Today we're diving deep into the wild world of credit cards and how the banking system might just be pulling the wool over our eyes! Our guest, Tommy Kilpatrick, brings a fresh perspective on how we've been indoctrinated into thinking that credit card debt is something we have to bear without question. He shares his personal journey from being buried under $85,000 in credit card debt to discovering that the banks might not even have a legitimate claim on those debts. We discuss the idea that many of us have been misled about what credit really means and how to reclaim our financial power. Get ready for some eye-opening insights and maybe a few laughs as we explore what it means to truly understand and navigate our finances in today's world!Takeaways: The banks often operate under a system that some view as fraudulent, where they manipulate money and debts without proper invoices or agreements, which can mislead consumers. Understanding credit cards is crucial; many people might not realize that they are often treated like gift cards, which leads to confusion about debt and financial responsibility. It's highlighted that consumer behavior, like applying for credit cards, can lead to a cycle of debt that benefits banks but leaves individuals financially vulnerable and confused. This conversation with Tommy A. Kilpatrick completely reframed how I see credit-card debt, banking systems, and financial sovereignty. Tommy shares how his $85,000 in "credit-card debt" mysteriously vanished after he took his case to federal court—without tax repercussions. He explains how modern banking practices create an illusion of debt, why language like "alleged credit-card debt" matters legally, and how you can reclaim your sovereignty by understanding financial fraud at its root. We also explore Tommy's decade-long vow of poverty, his spiritual awakening, and his current humanitarian work in the Philippines—teaching farmers to build bamboo domes, grow vertical gardens, and create self-sufficient communities. His vision for humanity is practical, creative, and profoundly spiritual. ✨ In this episode, we discuss: The spiritual transformation that led Tommy Kilpatrick to walk away from wealth What really happens behind the scenes in the credit-card system The language that binds us to financial illusions Sovereignty, faith, and the power of living by divine trust Tommy's blueprint for self-sustaining, debt-free communities If you're struggling with debt or yearning for true freedom, this episode offers a radical new perspective. Born and raised in California. Double major: Abnormal Psychology and Accounting. Author, teacher, entrepreneur, 28 year marriage ended, became homeless (on purpose) and vow of poverty (for 10 years), living on farms on the East coast and walks in faith with God. Tommy A. Kilpatrick wrote a book on health and healing and in 2004 he signed an infomercial contract. For six months he was booked on radio shows as a test and used his three credit cards to survive. There was another author who got into trouble with the FTC and our infomercial company. The new talent's contracts were cancelled and he was stuck with $85,000 of credit card debt. He sued his three banks in federal court, by himself. Did he win? Cases were dismissed by the judge. Did he lose? Well, the alleged debt was removed from his credit report and there was no 1099-C sent to the IRS. Kilpatrick believes people are suffering under $1.3 trillion of bank-issued alleged credit card debt, which is not a debt and can be eliminated by the bank within 45 days.

Vista Lane is a marriage of modern detailing and traditional forms. Its steep roof pushed low over the second floor mitigates the overall building height, while a select, few dormer windows expand the interior volume on the second floor and further contribute to the home's traditional character. In general, the architecture is sharply detailed and stripped of ornament. Interior moldings were replaced with gentle curves and rolled edges which are a tip of the cap to traditional detailing, while providing a decidedly modern aesthetic.Situated on a lot accessible by two opposite streets, the diagram is organized to restrict vehicular and ADU tenant access to the rear of the lot, while pedestrians enter from the front. Tommy Kilpatrick – Welcome to Tommy Kilpatrick's approach to dealing with bank-issued alleged credit card debt by challenging its legitimacy. After writing a successful book, Kilpatrick signed a contract with an infomercial company. For six months, he promoted his book, anticipating a huge monthly payout. However, that didn't happen. Kilpatrick was left with $85,000 in credit card debt. He was stunned and depressed until he had an epiphany: a bank-issued credit card isn't a true credit card, and no real debt exists because a promissory note was never signed. He then sued all three banks in federal court, representing himself. While the judge dismissed the cases, Kilpatrick still won. The entire debt was completely removed from his credit report, with no negative marks or tax implications. Kilpatrick's legal filings argued that because the banks had no invoice or promissory note, there was no contract and therefore no debt. With total U.S. credit card debt over a trillion dollars, Kilpatrick's story offers a compelling alternative. He explains how people can send a letter to their bank to close the associated checking account and potentially become debt-free within 45 days. In part two of our special with The Athletic's Dan Kilpatrick, Jack puts your questions to him in a wide-ranging Q&A. Dan reflects on whether he misses the “tier one” status of being a Spurs beat reporter, shares the story behind his most accurate piece of transfer news, and talks about how his final exchange with Ange Postecoglou might have influenced his reporting. He also gives his verdict on Ange's reaction to “Clowngate,” discusses Daniel Levy's relationship with the media compared with fan protests, and considers whether Vinai Venkatesham will make a difference at Tottenham. Other listener questions cover which Spurs manager he most enjoyed interviewing and whether he regrets leaving the beat just as Thomas Frank arrived. Welcome to episode 39 of the Designing with Love podcast! In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Tommy Kilpatrick, a retired teacher and author. Tommy Kilpatrick's spiritual journey takes us from the classrooms of California to the villages of the Philippines in this thought-provoking exploration of faith, purpose, and radical giving.Raised in an Episcopal family, Tommy's path included unexpected detours through socialist organizations he now recognizes were fundamentally opposed to his Christian values. His awakening came in a moment of surrender: "I woke up one morning and went 'okay, God, I believe.'" That simple acceptance set him on a transformative path that would eventually lead him across the world.Tommy shares fascinating stories from his diverse career—working with autistic children at a state hospital, becoming an insurance investigator at just 17, and co-founding a charter school that continues operating nearly three decades later. His educational innovation challenged conventional systems, emphasizing smaller class sizes, requiring parent participation despite significant bureaucratic resistance. Now settled in the Philippines, Tommy has dedicated himself to teaching sustainable building techniques with bamboo, vertical gardening methods, and establishing free medical clinics for underserved communities. His philosophy centers on interdependence rather than charity: "My free clinic is going to be free, but the Filipino has to give me an egg, has to sweep the street, has to do something." This exchange preserves dignity while fostering community. The conversation takes a profound turn when Tommy explains his approach to engaging atheists through thoughtful questions about creation and existence. Rather than confrontational evangelism, he creates space for spiritual inquiry: "Were you created? If you are a createe, then is there a creator?" These Socratic methods open doors that might otherwise remain closed.Subscribe now to hear Tommy's practical wisdom on practicing "random acts of kindness" in cross-cultural contexts, his unique perspective on breathing as a spiritual practice, and his inspiring vision for rehabilitating those struggling with addiction. Syngenta Flowers' Lauren Kilpatrick joins Tech On Demand host Bill Calkins to talk combos—specifically Kwik Kombos multi-liners and the new Patio Playbook program. Lauren explains just about everything you need to know to select the combination that will work in your greenhouse and deliver results for your retail customers, as well as tips and tricks for producing them at the highest quality. Lauren and Bill kick off the discussion with a quick chat about California Spring Trials 2025—specifically Syngenta's “Rooted In Teamwork” theme—and some of their favorites from the trial in Gilroy, CA. Kwik Kombos is not a new program from Syngenta but they add new mixes every year and have their rigorous trialing dialed in so you can be assured that the mixes will work in production and perform beautifully at retail. Lauren explains the benefits of this early-, mid- and late-season spring program. Patio Playbook is new (just released at 2025 California Spring Trials) and offers inspirational recipes for ALL seasons—using a wide range of inputs from foliage varieties including coleus to heat-loving annuals, perennials, tons of Syngenta's geraniums and even garden mums. Recipes allow growers to deliver color-blocked combos to retail throughout the year, extending seasons and helping bring shoppers in to fill their carts with high-value impulse combos. It's a win-win for everyone! Of course, Lauren shares plenty of tips and tricks for combo culture, as well as some of her favorite mixes in both programs. Be sure to stay tuned all the way to the end of the conversation so you don't miss any words of horticultural wisdom! Close to midnight on May 17, 1951, four north Alabama lawmen drove to a bootlegger's home to serve an arrest warrant. Before the clock struck twelve, the bootlegger lay dead in front of the house he shared with his wife and eight children, and three of the four officers were also dead. Afterward, a sixteen-year-old boy would face a series of trials that would divide a county and thrust the state of Alabama into the national spotlight. My guest is Professor Lesa Carnes Shaul, author of "Midnight Cry: A Shooting on Sand Mountain". She grew up on Sand Mountain hearing stories about this sensational shootout and joins me to talk about her research into this fascinating case. More about the author and her book here on her publisher's page: https://ugapress.org/book/9781588385338/midnight-cry/ This episode is sponsored by Strawberry .me. All the first universities were—St. Thomas Aquinas would tell us—Catholic ones. But in this modern day, it takes intentionality to maintain the rich tradition of Catholic education. In a talk recorded for HeightsCast, Dr. Peter Kilpatrick, president of The Catholic University of America, spoke to families at The Heights about what it means to be a Catholic university. He first consults the experts: Thomas Aquinas, John Henry Newman, John Paul the Great, and Pope Benedict XVI. He then offers examples from his own career in school leadership, and how to put the exhortations of popes and saints into action on campus.
