I was ghosted today, I meant to record a podcast with someone, but they never turned up - so I thought I would talk about ghosting, what its like, my opinion on different types of ghosting - and how to circumnavigate it in life - especially recruitment... off the back of this ironic ghosting. I also talk about the consequences of ghosting in recruitment.

Once a year, I try to do a solo podcast with my thoughts about the world of recruitment, life, and its meaning. In this podcast, I talk about how the 2023 market seems to be different, but then give my thoughts on why candidates are not moving. I also link a few thoughts on why we recruiters have a different outlook on life.

Some 9-10 months on, we caught up and chatted about the condition so far, how he is fairing, and what has changed? Plus the current situation with the Covid-19 and our feelings of the future. I get to speak too, in this podcast the Infamous Hannah Mays - who was mentioned on a previous podcast - with Kat Reid. Hannah works for SRG - specialising in the recruitment of scientific recruitment - and like all specialist recruitment - it requires a niche end search. We talk about that, and about her past too, working in pretty much every flavour of the recruitment sector from RPO to internal to External - and how she transitioned, and her past as a scientist!

This week I get to speak with a person I have got to know, whilst she has grown her career from finishing a Degree in Philosophy to by 26 being the Head of a Department in a growing IT company. Super long edition podcast - but well worth the listen - I get to speak to an awesome guy, I've been getting to know over the past few years - Tim Wood, who has some brilliant life stories, life hacks - and some funny anecdotes about life in general. Tim is a Knight, a Kung fu Panda, and an awesome writer - where he has joined forces to form a supergroup of Copy-writers called Hire Write Talent - with Sarah Potter & Kiera Tsenti. I promise this is worth a listen!

This episode - I get to chat with an awesome business owner, Robbie Sturgess, who is one of the owners of Quay Recruitment Group Limited down in Portsmouth. His business is grown from 2 people in Jan 2017 to 7 people in June 2019 - but importantly - this growth has been measured, and done - through the use of really solid training, and great leadership! And also - we rant about Brexit, and the state of play in our shared industry.

It’s not just about us self-employed lot, being good at personal branding, it's you guys employed to need to think about it. But how do you do it? I get to this week speak with a good friend of mine, Cameron McLennan about the “The Importance of Content marketing & Your Personal Brand” – See you don’t need to be self-employed to have a good personal Brand, and its all down to how you challenge your employer, and how they value what people like Cameron are doing for the bottom line. This is a great listen.
