– Merz. Beth, one of our absolute favourite ever guests is back! Since we last spoke Beth finished her book, released her book, and we've both read her book. So we talk a lot about that, the process of writing it and what we took from it. There are a few tangents and just general chat thrown in as well. If you haven't yet picked up a copy of her book we'd both highly recommend it!If you're enjoying the podcast and would like to help us keep the lights on without advertising then please do consider checking out our Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70353823Support the show

Why are so many endocrinologists burning out and leaving traditional medicine behind? Endo and artist Dr. Mike Natter shares an inside look at why many, including himself, are feeling overworked and exhausted. From grueling 70-hour work weeks to skipping meals and bathroom breaks, the pressure is relentless. Dr. Natter dives into the challenges of patient demands, endless paperwork, and the reality of being one of the lowest-paid medical specialties. We also explore why more endocrinologists are opting out of insurance and turning to concierge care and how he balances an industry focused on profits over patients, and his passion for helping people with the demands of a broken system.   T1D Exchange Registry Sign up  (US only)   Join our Newsletter | Diabetech Community Discord   Support Diabetech on Patreon   Follow Diabetech: Instagram | Tik Tok | YouTube | Facebook   Follow Mike Natter   DISCLAIMER: This podcast is not medical advice and is for educational purposes only.
