Good Will Come (2023) ; No Worries (2023) ; Don't Make me (2023) ; Path of the Wanderer feat. Leyla Kazim and producer Robbie Armstrong explore the central role of food in building community, shaping identity and providing culturally appropriate spaces for refugees and asylum seekers in Glasgow, resettled in the city as part of the UK Government's asylum dispersal policy. Leyla speaks to Selina Hales, founder of charity Refuweegee, which distributes welcome packs and emergency food parcels, runs community meals and organises events for people starting a new life in Glasgow. Teresa Piacentini of the Glasgow Refugee, Asylum & Migration Network outlines how the dispersal system works, the changing landscape in Glasgow, and how food is used to establish community, identity and belonging for those seeking refuge or making a new home in Scotland. Ibrahim Kamara and Arij Alnajjar take Leyla out for lunch, where they discuss their experience in the asylum system, and how crucial food has been in helping them reclaim their identity and share their culture and cuisine with friends in a foreign country. Producer Robbie Armstrong visits the Garnethill Multicultural Centre to meet development worker Vivien Opiolka. He attends their community meal, and hears from service users about the importance of shared meals for those in the asylum system. Robbie shows Leyla around his neighbourhood of Govanhill, Scotland's most multicultural area, and talks about its diverse array of cuisines, restaurants and affordable supermarkets. We hear from councillor Roza Salih, herself a Kurdish refugee and member of the legendary activist group the Glasgow Girls. She visits Kurdish kebab takeaway Shawarma King to toast owner Majed Badrekhan on his takeaway being crowned ‘best kebab in Scotland' two years in a row. Closer to home, Leyla visits the Cyprus House restaurant in the Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association in Green Lanes, North London, where she reflects on her Cypriot heritage, her dad's escape from war-torn Cyprus, and why food is a central part of her identity. Presented by Leyla Kazim. Produced by Robbie Armstrong.

John, Jeff and Vinny are on as we round up what has been going on in Scottish football with some of the playoffs being decided in the last week. So far, it's pleasing to see that the playoffs have seen teams progress and be promoted so congratulations to Bonnyrigg, Edinburgh City and Queen's Park. Can Inverness complete the set and defeat St Johnstone? Further down in tier 6 things have still to be decided with Darvel, Tranent and St Cuthberts set to take part in a round robin tournament to see who gains a place in the Lowland League. Once again we discuss the Lowland League and the way they have stifled progression with lack of promotion spots available. In a bizarre tangent, we end up talking half time entertainment in Scottish football and the bizarre and wonderful things we've seen take place. It provides some light relief to the show. More congratulations are in order, this time in the Women's game as Glasgow Girls and Women were promoted from SWPL2. We discuss progress for the Women's game in Scotland with more needed to be done to increase crowds and improve facilities. The podcast concludes with a brief conversation on Rangers ahead of their Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt. Lily Crawford and Jeanie Taylor, from very different backgrounds, are firm friends from their childhoods in Kirkcudbright. They share their ambitions for their futures, Lily to be an artist, Jeanie to be a dancer. The two women's eventful lives are intertwined. In the years before the First World War, the girls lose touch when Jeanie runs away from home and joins a dance company, while Lily attends The Mack, Glasgow's famous school of art designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. A chance meeting reunites them and together they discover a Glasgow at the height of its wealth and power as the Second City of the Empire - and a city of poverty and overcrowding. Separated once again after the war, Lily and Jeanie find themselves on opposite sides of the world. Lily follows her husband to Shanghai while Jeanie's dance career brings her international fame. But the glamour and dissolution of 1920s Shanghai finally lead Lily into peril. Her only hope of survival lies with her old friend Jeanie, as the two women turn to desperate measures to free Lily from danger. Inspired by the eventful and colourful lives of the pioneering women artists The Glasgow Girls, particularly that of Eleanor Allen Moore, Daisy Chain is a story of independence, women's art, resilience and female friendship, set against the turbulent background of the early years of the 20th century.

On 26 March 2015 the Mental Health Foundation staged The Dust of Everyday Life, a conference at the CCA in Glasgow designed to ask challenging questions about the relationship between mental health and the arts. The findings will help to shape future editions of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival, as we prepare for our tenth programme in 2016. This is a recording of the opening session, in which we marked the tenth anniversary of the Glasgow Girls campaign by looking back at how a group of Drumchapel schoolgirls helped transform perceptions of a stigmatised community, and asking what other campaigners, and storytellers, can learn from them. The panel consisted of Amal Azzudin (one of the Glasgow Girls, now working for the Mental Health Foundation), Cora Bissett(creator of Glasgow Girls the musical), Brian Welsh (director of Glasgow Girls the TV drama) and Lindsay Hill (director of the Glasgow Girls documentary). The session was chaired by Joyce McMillan (theatre critic and cultural commentator, the Scotsman).
