If you don't know what Girl-tok is, it's basically the more girly side of tiktok where you can find things like GRWM's, skincare routines, day in the life, outfit inspo or maybe you come across the occasional motivational or hopecore video. On this side of tiktok it's very easy to look at everyone's life and compare it to your own. Watching these girls doing all the thinga that you wanna do so it make you want to slowly become more like them and even look up to them as motivation for your day to day life. And this is the type of content Kathy vu made, a 22 y/o influencer with a pilates princess aesthetic with her whole world covered in hello kitty and baby pink Lululemon sets. Kathy was known for her motivation content like telling girls how to know their worth, how to gain gym confidence, and showing her day in the life working multiple jobs and living on her own. So it would come to a shock when in February of 2023 Kathy's mugshot would be posted to tik-tok as a result of her involvement in a double homocide. And that's when all her loyal followers who looked up to her, finally started to see who Kathy actually was, when she wasn't posting what she wanted people to see. Learn more about your ad choices. A long standing theory, but one ballistics supports, at least in the mind of some of those who worked the case, is that Ivan Milat didn't act alone and that there were multiple shooters at several of his crime scenes. Host Kathryn Fox sits down with one of Australia's most respected forensic experts, Gerard Dutton to understand why some think there was more than one shooter, and how specific ballistic evidence supports this. Send us a textA story based during World War 2, a double murder committed by a younger male who did nothing to help the war effort who seemed totally selfish and was a danger to women. I can only find one other podcast that has covered this podcast, which was Murder Mile, which is a recommended listen. This podcast was recorded in one take and has not been edited, I hesitate and mispronounce as usual. On listening to playback, there is a pug dog snoring in the background, so sorry about that. I would spend more time on the podcasts but there are so many stories and so little time. I record these podcasts instead of watching a screen. There is so much good stuff to watch and listen to, I am amazed that anyone listens to this pod. I will continue to post even if no one listens. This is part of the reason that I do not bother to edit. I could produce a well produced and edited podcast, or post two podcasts, telling two stories. I also prefer live broadcasts when things can go wrong. The most surprising thing to happen during my recording a podcast was an owl flying through an open window and freaking out a cat that was sitting in a chair, all of which was kept in the pod.I did have a website but when I had to renew the name, they quoted a price which was ridiculous, a hundred times more than the introductory price. So the name Strange Stories UK is available.I will eventually post on YouTube to see how that turns out. I will post some photographs of the house and where the body was found on the Strange Stories UK Facebook site and the Instagram site.

A 16-year-old girl is in juvenile detention and faces the possibility of being charged as an adult after allegedly admitting to the brutal murders of her mother and her mother's much younger boyfriend earlier this month. Julia Grace Egler has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Palm Bay Police Department. The incident unfolded on July 6 at the family's home on Benchor Road, where Egler reportedly greeted the couple, Kelley McCollom, 42, and Matthew Szejnrok, 22, with a chilling "Welcome home" as the attack began. Multiple gunshots were fired, leaving both victims with severe injuries. After allegedly shooting her mother with a .38 Special revolver, Egler turned the gun on Szejnrok, who fled to the bathroom pleading for his life. Egler then reportedly stabbed him multiple times with a chef's knife before using the handgun to deliver a fatal shot. At around 12:06 a.m. on Sunday, a phony 911 call was made, police allege. During the call, Egler was allegedly crying hysterically and saying a man had broken into the family's residence. Officers who arrived moments later met the teenager outside the house. There, she allegedly stuck to her story about the burglar at first — telling police she hid inside her room with her pit bull when she heard “loud noises” happening elsewhere in the house. Upon arrival, police found her outside the residence, initially sticking to her fabricated story. However, discrepancies in her account led detectives to press her further, resulting in a confession. Key evidence against Egler included the handgun hidden outside her bedroom, bloody footprints matching her shoes, and a bloody knife left on the kitchen counter. During her police interview, she confessed to planning the ambush, driven by long-standing conflicts with her mother regarding her gender transition and disapproval of the relationship with Szejnrok. Authorities noted that Egler's motives stemmed from unresolved issues that had "reached a boiling point" prior to the murders. Palm Bay Police Lt. Virginia Kilmer emphasized that these ongoing conflicts played a significant role in the tragic events. A delinquency hearing is set for later this month to determine whether Egler will be charged as an adult. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? A Northern Virginia man has been indicted on charges related to the deaths of his wife and another man, in what law enforcement describes as a complex murder conspiracy involving the family's au pair and a fake profile on a fetish website. Brendan Banfield, 39, faces four counts of aggravated murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the February 2023 killings of his wife, Christine Ann Banfield, 37, and Joseph Nathan Ryan, 39. The indictments were announced this week by the Fairfax County Police Department in conjunction with the Fairfax Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. On the morning of February 24, 2023, both victims were found dead in the Banfield residence on Stable Brook Way in Herndon, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Initial reports left many questions unanswered, but authorities now claim to have unraveled the intricate plot behind the killings. "Now, 570 days later, we know the deaths of Joseph Ryan and Christine Banfield are both, in fact, murders," Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said, as reported by WUSA. The investigation took a significant turn in October 2023 with the arrest of Juliana Peres Magalhaes, [Meh-GALL-ez] 24, the family's live-in nanny responsible for the Banfields' preschool-age daughter. Magalhaes was the first to call 911 on the day of the incident, initially reporting that her "friend was hurt." Shortly thereafter, Banfield called 911, claiming he had shot an intruder who had stabbed his wife. However, inconsistencies in their stories raised suspicions. According to court documents, Magalhaes and Banfield alleged that they discovered Ryan in an upstairs bedroom with a critically injured Christine. Banfield admitted to shooting Ryan and directed Magalhaes to retrieve a second firearm, which she used to shoot Ryan again. Both initially denied any romantic involvement, but it was later confirmed that they were in a relationship. Prosecutors allege that Banfield and Magalhaes conspired to eliminate Christine to continue their relationship uninterrupted. Investigators uncovered messages on a fetish website between Ryan and someone posing as Christine, arranging a meeting at the Banfield home on the day of the murders. Authorities believe Ryan was lured there under false pretenses. "I suspected from the very beginning... that there was going to be a lot of twists and turns to this investigation," Chief Davis said. "It's my expectation that we will eventually be able to hold more than just one person accountable for this crime." Further evidence presented includes newly framed photos of Banfield and Magalhaes together, displayed in Banfield's bedroom after the murders, suggesting a deepening relationship between the two. Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano explained the multiple aggravated murder charges filed against Banfield. "When we took a look at what we intend to present at trial, we believe our presentation of evidence can possibly hit both of those different subsection elements," he said. "We wanted to cover all our bases and make sure the jury had every option that they could want when looking at the evidence." The charges against Banfield now place the complex case firmly in the hands of the judicial system. Both he and Magalhaes are expected to face trial, where a jury will consider the intricate details of the alleged conspiracy. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
A Washington man has admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend and her 7-year-old daughter just days after being released on bond for domestic violence charges. Kirkland Warren, 28, pleaded guilty to the murders of Meshay Melendez, 27, and her daughter, Layla Stewart after their bodies were found dumped down an embankment in rural Washougal, according to court records. Warren, who was free on bond at the time, had previously been ordered to have no contact with Melendez. He had also entered an Alford plea to first-degree child molestation related to a sexual assault on Layla Stewart. An Alford plea allows the defendant to maintain innocence while accepting punishment. The investigation began on March 18, 2023, after Vancouver police responded to a welfare check at the Springfield Meadows apartments. Family members had not heard from Melendez or Layla for several days, and their dog was found alone in the apartment, barking. Investigators discovered that on March 11, Melendez, Layla, and Warren had stayed at an acquaintance's home. Layla stayed behind while Melendez and Warren went out. When Warren returned around 8 a.m., the acquaintance noticed Melendez unconscious in the passenger seat of his vehicle. Warren then went inside, retrieved Layla, and drove off with her. On March 19, Melendez's mother found her daughter's 2000 Chrysler 200, leading to Warren's arrest. He was charged with tampering with a witness, violating domestic violence orders, assault, drive-by shooting, and unlawful possession of a firearm. A search of the Dodge Charger, the vehicle Melendez and Layla were last seen leaving in with Warren, uncovered blood evidence in both the front and back seats, .22 caliber shell casings, children's clothing matching what Layla was believed to be wearing on March 12, and a purse containing Melendez's ID, according to police. On March 22, a passerby reported seeing what seemed to be two “life-sized mannequins” off a roadway down an embankment in thick brush in Washougal. Deputies responded and found the victims, who had been shot in the head. Court documents revealed that Layla was found naked from the waist down, and DNA swabs matched Warren's DNA. In court documents, prosecutors detailed Warren's attempts to cover his tracks. He reportedly texted a friend about getting rid of a gun and searched online for ways to clean blood from a car and “how to beat murder.” Investigators also revealed that Warren had transferred $4,200 from Melendez's account to his phone and discussed disposing of her car. At the time of the murders, Warren was out on bond for a 2017 first-degree murder charge in Arkansas, where a man was also shot in the head and left in a ditch. He had also been arrested in December 2022 for assaulting Melendez and firing into her apartment but was released four days before her and Layla's disappearance. Warren now faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced on October 8. His sentence in Washington will run concurrently with his Arkansas murder charge. In a statement, YWCA Clark County CEO Brittini Lasseigne honored Melendez and Layla, expressing frustration over the system's failure to prevent the tragedy. "Deadly violence is not happening to others, it is happening to us," Lasseigne wrote. "We must use our collective voices to make lasting change." Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
