full-on nostalgia trip as we reminisce about forgotten 90s cartoons and the sheer ridiculousness of middle school basketball games (where everyone thought they were Jordan). And because no episode is complete without a curveball, we dive deep into potbelly pig season—yes, it's a thing—and ponder the economic feasibility of adopting one of these chonky legends. Because, honestly, why not?All that and more, only on Episode #83. Tune in now—before Fred convinces you to invest in CryptoPigs.
Send us a textDo you remember the Christmas movie Mixed Nuts from 1994? We remember almost nothing about this movie, and with a stacked cast like this—Steve Martin, Madeline Kahn, Anthony LaPaglia, Juliette Lewis, Liev Schreiber, Rita Wilson, and Adam Sandler, to name just a few—we are worried about why we haven't seen it since the 90s. We hope it was ahead of its time and is a lost Holiday Gem but we wouldn't bet our Christmas Stocking on it. So join us as we go back to the 90s for a Christmas Surprise or the Ghost of Christmas Future. You know, the one where life sucks, everybody is miserable and the main character dies. Much like our Christmas Spirit if this movie sucks.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Sign up for The YLF30 Email here: https://yourlevelfitness.com/ylf30-email. In this episode, I share a story about a weekend adventure with Heather that didn't go as planned. We attempted to visit a Christmas village, but traffic and crowds led us to a spontaneous journey through holiday-themed stores instead. From early Christmas decorations to a charming pickle shop, we explored new places and reflected on the value of adapting to life's unexpected moments. Join me as I talk about the importance of flexibility, soaking in life's joyful experiences, and balancing life's pace with moments of appreciation.
