I'm tired y'all. It's just too much. I feel like we are cutting and pasting the same headlines from previous years. We've seen this before. And before that. And before that. Again. And again. And again. At 2am on this past Tuesday morning, the Columbus Police broke into the apartment of a 20 year old brother named Donovan Lewis, he was deep asleep in his bedroom - completely unarmed, and of course non-violent. It's clear that he had no idea police were even there. And within a single second of breaking into his bedroom, they shot and killed him, claiming that he had a gun. He didn't. I am working with the attorneys in this case and will be supporting the family every way I can.

Nicholas Reardon, accompanied by his attorney, sat for a voluntary interview with investigators nearly three weeks after fatally shooting Ma'Khia Bryant. When questioned, Reardon said there had been no time for other forms or attempts at de-escalation.

Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther announced Wednesday the milestone hiring of Jacqueline Hendricks-Moore as the city's first inspector general, who will oversee investigations into allegations of misconduct by city police. Hendricks-Moore is currently a senior investigator for Detroit's Office of Inspector General, a position she has held since 2013 after retiring as a Detroit police sergeant. On August 31, 1986, Doug Suns was shot in the head during an apparent robbery at the Kocolene gas station on Jonathon Moore Pike. He was working alone on the late night shift. The 22 year old died the next day at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Local police say this is the only unsolved homicide in Columbus, Indiana. Every victim deserves to have their story told, but not every story gets made into a book. Maybe if this one had been, the victim's family would have the answers they've searched for for so long.
