In a jaw-dropping legal reversal that has rocked the true-crime world, the South Carolina Supreme Court has overturned Alex Murdaugh's double-murder convictions and ordered a brand-new trial. On May 13, 2026, in a unanimous 5-0 decision, the justices ruled that Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill placed her “fingers on the scales of justice” by improperly influencing the jury—telling jurors not to be fooled by Murdaugh, warning them to watch his every move, and tainting the entire 2023 trial. What exactly did Becky Hill say behind closed doors? Was her interference tied to a book deal? And after three years of appeals, financial-crime convictions, and endless headlines, what happens next—could Murdaugh walk free, or is the death penalty now back on the table? In this explosive episode, Jim Chapman breaks down the full Supreme Court opinion, the shocking allegations of jury tampering, the prosecutors' next moves, and what this means for one of the most notorious cases in modern American history. Houston police say they have finally solved a 36-year-old murder mystery, after a tip and DNA evidence led them to the man they say is the killer responsible for the “Lover’s Lane Murders.” 64-year-old Floyd Willis Parrott is charged with murder for viciously killing 22-year-old Cheryl Henry and 21-year-old Andy Atkinson back in 1990. The two young lovers were parked in a secluded area when police say Parrott tied them up and slit their throats. We have their families’ reaction at finally seeing an arrest in this case. Terrifying & True | Castlerock Double Murder (1991): Staged as a Suicide Pact

Weekly Spooky

A locked garage behind a quiet holiday cottage. A car filling with exhaust. And two bodies posed to tell a simple story: a suicide pact between two “betrayed” spouses. On May 19, 1991, in Castlerock, Northern Ireland, Lesley Howell (31) and Trevor Buchanan (32) are found dead inside a vehicle with a hose running from the exhaust into the car—an apparent double suicide that the community quickly accepts. Lesley is a mother of four. Trevor is a police constable and father. Both are mourned as victims of heartbreak and scandal. But the truth is darker—and it doesn't surface for nearly two decades.Behind the public grief, investigators will later learn, a secret affair and a ruthless plan were allegedly shaping events from the shadows. Colin Howell, a respected dentist and lay preacher, and Hazel Buchanan (later Hazel Stewart) are accused of plotting to remove their spouses and stage the scene to look like a tragic decision. The story moves from a “straightforward” death scene to something far more chilling: sedation, exhaust fumes, meticulous staging, and a lie that holds until January 2009, when Colin Howell finally breaks and confesses—first to church elders, then to police. The confession reopens everything. Hazel is arrested. In court, the case becomes a battle over what was done, what was admitted, and whether Hazel's role was coerced or fully complicit. The old garage scene is re-examined with a new question: not why would they do this? but who benefits if everyone believes they did?Inside this episodeThe discovery in Castlerock and why police initially believed it was a double suicideThe secret relationship hiding in plain sight inside a tight religious communityThe alleged method: sedatives + exhaust fumes and the “suicide pact” stagingHow the case stayed buried—until a confession detonated it in 2009The interrogation dispute: coercion vs. participationThe courtroom reckoning and the verdict that finally rewrote the official storyThis is a true crime nightmare about image, faith, control, and deception—and how a staged scene can trap the truth for years. We're telling that story tonight.

Clay drops a hard warning after a nightmare story out of Memphis/North Mississippi: a dad and his 11- or 12-year-old daughter were lured to a back road and shot to death over a PlayStation they were trying to buy on Facebook Marketplace. The family's now calling on the Latin Kings for street justice — we might be watching a gang war kick off over a few hundred bucks.   Clay's message is crystal clear: Never, ever meet strangers off Facebook Marketplace. Not at their house, not on a back road, not even in Jackson. Do it at a police station, fire department, or somewhere public with cameras and law enforcement everywhere. He's seen too many push notifications about people getting robbed or killed the exact same way.   His personal rule? Sell your car, truck, side-by-side — anything valuable — straight to a dealership like Ellis AutoPlex. They cut you a check on the spot and you walk away alive. Your life (and your kid's life) is worth way more than saving a thousand dollars or haggling with some Craigslist maniac.   Clay even admits he left the car business partly because he couldn't stop cussing out the rude, lowballing Marketplace idiots. Now he's got a full axe to grind and jokes about one day building the perfect fake profile just to troll them with OBS Tahoes and cat-eye Chevys until they lose their minds.   Common sense PSA: If the deal seems too good to be true or the buyer is way too eager with no negotiation… run. Raw truth from the Clay Edwards Show — don't be stupid, don't be next.
