The Fan of History podcast is an absolute gem for anyone with a love for ancient history. From the moment I started listening, I was captivated by the wealth of knowledge and entertaining banter between hosts Dan and Bernie. The podcast has quickly become one of my favorites, and I eagerly anticipate each new episode. Even my friends, coworkers, and even my 12-year-old son can't escape me sharing fascinating historical tidbits that I've learned from this podcast. It's clear that Dan and Bernie put a lot of effort into their research, constantly uncovering new information that refreshes our understanding of the past.

One of the best aspects of The Fan of History podcast is its ability to present ancient history in a non-linear manner, describing worldwide events as they occurred. This unique approach allows listeners to gain a broader perspective on historical events and how they interconnected across different civilizations. The level of research undertaken by the hosts is truly impressive, especially when it comes to more remote timeframes. As someone who considers themselves a history buff, I am continually learning new things from every episode.

However, while the podcast overall is excellent, there are some minor drawbacks worth mentioning. One aspect that could be improved upon is the engagement and probing nature of the co-hosts during discussions. They sometimes come across as more passive listeners rather than active participants in the conversation. Nonetheless, this small drawback is easily compensated by their ability to internalize and provide insightful commentary on various topics.

In conclusion, The Fan of History podcast is an educational and entertaining experience for history enthusiasts like myself. The hosts do an exceptional job in presenting verifiable sources for further exploration while keeping listeners engaged with their witty banter and infectious enthusiasm for the subject matter. If you have any interest in ancient history or simply have a thirst for knowledge, I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen - you won't be disappointed!
