For many Christians, witnessing (sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others) can be very challenging - in fact, for some it is something to be feared! I know! I've been there and, like many, still feel some of those challenges today. Well, it doesn't have to be something to be feared, but it should be more of a glad willingness to share the love of Christ with others because of what He did for us. The episode of 2Days Denarius comes from a daily devotion from a book titled, "Fresh Start Devotionals" by Jim L. Wison. Dr. Wilson is a prolific author, professor at Gateway Seminary, and provides much personal and material support to pastors and chaplains in their fields of ministry. This devotional, with commentary and added mentoring comments, not only shares a story of how to reach our neighbors for Christ through building relationships, but also provides a model of how through Scripture we can lead them to salvation in Christ by our witnessing to them. "Fresh Start Devotionals" is written by Dr. Jim L. Wilson and published by Willow City Press of the California Southern Baptist Convention, Fresno, CA. Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued Resurrection week by discussing identity in Christ. As followers of Christ, we need to have our identity in Him, or else we’ll try to find our identity in other things. We turned to Romans 6:8-10, where the apostle Paul tells us that when Christ died, we died with Him so that we can live with Him now. We have been given new life because of His sacrifice. Therefore, we should live for Him. We also had J. Warner Wallace talk about how he went from an atheist to a believer after investigating the supernatural existence of Jesus. Dr. John Taylor, a former atheist, once ardently dismissed the very concept of God, fearing it would cost him his autonomy. Growing up, John was exposed to the traditions of the Methodist church but found himself increasingly at odds with its teachings. As a teenager, he embraced atheism, fueled by skepticism towards religion and a belief that Christianity lacked intellectual rigor. He relished debates with Christians, eager to challenge and dismantle their faith. However, his life took an unexpected turn. Guest Bio: John Taylor is a dedicated professor of New Testament at Gateway Seminary in California, positioned just east of Los Angeles. With an eight-year tenure, he leads the Department of Biblical Studies, focusing his efforts on preparing future ministers, missionaries, and Christian academics. Passionate about imparting his knowledge, John primarily teaches courses on theology unique to Pauline letters, aiming to inspire and equip his students to effectively carry out their ministries. Through his work, he actively seeks to multiply the wisdom and insights he has accumulated over the years, contributing to the growth and enrichment of the Christian community.
