This episode we welcome master artist and musician Chuck BB to the podcast. Chuck is the creator of Stone Cold Lazy, a comic strip found in the pages of Decibel Magazine every month, and he co-created and illustrated the epic, Eisner Award-winning graphic novel Black Metal. We talk with Chuck about making comics, getting into metal, creating art for the game company Exploding Kittens and crafting his solo black metal album, Nosk of the Void. After the interview, Chuck helps us break down the latest in Metal News, then we dig into New Releases and What We've Been Listening To. We also give our initial impressions of the recent lineup announcement for the 2024 Decibel Metal and Beer Fest in Philly and we choose our favorite songs on Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind to celebrate the album's 40th anniversary. Plus, we fall down an 80s/90s action film hole, praising the punchery powers of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Ahnold, AND we count down our Top 5 Metal Album Covers of 2023. An explosive 5-hour flight with artist Chuck BB awaits you, dear metalheads. Whew! What a season it's been! In Season Three's first interview with Steven Wright, the groundbreaking comedian and long-time summer resident likened summers on the island to a book. Each summer- a volume in a series -that at the end of the season is closed and put on the shelf amongst the volumes from summers past. But before Rich and Marc put Summer 2023 on the shelf they recap the conversations had with some of the island's own. And what a season it was! From Edie Blaine's yarns from the days or yore to Bill Dunleavy's Barbara Streisand impression, Season Three of TGOBI saw the podcast grow exponentially once again thanks in no small part to Rich and Marc's in depth coverage of what has come to be known as "The Ballard's Debacle".But it wasn't all bad news. The sun was shining, the mudslides flowed and Block Island enjoyed another (mostly) idyllic summer albeit one with some growing pains. At any rate, thanks to our sponsors the two guys were able to deliver a blow by blow account of what went down during summer 23' via the (mostly) weekly Minipods in addition to introducing listeners to more of the folks that make our little paradise tick. Thanks for a GREAT season, listeners! In the words of Ahnold......we'll be bahk.

On the first day of December, Mike, d$, and #TwitterlessDrEarl kicks off the month of Festive Movie Cheer with the first of several Christmas episodes... and this one is a doozy, as the trio tries to determine the best Christmas movie role of all time.  And yes, this is part of the Big Bracket Canon, that being the winner advances to the 32 movie role Big Bracket, now tentatively planned for September 2023... Expect the long shots -- the JTTs and the Refs and those with handcuffs for the holidays.  And the classics, including Santa, good and Bad, and Clause, and a Prime Minister and both Sally AND Harry. And of course, the favorites, the Buddys, the Ralphies, the Kevins, the Clarks of the season. One by one, they are pitted against each other, with votes being cast to determine who moves on, who is out, and which Christmas movie character stands tall at the end.

Sarah Connor is back, but that doesn’t seem to be helping Terminator: Dark Fate at the box office. In fact, it’s a bit of a bomb so far (https://variety.com/2019/film/box-office/terminator-dark-fate-box-office-flop-1203391309/). That’s never stopped the Screeners from reviewing a movie before—but even more disappointing than the ticket sales is the fact that Chris couldn’t be here for this episode. Surely Arnold doesn’t have a chance for a good review now, does he? Maybe Cameron from Halt and Catch Fire can save the day, but we’re not holding our breath. Oh, and speaking of Ahnold, this is as good a time as any to look back over his storied film career for a Top 3 segment, right? As always, give us your picks over on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/screenerscast/) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/ScreenersCast/), and maybe we’ll pick a less financially disastrous movie to talk about next time.
