El director de migración ofreció ayer unos números que son la mejor evidencia de la cháchara nacional frente al problema de la migración haitiana.Que un general uniformado ofrezca del dato de que en once años han sido deportados 1,177, 813 haitianos dejan muy mal parados a los generales que debieron evitar que cruzaran la frontera o que han hecho negocio dejándolos cruzar.Si usted divide un número entre otro le dará que en promedio cada año se han deportado 107 mil haitianos. Eso indica que el numero de deportaciones por mes ha promediado los 9 mil.Hay preguntas que nadie quiere hacer y yo preguntaría cual es la proporción de haitianos que ingresan al país en relación a quienes salen.También preguntaría cuánto ha aumentado  la migración en proporción a la crisis de seguridad pública del país vecino.Aquí en Costa Rica el presidente de la República dice exactamente lo mismo que el dominicano y que la mayoría de sus pares en el mundo que ante la falta de respuesta a los problemas de la gente le echa la culpa a la migración. En este caso a los nicaraguenses. Aunque por lo que he visto, pedigüeños e indigentes que andan por la calle son locales.Aquí no hay paramilitares escoltados por policías y el tema de los derechos humanos es difícil de cuestionar en un país con uno de los mejores sistemas de educación y salud de la región.La diferencia es que hay políticas definidas, por ejemplo, no se  puede obtener un documento de presencia legal en el país, hay varias categorías, sin cotizar a la caja del seguro social.Los Nicas y los indígenas panameños que están aquí con permiso de trabajo cotizan en el sistema y por tanto no son una carga para el estado.Sin quererlo el director de migración nos ha desnudado en la hipocresía pero ese es el problema de los números.El profesor Cesar Pérez ha dicho lo que todos saben: que las medidas migratorias del presidente Abinader son un viaje a ninguna parte, pero el turco se siente cómodo con las hordas que lo alaban, que disfrutan del maltrato de un niño o de una mujer gestante y que sobre todo estigmatizan a quienes pedimos sentido común.Felipe Neri escribió hoy en el Listin Diario algo curioso para algunas mentes:Ahora me entero de que trabajando como obreros –mal pagados y sin seguridad social– construyendo edificios en la avenida Anacaona, sembrando arroz en el Bajo Yuna, plantando café en las montañas de Cambita, Barahona y Ocoa, sembrando y picando caña por cien años en los ingenios, cultivando hortalizas en los invernaderos de Rancho Arriba, Constanza, Jarabacoa o San Juan, se pone en peligro la soberanía.Por cierto los sin oficio del congreso crearon ayer el día de la soberanía, una nueva jornada de cháchara para en el camino ellos hacer sus negocios.

Con una trayectoria de más de 50 años en los escenarios iniciada en La Habana de la segunda mitad de los años 30 del siglo XX como vocalista del trío García y el septeto "Anacaona", comenzamos recordando a Graciela Pérez. Las numerosas grabaciones con que esta cubana atemperó el frío clima newyorquino desde los primeros años 40, siendo parte de la banda de "Machito y sus Afrocubans", bajo la conducción musical del gran Mario Bauzá, fueron el resultado de la evolución de una intérprete espectacular. Graciela Pérez no sólo fue la voz femenina de los Afrocubans. A la par de su hermano Machito, sus tremendas condiciones naturales para asumir con el mismo desenfado y sabor una guaracha, un son montuno, una guajira, o un bolero, le permitieron convertirse en figura indispensable de la delantera vocal de una banda que generó el sonido más progresivo de su tiempo en la ciudad de los rascacielos. Unos minutos más junto a Graciela Pérez, una precursora como lo fueron María Teresa Vera, Rita Montaner, Paulina Álvarez, Justa García, Celia Cruz y La Lupe, entre otras tantas figuras femeninas de nuestra cultura, resueltas a entregar lo mejor de su arte en los escenarios de Cuba y el mundo. A 15 años de su fallecimiento en Nueva York el 7 abril del 2010, el escenario de sus grandes triunfos, seguimos recordando el arte de esta formidable cantante cubana. Las jazz bands que llegaron de los Estados Unidos para establecerse en los salones bailables de la isla, finalizando los años 20 del siglo XX, comenzaron entonces un importante proceso de "cubanización" desplazando sus originales "fox trots" por géneros criollos tales como guarachas, sones, guajiras, afros y boleros. La "CMQ Big Band", en pleno Madrid, revalida la sonoridad de las jazz bands cubanas. El entusiasta impulsor de un proyecto de tal envergadura continúa siendo el pianista Luis Guerra, talentoso músico, admirador del legado de aquellos grandes alquimistas de la música cubana que, en décadas pasadas, asumieron ese formato orquestal: Antonio Castro, Anselmo Sacasas, Pérez Prado, Ernesto Duarte, Bebo Valdés, Julio Gutiérrez, Armando Romeu, Pedro Vila, Adolfo Guzmán o Rafael Somavilla, por sólo citar algunos nombres. Siempre un lujo sintonizar la histórica señal de la radio independiente cubana. En 1937 la Radio Cadena Suaritos heredó las instalaciones de la antigua CMQ Radio, ubicadas en la calle 25 marcadas con el número 1111 en el Vedado. Desde esa fecha hasta 1954, sostuvo una incesante labor en pro de la difusión de la música popular. Sus peculiares comerciales, el apoyo al talento naciente, la contratación de figuras nacionales e internacionales, y la inmensa producción de grabaciones originales en sus estudios, convirtieron a Radio Cadena Suaritos en una de las preferidas de los radioescuchas dentro y fuera de la isla. En su variado elenco artístico: María Teresa Vera y Lorenzo Hierrezuelo. Sonidos históricos que nos devuelven aquellas producciones de Laureano Suárez, el díscolo y eficiente anunciante que con muchísima gracia e ingenio, acumuló un tesoro sonoro invaluable, teniendo en cuenta el amplísimo desfile de estrellas nacionales e internacionales ante los micrófonos de su emisora. Pepita Embil, notable soprano española, madre del tenor Plácido Domingo, como integrante de la compañía "Cabalgata" presentó credenciales como otras tantas figuras de ls vieja Europa en la descollante radio cubana. Programaciones reflejando inequívocamente, el espíritu de progreso y prosperidad de la nación por aquellos años. Le seguirá Angelillo, otro valioso intérprete español. El son y la guaracha tuvieron en la programación de Suaritos un lugar privilegiado. Miguelito Díaz, ex integrante del Trío Pinareño, con el respaldo de "Los Cumbancheros" antecede a Panchito Riset, una de las voces altas de la música popular cubana. El pasado 19 de febrero se cumplieron 62 años de la muerte de Beny Moré. El "Sonero Mayor", el "Bárbaro del ritmo", continúa siendo uno de los exponentes más representativos de la era dorada de la música popular cubana. En estos tiempos donde cualquier expresión de nuestra música (por veterana que sea) sigue siendo deliberadamente "encapsulada" bajo la etiqueta comercial de "la salsa", vale la pena regresar, una vez más, al legado del Beny, tan auténtico como imborrable aún desde sus primeras grabaciones con el conjunto Matamoros allá por 1945. En plena década del 50 hacía ya unos cuantos años que el matancero Pérez Prado había triunfado en México con el mambo cuando Beny Moré, de regreso a la isla, ya al frente de su propia banda, le cantaba a la actriz italiana Silvana Mangano. El Beny, como el público cubano en general, con esa tendencia a dejarse seducir por la belleza femenina, reverenciaba la sensualidad de la Mangano como antes lo hiciera con las celebradas rumberas del llamado "cine de oro mexicano", entre ellas la recientemente desaparecida Yolanda Montes. Con su figura exhuberante, sus subyugantes coreografias y el exótico nombre artístico de "Tongolele" reinó por largos años en las pantallas cinematográficas, encendiendo los corazones de más de una generación de cubanos. "Mangolele", un son montuno de Beny Moré grabado con la banda de Pérez Prado en México, nos conduce a una inolvidable intervención de Celia Cruz en el show "Cascabeles Candado". El 11 de junio de 1951 en la CMQ RadioCentro la acompañó por supuesto la Sonora Matancera. Así le rendimos un tributo muy especial a "Tongolele", la legendaria bailarina fallecida el 16 de febrero de 2025. Unos minutos para recordar a Felo Martinez en el aniversario 95 de su natalicio. El 19 de febrero de 1930 nació en La Habana y ya con apenas 20 años parecía estar predestinado a formar parte de emblemáticas agrupaciones como el conjunto del pianista Luis Santí, el Conjunto Casino, y las jazz bands Hermanos Castro y Casino de la Playa. Los catálogos de las etiquetas Panart y RCA Víctor nos permitirán recordar a este cantante de los buenos quien destacó lo mismo interpretando guarachas, montunos y boleros. Puesto que una nación sin memoria no tiene futuro posible, insistimos en el importante ejercicio de recorrer, una y otra vez, el riquísimo catálogo sonoro de Cuba. Así vuelven a cantar algunas de aquellas notables voces femeninas de las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Hoy felizmente preservadas gracias al empeño de coleccionistas como Pablo Carrillo, José Yrabien, Nelo Sánchez, Manuel Villar, Felix Riera Salas, Luis Rovira, entre otros tantos maestros que harían esta lista interminable. Durante años, gracias a su importante labor de rescate, preservación y difusión, algunas de estas memorias sobrevivieron entre aquellos grandes archivos de la nación que hoy siguen siendo abandonados a su suerte, destruidos por la indolencia institucional. She obtained her MFA in Poetry from NYU's Poetry program in Paris and holds a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University, and a BA with a double major in Social Anthropology and Journalism/Creative Writing. Un joven de 30 años de edad perdió la vida el pasado fin de semana, al caer del cuarto piso del residencial Shaddai, ubicado en la avenida Anacaona, en el Distrito Nacional.

Buen recuerdo para Graciela Pérez. Radicada en el Nueva York de comienzos de los años 40, se convirtió en la carismática voz que por más de cuatro décadas identificó, junto a Machito, la sonoridad de los "Afrocubans", una de las bandas más progresivas de su tiempo bajo la batuta musical de Mario Bauzá. Como parte inicial de su recorrido artístico recordamos la presencia de la juvenil Graciela en formaciones habaneras de importancia. Entre ellas la celebrada agrupación femenina "Anacaona" que, finalizando los años 30s, pasaba del septeto de sones al jazz band. Sus formidables cualidades interpretativas, acompañadas de un notable desenfado escénico, le abrieron muy pronto las puertas del éxito. Si en la Habana de mediados de los años 40, el más influyente de los cantantes cubanos: Orlando Guerra "Cascarita", triunfaba en el show radial "Pinilla" incluyendo en su repertorio el son montuno del compositor Blanco Suazo "Esto es lo último", en la ciudad de los rascacielos Graciela arrebataba al público latino y norteamericano con una original versión que ha quedado para la historia con otro título: "Mi cerebro". Unos minutos más junto al recuerdo de la tremenda Graciela Pérez quien falleció en Nueva York, la ciudad de sus grandes éxitos, el 7 de abril de 2010, a los 95 años. "Aquellos a quienes los dioses aman mueren jóvenes" sentenciaba Menandro, el antiguo escritor griego. Con la temprana muerte de Amado Borcelá, bien conocido en el ambiente musical de la frontera de los años 50 a los 60 como "Guapachá", la música popular, y en especial el jazz, perdía a uno de sus más grandes exponentes. Hoy rescatamos a Guapachá repasando el catálogo RCA Víctor. Así reproducimos una de sus primeras grabaciones acompañado por la banda de Bebo Valdés y el trío de Luisito Plá. Sus trabajos para el mundo del disco con Bebo fueron el puente perfecto para que Guapachá comenzara a colaborar, a comienzos de los años 60, con Chucho Valdés. Acompañado por el quinteto de jazz del joven pianista grabó un repertorio considerable editado por la etiqueta estatal Areito. Buen recuerdo para Amado Borcelá, el más guapachoso de los pioneros del jazz cubano. Cachao López se despidió del siglo XX en grande, gracias al decisivo apoyo del actor Andy García, devenido productor de dos formidables álbumes donde intervinieron además otros valiosos músicos. En su doble faceta de instrumentista y arreglista, revisitó un selecto y cubanísimo repertorio. En el mes de octubre de 1993 comenzó a trazarse el destino de estos sonidos que al año siguiente el emporio discográfico Sony Music editó bajo el emblema "Cachao Master Session". Casi en la despedida seleccionamos algunos tracks de esta formidable producción. Andy García intervino poniéndole voz y sentimiento a la conga "El Alcalde", sentido homenaje a su terruño Bejucal y especialmente a su padre René J.García. Adaptación del poema de Federico García Lorca "Son de negros en Cuba" con arreglo musical de Cachao. En 1954 hacia mucho que los años de gloria del gran Abelardo Barroso habían quedado atrás. Era cosa del pasado aquellos tiempos maravillosos de los años 20 cuando la fiebre del son se adueñaba de los salones bailables y el sonero entonaba sabroso poniéndole voz a los toques y alambres del "Habanero" y el "Nacional". Con el respaldo comercial de "Puchito", la etiqueta de Jesús Gorís, Barroso con la orquesta "Sensación" volvía al ruedo, y está vez para siempre. Un repertorio más bien clásico, donde Barroso retomó algunos de los viejos sones que solía cantar, le permitió reafirmar su sitial entre los grandes soneros de la escena cubana, extendiendo su ya longeva trayectoria hasta su retiro de la música, pocos años antes de su muerte. Con Abelardo Barroso y la orquesta "Sensación" de Rolando Valdés, nos despedimos.

Deuxième volet : Avec les animaux Lucie a une ferme, elle élève des animaux et mange leur viande, leurs œufs et le fromage fabriqué avec leur lait. Mais elle se sent proche d'eux, elle les respecte, elle cohabite avec eux. Em' elle, est maraichère, elle ne consomme aucun produit issu de l'exploitation animale, pour elle c'est impensable. Toutes les deux sont paysannes et féministes, et elles participent à des réflexions autour de l'accès à l'alimentation pour toutes et tous. Malgré leurs différences, elles cherchent à dessiner les lignes d'un écoféminisme paysan de terrain, en lutte contre le modèle agricole dominant et patriarcal et en harmonie avec la nature. Dans ce deuxième volet consacré aux luttes paysannes, Lucie et Em' racontent leurs parcours respectifs, leur rapport à la nature, aux animaux, à leur métier. À travers leurs voix, cet épisode s'interroge sur l'articulation entre luttes paysannes, luttes féministes, et luttes contre le spécisme (concept plaçant l'espèce humaine au-dessus de toutes les autres). Justo el día en que las iglesias dominicanas piden a aprobación de un Código penal sin derechos para mujeres y otras minorías en Canadá se aprueba una indemnización de más de dos mil millones de dólares en favor de las comunidades indígenas separadas de sus hijos muchos de los cuales murieron en las escuelas en que las iglesias los cristianizaban o los mataban. Estos dos días en que por una modesta transmisión de un aspecto de nuestra cultura he sido advertida del fuego del infierno por parte de fanáticos religiosos protestantes me hacen reflexionar sobre las dimensiones del cielo y del infierno. Desde noviembre del año pasado en el mundo vivimos 8 mil millones de personas de las cuales solo 800 millones son protestantes. El resto de los cristianos es católico. Hay 1, 900 millones de musulmanes, 1200 millones de hinduistas, mil millones de chinos que no profesan ninguna religión, 400 millones de budistas, otros 250 millones de chinos que profesan alguna creencia local, 100 millones de japoneses sintoístas, 75 millones de taoístas y 30 millones de sijs. Todos arderemos en el fuego del infierno. Ninguna guerra ni ninguna plaga ha provocado más muertes que las declaradas en el nombre del señor. Cuando Nicolás de Ovando ahorcó a Anacaona que en ese momento era cacica de Maguana y Jaragua o sea la líder de media isla de Quisqueya, solo lamentó que había muerto sin ser bautizada. Anacaona se fue al infierno y Ovando controló sus dos cacicazgos. En los primeros 20 de la cristianización de esta isla se acabó la población indígena. Los encomenderos bautizaron a los indígenas y los explotaron hasta morir. Un censo del momento llamaba la atención sobre el hecho de que las indias habían dejado de parir. Neruda los dice mejor que yo: Estos conquistadores españoles / que llegaron de España con lo puesto / buscaban oro, y lo buscaban tanto / como si les sirviese de alimento. / enarbolando a Cristo con su cruz / los garrotazos fueron argumentos / tan poderosos que los indios vivos / se convirtieron en cristianos muertos. Pero entonces descubrieron la esclavitud y en el nombre de Cristo trajeron a millones de negros de África y ustedes conocen la historia que dividió esta isla o por lo menos algunos la conocen. Eran cristianos los que se apropiaron de Africa y la dividieron conforme sus intereses hasta extremos que aun no han sido superados. Livinston llegó a Africa con una Biblia y un código de comercio. Los Estados con mayor calidad de vida son los estados laicos donde prevalece el derecho y los derechos como norma de entendimiento colectivo. Hace par de años que el premier canadiense, respecto a los derechos sexuales y reproductivos, dijo que el estado no tiene que meterse en tus aposentos o en tu cama. Aquí hoy la prensa reporta la insistencia religiosa en normar el colectivo sea este religioso o no. Todavía no entiendo como entiendo que en el nombre de su fe alguien crea que puede dirigir la vida de quien no profesa sus creencias. Ayer les dije que por primera vez excluiría gente de esta transmisión por razones de fanatismo. Hoy les sugiero a los fanáticos que se dedique a construir el cielo porque el infierno tiene que ser muy grande para que quepa el 90% de la población del mundo. Estoy convencida de que la inversión de tiempo y recursos para construir el infierno terminará beneficiándonos e iremos al limbo. Como estadísticamente los porcentajes se repiten supongo que el 10% de los dominicanos puros irá al cielo y el resto nos quemaremos en el fuego del infierno porque así lo decidieron los buenos.

Traductrice de profession, Paula Anacaona est auteure et passionnée de lecture. En 2009, elle fonde la maison d'édition Anacaona, une maison d'édition indépendante spécialisée dans la littérature brésilienne. La ligne éditoriale des éditions Anacaona est claire: mettre en lumière les littératures faites par les minorités, qu'elles soient raciales ou socio-économiques. Anacaona c'est quatre collections qui vont des romans témoins engagés ou historiques à  des essais sur le féminisme, en passant par l'antiracisme et la pensée décoloniale. La jeunesse n'est pas oubliée avec la collection Junior qui veut ouvrir les enfants à la différence, dès leur plus jeune âge. On retrouve des auteurs comme entre autres Djamila Ribeiro, Nadia Yala Kisukidi, Férrez ou encore Conceição Evaristo qui est considérée comme l'une des plus importantes voix de la littérature afro-brésilienne, et plus particulièrement des femmes afro-descendantes au Brésil. Le choix d'inviter Joohee s'est fait de manière très intuitive. Deux de mes grands-parents ont perdu des parents très jeunes et l'un d'entre elleux a peut-être passé plusieurs années dans un orphelinat. L'histoire n'est pas claire et je l'oublie souvent. Growing up, Mahalia Latortue says she had three career options — doctor, lawyer or engineer. But despite starting her undergraduate studies at Oakwood University in Alabama focused on pre-law, she graduated with a passion for filmmaking. Con la consigna “ayuda pidió y el sistema le falló”, miles de dominicanos se movilizaron ayer domingo en la “Marcha de las Mariposas”, una jornada en repudio a la violencia contra la mujer y a otras causas que rondan en torno a este tema.La caminata partió desde el Parque Mirador Sur y recorrió parte de la avenida Anacaona con destino al Centro de los Héroes.En la actividad fueron recordados los últimos casos de feminicidios ocurridos en el país, con énfasis en los asesinatos de noviembre, fecha dolorosa para familias que perdieron una madre, hermana, hija y abuela en acciones sangrientas de parte de parejas y exparejas sentimentales.En el recorrido también se recordó el asesinato de las Hermanas Mirabal, tres heroínas dominicanas que representaron la evidencia palpable de violencia política contra las mujeres, hace 59 años. Estos asesinatos dieron origen a la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia Contra la Mujer este 25 de noviembre.Al hablar en el acto, el comunicador Huchi Lora dijo que “no podemos seguir enseñándoles a nuestros hijos que los varones tienen unos derechos y las hembras otros”. Lora expresó que las autoridades dominicanas tienen que cumplir con su responsabilidad, específicamente en el caso de la justicia.

Il part pour Paris, où il étudie la médecine et se spécialise en neurologie et dans les troubles du langage, obtenant son doctorat en médecine en 1970. Puis un jour, le neurolinguiste devient poète vers l'âge de trente ans. «Je n'étais pas absolument conscient de ce que je faisais. Après, j'ai continué parce que je ne pouvais plus m'arrêter», explique le médecin-écrivain.Poète, essayiste, romancier et dramaturge, Jean Métellus a obtenu plusieurs prix littéraires. Le Prix André Barré en 1982, le Prix de la Fondation Roland de Jouvenel en 1984. En 2006, le Grand Prix international Léopold Sédar Senghor de poésie de langue française.  En 2007, le Grand prix de poésie de la Société des gens de lettres. Las orquestas femeninas de salsa tuvieron un boom a partir de los años 80, principalmente en Colombia y sobre todo en Bogotá y Cali. Pero antes de ellas existieron unas pocas pioneras y Latin Fever, organizada en Nueva York en 1977, fue una de ellas. Sus ejemplos fueron la mítica orquesta cubana Anacaona de los años 30, por supuesto, y también los grupos femeninos afroamericanos de soul y rhythm & blues de los años 60.  In honor of Women's History Month William Loren Katz will discuss warrior women like Colonel Carmen Robles from two of his 40 of  historical books! "Colonel Carmen Amelia Robles, an Afro-Mexican Woman Leader in the Mexican Revolution"!   Mexico provided a safe haven for black Freedom Seekers. Mexicans fought to prevent the spread of slavery in what is currently known as Texas. Anacana one of the first daring Indigenous leaders to mobilize her Tiano people against the European invasion of 1492 was a young woman poet known as Anacoana or "Golden Flower". As Spain's invaders tore her society apart, killed her relatives, and enslaved her people, Golden Flower rose to command the Tiano resistance. Her forces grew in strength and numbers when she united with the Africans who successfully resisted Spanish captivity.      Golden Flower was finally captured, and when she refused to assist the foreign invaders, she was executed. Reivindicado ante su público, tras una época oscura, como uno de los mejores cantantes de América Latina, miembro habitual de la Fania All Stars, uno de los artistas más exitosos del sello Fania gracias a Anacaona, y viviendo el auge de la salsa como género representante y unificador de la música del Caribe urbano, Cheo Feliciano lanzó en diciembre de 1973 el álbum Felicidades publicado por la filial de Fania, Vaya Records. Fue un éxito de principio a fin gracias, en gran medida, a la canción Mapeyé, un seis puro y auténtico, variante festiva hecha para la navidad.
