"Verizon Communications (VZ) is a high quality company trading at about half the valuation of the broader market. Verizon is currently in the midst of an investment cycle and market sentiment appears to imply the VZ stock will lose considerable market share in the current market. This is a unique opportunity for investors to get stable earnings from a high quality company at a significant discount with a yield of nearly 7%," says Austin Graff.
Rising interest rates have caused equity valuations to decline moderately, says Austin Graff. He discusses TrueShares Low Volatility Equity Income ETF (DIVZ). He talks about how DIVZ is only down 1% this year and some of its top stock holdings include UNH, JNJ, XOM, ABBV, and DVN. He then forecasts for a potential recession and notes what to expect from the markets in the second half of the year. Tune in to find out more.

New Mexico - or the land of enchantment, as some call it - is home to ancient cultures and breathtaking landscapes. The region has been continuously inhabited for over 1,000 years and some of the artifacts found in New Mexico date back to the time of the Egyptian pyramids. Unfortunately, due to prejudice against Indigenous and Hispanic people, Congress was hesitant to add New Mexico as a state. Join Sharon and Austin as they uncover how New Mexico became a state and explore the many wonders within its borders. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

My guest for this episode has found a wonderful way to meet one of the challenges that's reshaping the way we live. The cost of housing, especially in major cities — but increasingly in medium-sized ones as well — is making it incredibly difficult for people to put decent roofs over there heads. Austin Graff, who works for the Washington Post, where he contributes to On Parenting, is raising a toddler in a house with his wife and two roommates. We'll hear about how that arrangement came about and how it's working for them. Notes Love our work? Please check out our Patreon Campaign! Become a patron of the show for as little as $1 per month
