The “scarlet thread” that runs throughout the scripture is the salvation of man found only in Jesus Christ. It is scarlet because the salvation is ultimately found in the blood of Jesus, and it is a thread because it is foreshadowed and preached about in the Old Testament before being realized in the New. This podcast features readings from the two-year daily lectionary, specifically the lectionary proscribed by the Lutheran Book of Worship (1978) and used in For All the Saints, published by the American Lutheran Publicity Bureau (www.alpb.org). The two-year daily lectionary moves you through the high points of the Bible with a daily reading from the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Gospels. I will also include a reading from the Psalter or Proverbs. There will be no special effects or background music; just the plain reading of God's Word. And no fundraising, either! However, feel free to rate the show if you enjoy it as that helps its visibility. After the two-year cycle, you will have gone through the high points of the Old Testament one time and most of the New Testament about 2 times. While this is not a complete reading of the Bible, it is a great way to grow in familiarity with the main narrative of the Bible. As it follows the liturgical year, festival and saint's days will also be observed. This podcast uses the Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the Bible. We don't often think about common ground as a forum for disagreement. But the most productive discourse often requires first identifying a shared set of goals, facts, or ideas. How can today's leaders help build an environment of mutual understanding, respect, and productive disagreement in an increasingly divisive world? What role do technology and the internet play in helping people find and create common ground?  In this episode, Host Gautam Mukunda speaks with two digital strategists about the role of commonality in productive dialogue and debate and the impacts that technology has had on building common ground. Katie Harbath was Facebook's Public Policy Director before founding Anchor Change, a consulting firm dedicated to upholding democracy and stopping the spread of misinformation around elections. Michael Slaby, author of For ALL the People and Chief Strategist at Harmony Labs, was the Deputy Digital Director and Chief Technology Officer during Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. “I feel we do have that commonality of wanting to make sure that the internet is a space that can help to raise voices that wouldn't otherwise get to be heard, that can increase access to the democratic process, and can get more people involved.” — Katie Harbath “The nature of how a company believes what its responsibility and relationship is to community, what their responsibilities are for leadership -- that's not just a soft positioning, values-based conversation -- that needs to be a more fulsome understanding and a more multi-dimensional, quantifiable understanding of what a successful company means.” – Michael Slaby Follow @GMukunda on Twitter or email us at WorldReimagined@nasdaq.com   Books Referenced: For ALL the People: Redeeming the Broken Promises of Modern Media and Reclaiming Our Civic Life by Michael Slaby   For more information on this episode's guests, please visit: https://www.nasdaq.com/world-reimagined-podcast

Recalculating what happiness means to them, breaking away from the societal norms of how life “should be” and intentionally living life, each day, and on purpose. But this massive change isn't something reserved just for her family. It is available to anyone with a willingness and readiness to change. As a certified Life Coach with The Life Coach School and graduate of RaMa Institute for Applied Yogic Science and Technology, she works with a library of tools to create change on both the conscious level with coaching and the subconscious level with meditation. These techniques focus on a mastering of the mind to create lasting effects. She doesn't teach you how to recreate her best life. She teaches you how to discover your own. This is a summer rerun episode! Mark returns next week, and until then, we're taking a look back at some of the year's best episodes. What would it look like to engage in nonviolent direct action consistently, through strategic organizing? That's what Kai Newkirk (Founder of For All www.forallorg.us) and Rev. Stephen Green (Pastor, Scholar, and Activist) explain in today's episode, as they discuss the piece they co-authored, “Why Kingian democratic socialism is the best path forward for the progressive left.” This is especially relevant in the context of our current society where unarmed Black people continue to be murdered by police. They also dig into why we need statehood in D.C. in order to make winning Georgia actually count and see progress on reparations.
