Tonight on the Carolina Weather Group, we talk with Kelly Wells from the North Carolina Department of Transportation about the relaunched drivenc.gov website. Wells provides a walkthrough of the new site, which features over 1,000 live streaming traffic cameras across the state. The site includes map layers for traffic congestion, road closures, incidents, road work, and weather events. Users can view real-time conditions for ferries and rest areas, and see the warnings currently displayed on highway message signs. The site also integrates weather radar, National Weather Service alerts, and weather forecasts directly onto the map. Through the "My Drive NC" feature, travelers can select favorite cameras, save routes, and draw custom regions on the map to receive targeted email or text alerts for road conditions. The platform also feeds this traffic data to navigation apps like Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and TomTom. NCDOT monitors the roads using five traffic management centers across the state, which now receive proactive push alerts for traffic incidents. A Drive NC mobile app is also now available for download. Also in this episode, Sam Walker details traffic management on the Outer Banks, including the Barco diversion at the intersection of US 158 and NC 168, which is used during hurricane evacuations to divert traffic away from bridge-tunnels in Virginia. Frank Strait provides the Carolina weather forecast, tracking ongoing flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorms. He outlines an incoming heatwave that will bring high temperatures near 100 degrees and heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees, before a cold front brings cooling showers by Sunday and Monday. The panel also discusses the CoCoRaHS rain gauge network, a destructive 4th of July thunderstorm in New York, and Colorado State University's updated forecast lowering the season's prediction to nine named storms.

In Dumb Ass News, Chaz and AJ wanted to talk about a failed prom-posal, when teammates misspelled the word "prom." It took a little longer to get to the story, when Chaz mispronounced the word "hilariously." (0:00) In honor of National Nurse's Day, Chaz brought on his wife, Jennifer to thank her. In response, she brought up his flub from earlier in the show. (7:10) Cassie Crofts is a Private Investigator, and was on the phone with Chaz and AJ to share the different signs of cheaters for men and women. Plus, an insane story from a Tribe member, who got revenge on a cheating spouse. (13:25) The traffic camera rant continues, as Chaz and AJ opened the phone lines to the Tribe about the issue. (26:31)Why would you want to pull a car with your penis? If that was insane enough, this guy also decided to light himself on fire while doing it. (46:49)
EP 680: Jeff Peel | Tactacam What does it actually take to build something from nothing in the hunting industry? Not the polished version — the real one. The trailer-hooked-to-the-back-of-a-Buick-Enclave, sell-your-house, answer-customer-service-calls-at-4AM version. That’s exactly what Jeff of Tactacam pulls back the curtain on in this episode, and man, it’s one of the more refreshing conversations I’ve had on this podcast. Jeff and his wife Tara started Tactacam with almost nothing — a plastic folding table, a dream, and an obsession with taking care of customers in an industry that had largely forgotten how. What started as a point-of-view hunting camera has grown into a 500-employee powerhouse that now dominates the cellular trail camera market. But the part nobody tells you? It took 10 years of brute force to make it look like an overnight success. We dig into the pivot from software to hardware (and why everyone told him not to), the customer-first philosophy that drives a $2 million monthly CS budget, and the launch of Habitat IQ — a genuinely exciting AI-powered platform that takes the collective knowledge of the country’s best whitetail property managers and turns it into actionable data for your specific ground. Think SimCity meets your food plot plan meets 20 years of Jeff Sturgis notebooks. And yeah, we talk about dream hunts. Jeff’s answer? Polar bear with a bow on frozen ocean where you’re the bait. His wife thinks he’s crazy. I get it. Whether you’re a hunter who loves to nerd out on habitat, an entrepreneur trying to figure out how to break into the outdoor industry, or someone who just wants to hear what it actually looks like to bet everything on something you believe in — this one’s for you. Land ownership, access, terrain, and a full suite of tools not just for the hunt itself but for the planning, the scouting, and everything that goes into being a backcountry hunter. The difference is simple: it’s confidence. Confidence you’re in the right spot. Confidence you’re legal. Confidence you can get back to the truck. Download the OnX Hunt app and become an elite member today. Use code TRO to save 20% on your membership. Website: onxmaps.com Bridger Watch This one’s personal — Bridger Watch is Cody’s company, and it’s a full-featured smartwatch built by hunters, for hunters. Not a general-use watch with a camo skin slapped on it. A purpose-built tool designed for the hunting lifestyle from the ground up. It trains with you in the off-season, maps your hunts, handles your texts, and delivers the one thing every backcountry hunter knows matters most: insane battery life. No compromise. No fluff. Just the watch the hunting world has been waiting for. Use code TRO at checkout for a discount. Website: bridgerwatch.com 3 Key Takeaways 1. Overnight successes take about 10 years. Jeff was told at a trade show early in his career: “It was an overnight success — in only 10 years.” He sold his house, hooked a trailer to his wife’s Buick, and drove the country hitting every dealer and trade show they could find. If you’re building something and it feels like it should be further along by now, this episode is a reminder that the grind you’re in right now IS the success story being written. 2. Customer service isn’t a cost center — it’s your moat. Tactacam spends $2 million a month on customer service and has a 98% retention rate that rivals Netflix and Spotify. In a world where most companies have made it nearly impossible to talk to a real human, simply picking up the phone and knowing your product is a genuinely unfair competitive advantage. If you own a business — any business — this is worth writing down. 3. Habitat IQ could legitimately change how average hunters manage their ground. The idea behind Habitat IQ — scoring your property, simulating changes like new food plots or bedding improvements, and connecting it all to your real camera data — is genuinely one of the most useful applications of AI for hunters I’ve heard of. This isn’t tech for tech’s sake. It’s taking the collective knowledge of the best whitetail minds in the country and making it accessible for the guy with 80 acres and a weekend to hunt. Keep an eye on this one.

In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan warns listeners to brace for market volatility as a wave of economic data and algorithm-driven trading threatens Wall Street, even as the underlying Trump economy remains relatively strong. He then exposes massive fraud inside Washington's $30 billion welfare system, explains a major court ruling that could finally end "catch and release" by allowing the detention of illegal migrants without bond, and breaks down why Democrats are quietly backing away from ICE body cameras amid fears the footage would expose activist violence. The episode turns global with explosive allegations of Deep State manipulation inside U.S. intelligence involving Tulsi Gabbard, violent left-wing attacks tied to the Olympic Games in Italy, and growing signs of national decline in the West as pride in the country collapses among younger generations. Bryan closes with unsettling political developments in the United Kingdom, a pivotal election in Japan that could ripple into U.S. markets, and promising medical research pointing to new treatments for brain health, mental illness, and epilepsy. Dems Eat Their Own in Texas. Clintons to Testify on Epstein. Elon's GROK Loves Porn. Jill Biden's Ex Charged w Murder. Savannah Guthrie's Mom. Liberals Buying Guns. ICE at Super Bowl? It's only Tuesday–and this week is already on fire. From ICE stalking kids and now Haitian caregivers, to Trump openly musing about “taking over” the fall mid-term elections and flirting with the Insurrection Act, Paul kicks off this all‑new daily episode with a blistering run through the wildest news of the day: Jill Biden's ex‑husband charged with murder, Savannah Guthrie's missing mother, a delayed moon mission, and another massive Russian barrage on freezing Ukraine. Then, Democratic strategist, nonprofit advisor and attorney Kaivan Shroff joins Paul from New York to get extremely reasonable about a Democratic Party that seems determined to eat its own. They dig into why the Democrats can't get out of their own way, overly focus on identity politics, and continue to hemorrhage voters nationwide. And they focus on the headline-snatching Texas Senate Democrat primary food fight between James Talarico and Jasmine Crockett, Colin Allred's “mediocre Black man” moment, and how very online identity wars and racial politics are distracting the Dems from from attracting independents, beating Republican Ken Paxton, winning back Texas, and actually stopping Trump. What the hell is wrong with the Democrats? So much. Paul and Kaivan also break down why so many liberals are suddenly buying guns, what that means for suicide risk and public safety, and how Trump's ICE crackdown and gun restrictions have even hardcore Second Amendment advocates furious at the government he now runs. They explore whether this crisis could finally force a new, common‑sense unity and breakthrough national conversation about guns, civil liberties, and what real “law and order” looks like in Trump's America. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Monday that all federal officers in Minneapolis will now wear body cameras. She also said the program would expand nationwide "as funding is available." The push for body cameras is a key Democratic demand to end the partial government shutdown. It also comes on the heels of major concerns over DHS immigration tactics. In January alone, two U.S. citizens were shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Radley Balko has been covering law enforcement misconduct for decades. We spoke to him about how federal immigration enforcement's actions feel different – and what worries him most. And in headlines, Bill and Hillary Clinton agree to testify before Congress about their ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, RFK Jr. announces an initiative to address homelessness and substance abuse in eight unspecified cities, and the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt reopens – potentially offering hope for thousands of Palestinians.Show Notes: Check out Radley's piece – https://tinyurl.com/2s3fcbz8 Call Congress – 202-224-3121 Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8 What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcast Follow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/
