We then move on to the introduction of Mary, and why she is the way she is, the generational change we see in the Musgrove family, and the very unsympathetic portrayal of Dick Musgrove. The character we discuss is Lady Russell. One thing that is uncontrollable is an internet connection and we fought two different internet connections and I finally had to throw in the white flag. We'll have to have Daisy Chains back on sometime because we didn't get everything talked about in this session. Our 6/2/2024 show was plagued by Portland, Oregon's internet -- plain and simple. This young lady is so full of energy and smiles that if you do get a chance to see her in person, she will light up your life, OR she'll spank you with her custom paddle that has her name on it in raised letters! We did get to know Daisy a bit and find out what makes her tick! For those going to Exxxotica in New Jersey, she will be there. Christian Parent, Crazy World
How Does God Meet Us in Our Brokenness and Suffering? (w/ Ruth Jackson) - Ep. 102

Christian Parent, Crazy World

The problem of pain has plagued humanity since the beginning of time. Many great apologists have grappled with the reality of suffering, endeavoring to form a theologically sound answer to life's hardest question.   In this poignant exchange, a couple of moms wrestle with pain and suffering from a distinctly maternal point of view. Catherine and her guest from across the great pond, Ruth Jackson, have a conversation that is real, raw, and refreshingly honest.   Miscarriage. Postpartum depression. Premature death.   When suffering these heartbreaking realities, the temptation is to ask WHY… and yet answering the WHY doesn't meet our deepest need.   The Christian faith does offer an apologetic for suffering, but more importantly our faith tradition presents a God who came to earth and was broken on our behalf. He is intimately acquainted with suffering. He meets us in our grief. And when we weep, He weeps with us.   As believers in Christ, we know who suffered for us. We know who suffers with us. And we know who will wipe away every tear and make all things new.   RUTH JACKSON'S BIO: Ruth is a producer and youth specialist for Premier Christian Radio's Unbelievable radio programme and podcast, which brings Christians and non-Christians together for dialogue. ue. Ruth studied theology at Oxford University before working at the BBC's flagship children's television show Blue Peter. She then moved to the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, where she helped set up the youth apologetics strand Reboot. Ruth contributed to Hope Rising 365, a book for young women. Fellcross has suffered a grave injustice, and the scaled company is ready to adjudicate. On one scale, a backed orc tribe with ties to a frost driven king who has hidden his identity quite well. On the other, an obvious necrotic resurection of one of the gods of the dual divinity orchestrating their own orc control. The crime is attacking, raiding, burning, and slaughtering of the non-orc race.    Is our team as impartial as we would like to lead? With an obvious church to Erabon on our own property and a shifting neutrality in the pursuit of gold, the challenge is met on rough terrain. Can the backstories fly any faster in episode 31 of Dungeonetics? Listen in and find out!

In today's podcast, Steve and Clare discuss ways to start a coaching session. We've talked a good deal about endings, but less about beginnings. Here, we notice how the first minute in a coaching session provides rich data and that if we meet them where they are at that time, we can support the thinker to talk out loud and iterate in the moment about what's most important to bring to this coaching session – much more than going into a standard question such as “what do you want to work on today?”

Richard Dawkins and his fellow New Atheists ended up causing many people to turn to Christianity. Rather than showing the credibility of Atheism, many became disillusioned by the arguments of Dawkins. This caused them to take another look at religious faith which led them to Christianity. Join me and Ruth Jackson as we discuss the journey of 12 men and women from five different countries out of atheism and into Christianity. These individuals were philosophers, artists, historians, engineers, scientists, and more. Find out why they saw that "authentic Christian faith is in fact more intellectually convincing and rational than New Atheism." Ruth Jackson is a producer, presenter, and youth specialist for Premier Christian Radio's Unbelievable? program and podcast, presents The CS Lewis Podcast with Professor Alister McGrath, and hosts Unapologetic. She interviews leading apologists, theologians, and evangelists in order to help Christians understand, defend, and share their faith with confidence. She also plays bass guitar in the award-winning all-girl rock ‘n roll band The Daisy Chains.

After a self care break here at Sound Coalitions, we're back! And we brought with us an opening club set by emerging Bay Area artist Clarity. Clarity(she/they/it)is a techno DJ originating from London, with current roots in the Bay Area. She engaged the art of DJing during the pandemic, doubling down on a deep love of the rave culture from her European home base. With this consolidation of passion and mixing, she's podcasted for stations across Europe and the world including FOLD, Instruments of Discipline, Erotic Sentimentalism, HRA Berlin, Dusk Records, Singularity LA, DaisyChain, Techno's Children, and Speedmaster Records. It is clear her sound resonates with the tastes of listeners, and this live recording can attest. Simply put, Clarity works with an undulating mix of tracks that are hard, fast, trippy and at times, perhaps spiritual to some ears. She is resident of London's warehouse series @rave.signal and played for fabulous queer focused/friendly parties including @h_t_b_x @riposte.london @ggi.club @musa.platform @planetfunasmr @hedonistfest @she.they.dj We thank Clarity for the gift of this mix and hope you listeners enjoy the next hour and half. It's the very first in our long discussed Musical Journey series, and who else to dive on the proverbial emotional grenade than Eric?!? Shepherding him along on his journey (aka taking over hosting duties and doing a FAR better job at it) are Mark from The Evil Mark Show, the head degenerate on the fastest growing sports show taking the world by storm, which you can hear each Thursday (with ME!), and each.....day TBD, for the NFL/(After Hours in the offseason) show, with Jared. Find out more information on the Twitter feed, and of course Super Producer/Co-host Jared, from 'Feathers And Friends' and 'Parrot Gaming Productions'. You can find the playlist for the awesome music and avoid the blah blah blah by clicking here. The Musical Journey idea was suggested by Gallo, from Sucias Are My Favorite, and the questions/categories spun out from that original idea to now include:        1) The First song you remember (not nursery rhyme or cartoon jingle, the first “real” song your parents or an adult played for you/around you? Layla – Derek & The Dominos      2) The First song / album that you bought on your own, or was the first in your own collection?  Kill Your Television – Ned's Atomic Dustbin        3) Song that reminds you of your first crush/date/partner?  Think About You – Guns N Roses         4) Song you listened to in high school that maybe wasn't your taste but you still enjoyed?  Watermelon Crawl – Tracy Byrd      5) Song you listened to in college/military?  Violet - Hole    6) Song you listened to that first made you appreciate/love your favorite genre, even if it's not your favorite song? Shadowboxer – Fiona Apple         7)  Song about your current partner?  Slip Slide Melting – For Love Not Lisa      8) Song that has the top plays on itunes/spotify that is not your favorite –  Begging For Thread - Banks       9) A Daisy Chain 4 Satan (Acid & Flowers Mix) – My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult (this is in position 6 because of timing)     10) Suicide King – Machines Of Loving Grace (this is in position 7 because of timing)     11) Cuts You Up – Peter Murphy (this is in position 9 because of timing)      12) Church On White – Stephen Malkmus 13) Your favorite all time song? Dilate – Ani DiFranco Mark puts a spin on Is It Aerosmith? by making it Is It Hootie? and it works well enough that we'll stick with that for these Musical Journey eps. If you, or a loved one, is, or has been affected by sexual violence, please know that there are good people and organizations in the world that can offer help. RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. NSVRC (national sexual violence research center) has resources to help victims, and, importantly, tips on prevention and warning signs.
