Annie is the Author of “Annie's Song: Dandelion, Dreams & Dogs,”, Book Reviewer, Author Interviewer, Teacher, Author Consultant, and Blogger at The Write Review & Co-Owner of World of the Write Review Book Club. Annie McDonnell is one of those rare people who always look for the rainbow in the storm's wake and uses her brokenness to help others by giving her heart to innumerable causes and being candid about what she's going through in the hope that her honesty will give solace to kindred spirits. Thirsty for love, Annie breaks herself open at points only to learn the hard lesson that sometimes the love she seeks won't ever come. Your heart will warm when you see her take on life. You will laugh, cry, and be moved. In this shimmering debut-a cross-genre blend of memoir, auto-fiction, magical realism, and poetry-Annie pours out her dreams, her loves, and her hopes along with her complicated grief compounded by betrayals, medical misdiagnoses, and innumerable losses that would break most people. Her determination to live a life of love, joy, and meaning despite her great suffering shines throughout the dark themes of many of her essays and poems. Annie, who is in the end stages of Stiff Person Syndrome and has several other rare diseases, writes with raw emotion about traumas from her childhood best friend's rape and murder to her own life-altering car accident at age 19 to her decades-long odyssey through a medical system where women's symptoms are frequently dismissed, misdiagnosed, and minimized. Annie's experiential memoir, for which she's provided QR codes linking to her favorite songs throughout, allows the reader to get a hint of what it's like living suspended between this earthly existence and the afterlife. This is her love song to trauma survivors, dog lovers, and love seekers. She lives each day and night knowing that her next breath could be her last and keeps her heart focused on heaven. This week we're trying to put together the best album we can for you to listen to, but we're only looking for songs that have a person's name in the title. Think My Sharona or Annie's Song. We added a little more difficulty to ourselves by blocking picks both by artist and by letter - so if somebody drafted My Sharona, nobody else could take any other song where the name in the title starts with an S. In 30+ years of writing songs, I've never had writer's block. If you've ever wondered what it takes to be a hit songwriter in Guitar Town, hit that download button because Karen Staley's story is filled with wisdom. Born in Weirton, West Virginia and raised in rural Pennsylvania, Karen was focused on athletics when she was growing up until she injured her back in her senior year of high school. It was a music teacher who gave her a guitar and taught Karen the chords to Annie's Song by John Denver and Karen just couldn't put that guitar down. Her steady rise in Nashville has included being a featured singer/songwriter at the famous Bluebird Cafe, touring and singing backup with Reba, Dolly and Faith Hill as well as writing about 1,000 songs, including mega-hits Take Me As I Am and Let's Go To Vegas for Faith Hill and Keeper of the Stars for Tracy Byrd. In this interview, Karen shares both the joys and frustrations of making a living as a songwriter, adding that her greatest hope is that in this life, she has used all of her God-given talents. #nashville #singersongwriters #bluebirdcafe #reba #faithhill

The album features "Make the World Go Away," "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Danny's Song," "Unchained Melody," "Flowers on the Wall," "Take It to the Limit," "Annie's Song," "Yesterday" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," and I haven't even listed them on.
