In November 2004, Peter Porco, was savagely bludgeoned to death with an axe inside his home, suffering massive head trauma that left the crime scene drenched in blood. His wife, Joan, was also brutally attacked, her skull shattered and her face nearly unrecognizable, yet she miraculously survived. As investigators delved into the case, suspicion quickly fell on the couple's 21-year-old son, Christopher Porco, whose financial troubles, inconsistent alibi, and alleged motive turned a horrifying crime into one of the most controversial trials in New York history. Our other podcast: "FEARFUL" - https://open.spotify.com/show/56ajNkLiPoIat1V2KI9n5c?si=OyM38rdsSSyyzKAFUJpSywMERCH:https://www.redbubble.com/people/wickedandgrim/shop?asc=uPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/wickedandgrim?fan_landing=trueYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@wickedlifeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wickedandgrim/ Instagram:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wickedandgrim/?hl=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/wickedandgrimWebsite: https://www.wickedandgrim.com/ Hosted on Acast. On November 15th 2004, police discovered the deceased, Peter Porco, lying in a pool of blood at the base of his stairs and his wife, Joan Porco, in their bedroom clinging to life after they were viciously attacked with an ax. When police asked Joan if she knew who did this to her, she shook her head yes, and when they asked her if her son Christopher Porco had done this, she nodded yes again. However when Joan woke up in the hospital weeks later she had no memory of the attack and swore that her son was innocent.

The human brain is an incredible organ. You see, our brains spend every single moment firing signals so we can simply exist. On November 15, 2004, investigators would get a firsthand look at just how powerful the human brain can be. Peter Porco, a 52-year-old state Appellate Division court clerk and married father of two, was a man of habit. Peter had a simple morning routine- as many of us do, and November 15th was no different. Peter got out of bed, changed out of his clothes, went into his bathroom to freshen up over his sink, walked down the stairs, made some coffee, emptied the dishwasher, packed a lunch, wrote a check, walked over to his front door and ...collapsed to the floor...in a pool of his own blood. In truth November 15th was different…. Very different. Join Lisa, Matt, Jules and our very special guest Melissa- as we unpack one of the most savage crimes we've ever covered and debate who we believe was to blame. We have arrived at the final part of the Christopher Porco story, where we discuss the details of the trial and his continuing denials. Now that Chris knew what the Detectives knew, he was able to make up a story that fit with their facts that he thought made him look innocent. We follow the course of the interrogation and the trial, and let you know how it all turned out.
Christopher thought he had covered all of his bases when he devised a plan to murder his parents, but he realized you can't hit home runs with an axe. It actually takes hard work, which had never been his strong suit. In this episode we cover his activities from the evening of the attack to his arrest, and his attempts to bamboozle the police.
Christopher Porco came from a good and honest family who loved him and did everything they could to make sure he had a good life. When the going got tough - and Chris made it very tough - they had his back. No matter what. That seemed to be working . . . until he took his lies, thefts, and deceptions too far. That's when he got caught. And, that's when he decided no one would ever catch him out again.
In November 2004, an intruder broke into a couple's Delmar home in the US, brutally axe- murdering a man as he slept, and critically injuring his wife. What appeared to be a burglary gone wrong soon turned into something even more sinister, as police identified a family member as prime suspect. This is what happens when a cold-blooded sociopath is raised as a member of the family. This is the case of Christopher Porco.

Jim Knapp spent time in the WGY Newsroom from 2003-2011. During that time, he anchored all shifts, but his strength was as a Street Reporter. Jim's biggest story he covered was the Christopher Porco murder trial, from the discovery of the crime scene to the final verdict in the trial. Jim also brought a lot of humor to the newsroom; he shares stories on how to ease the stress and tension of covering hard news stories.
This week we share the story of Christopher Porco, a spoiled manchild with two very loving and well-meaning parents, whose only mistake was loving their child too much. The story features a series of emails, a yellow jeep, a foggy memory, and an ax. It doesn't end well for anyone involved. For dinner this week, Cindy went with pork, the other white meat and so we had a delicious and tender pork loin in mushroom gravy with a side salad and mashed potatoes. For dessert, she ran with the setting of the story which happened to be New York, so we shared an Old Fashioned New York Style Crumb Cake. We paired the meal with a white wine blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay by Waltz Vineyard called Fusion. Sometimes criminals are sociopathic monsters, and Christopher Porco defintely is one. But he is also a complete frigging idiot which makes this the perfect end for Season Six. My goal is to lure you into a false sense of security so hopefully it works! Enjoy!
Today's case is one of those stories that sounds more like a movie than real life once you hear the details. One morning in November 2004, court clerk Peter Porco stumbled out of bed and went about his morning routine like usual. As he picked up a newspaper and ate his breakfast, he seemed to be completely unaware of the fact that he had been savagely attacked a few hours earlier… and his wife Joan was still in bed, clinging to life. Peter had almost gotten ready to the point of leaving for work. It was not until his co-workers began to worry as Peter did not show up to work that the gruesome scene inside the Porco home was revealed. Peter - now dead… while his wife Joan was found upstairs, barely alive. Both had been hit in the head multiple times with an ax. Before Joan was rushed into the hospital, a detective was able to question her and get the name of the suspect: Christopher Porco, the couple's 21-year-old son. Soon enough, the investigation began to reveal disturbing details of Christopher's life and the insidious web of lies he had weaved to take advantage of his own parents. However, when the only witness to the crime, Joan Porco, woke up from a coma, she changed her story. According to her, Christopher was innocent. But in the end, was the mother's love enough to save the son from conviction? Subscribe and share 10 Minute Murder with your true crime loving friends. We hear almost daily about mothers and fathers killing their children, sometimes their entire family. You would absolutely be familiar with Scott Peterson, Susan Smith and Chris Watts. What you hear less often is when children plot and scheme and murder their families. The term for this is either familicide if many family members are killed, or parricide if only parents are killed. Today on the the True Crime Society Podcast we discuss three cases of ‘Kids Who Kill'. -In 2015 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Robert and Michael Bever who were 18 and 16 at the time, went on a murderous rampage using knives and hatchets. They managed to murder their parents and three of their siblings before they were stopped by police. The brothers had planned to go on a cross-country killing spree, hoping to kill over 100 people. Thankfully, two Bever children survived and a lot of the testimony that was given helped to put Robert and Michael behind bars for good. - Christopher Porco was in trouble in 2004. He had forged his father's signature on financial documents and had obtained fraudulent loans. His parents were not happy and frequently told him so. In November that year, Christopher drove from his dorm to the family home, where he attacked his parents with an axe. His father Peter Porco sustained 16 major axe wounds to his face and head including penetration to his brain and part of his jaw ‘ fell' off following the attack. Despite all this, Peter managed to get out of bed and go about his daily morning routine before dying. He spent some time in the bathroom and at the sink, he loaded the dishwasher, packed his lunch for the day and wrote a check. He finally collapsed and died at the front door. Joan initially told police that Christopher was the attacker but then recanted. - The Van Breda family lived an affluent, high-flying life in South Africa. Martin and Teresa were very successful and were raising three children Rudi, Henri and Marli. One night, an intruder allegedly broke into their mansion in a secure, gated community, murdering three members of the family with an axe. Henri survived with minor injuries and Marli spent months in hospital recovering. Except it turns out, there was no intruder. Henri had an alleged methamphetamine addiction and his allowance had been cut off by his parents, so he killed them. Peter and Joan Porco were brutally attacked by an intruder with an axe. Could it have been one of their own children?
Christopher Porco killed his father and attempted to kill his mother with an axe in Delmar, New York, in 2004.
In this week's episode, I'm telling Russ about the tragic murder and attempted murder of Peter and Joan Porco. This crime was committed by the couples own son! How do you know when you have kids that you're going to raise a good one? ...It truly is a gamble. Is it nature or nurture? this story will show sometimes no matter how great of a parent you are, a person's evil nature still comes out. Chris Porco maintains his innocence to this day but I'm not buying it and neither did the jury at his trial. Moral of this story... "A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in this world" -Agatha Christie
This is the true story of a son who axe murdered his parents. He was only 21!! Christopher Porco not only attacked his parents with an axe but his mother survived with no recollection and defended her son, even testified on his behalf!! Ota yhteyttä: jaljillapodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @jaljillapodcastMusiikki: Doug Maxwell - Heartbeat of the HoodLÄHTEET:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTHdWcFwDz8&t=2487s&ab_channel=StanleyOsbornhttps://web.archive.org/web/20071118232454/http://timesunion.com/specialreports/porco/graphics/Porcotimeline.pdfhttps://forensicfilesnow.com/index.php/tag/peter-porco/https://cbs6albany.com/news/local/christopher-porco-delmar-murder-15-years-laterhttps://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2006/07/18/timeline-around-murder-includes-text-messaging/https://thisismonsters.com/christopher-porco/https://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2006/12/12/christopher-porco-gets-maximum-sentence-convicted/https://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2006/08/11/jury-delivers-quick-verdict-porco-mom-absent/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Kristin starts us off with our most old timey story ever. It was May of 1812 in Manchester, Vermont, and something was up. Russell Colvin was missing. People were pretty sure he’d come back. He had a wife. He had a child. He had obligations. Plus, he was known to wander off from time to time. But then months passed. Then years. People in town became suspicious. What if Russell hadn’t wandered off? What if he’d been murdered? Then Brandi tells us about a November morning in 2004. Peter Porco, an Appellate Division court clerk, had always been reliable. So when he didn’t show up for work one day, a coworker went to Peter’s house to check on him. The coworker peered through the windows to discover a grizzly scene. And now for a note about our process. For each episode, Kristin reads a bunch of articles, then spits them back out in her very limited vocabulary.
