Joseff Gnagbo is the new Chair of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg (the Welsh Language Society - the radical pressure group which fought and won language status like roadsigns, S4C and Welsh language laws). But Joseff isn't Welsh - he's a journalist and academic and political activist from Côte d'Ivoire in west Africa who was given political asylum and found himself in Cardiff in 2018. In the capital he learnt Welsh and now teaches Welsh as a second language to adults - including asylum seekers.
