Sadly I cannot respond directly to your text, so please Email me!Okay, friends—NEW EPISODE! And we're back, for real this time. This episode is part update, part catch-up, and very much a heart-to-heart. If you're new here, welcome to the chaos. If you've been around a while, thank you for hanging in there while we hit the reset button and slowly rebuild our content from the ground up (shout out to YouTube for the boot, again…).In this one, we're talking about everything from our new dedicated studio space (finally!) and my keyholding offering, to what happens when FLR gets buried under life stuff—jobs, caregiving, second jobs, and trying to keep the damn bus organized. We also dive into ways to stay intentional in your dynamic when life is moving at 90 miles an hour and why small rituals, like kneeling affirmations or 5-minute phone-free check-ins, matter more than you think. Plus, we spill some tea about exciting content coming to TikTok, our first print-on-demand couples journal, and a game from Oxy-Shop you're definitely going to want to play...

This month, Press Record revisits questions about silence and rural segregation by taking a look at the Backways project one year later. The structure of this episode is a little different; the following half hour represents the highlights of two conversations with Rachel Cotterman, a field scholar here at the SOHP who is currently working on the Backways project. Rachel talks about silences in the archives, the legacy of Jim Crow in North Carolina, and what it means for her to do a research project close to home. We hope this episode gives you an inside look at some of the research going on here at the SOHP and the questions some of our field scholars are navigating in the process of doing oral history.
