Open Forum: Pastor Amos led a rich and transparent open forum discussion where participants explored how to make decisions led by God rather than by emotion. Carron raised questions about discerning God's voice when emotions are high, prompting Pastor Amos to encourage taking time to calm down, ask what Jesus would do, and trust God's guidance even through potential missteps. The conversation expanded to include topics like biblical interpretation, counseling methods, and the role of peace and fear in decision-making. Pastor Amos distinguished between following peace and avoiding discomfort, and he urged caution in projecting personal biases onto scripture. Testimonies about healing, personal growth, and wrestling with traditional doctrines enriched the dialogue, with Rosalind sharing her evolving views on baptism, tongues, and modesty. Pastor Amos emphasized the value of understanding scripture in context and avoiding man-made doctrines that can lead to spiritual bondage.

Deadspin is being sold off months after calling a 9-year old Kansas City Chiefs fan a racist. I'm sure these two things are totally unrelated. Worse, the CEO of G/O Media gave the entire editorial staff only 30 MINUTES of notice that they were now unemployed. Way to go, Carron. We're back! This time with a perfect warmup for DERvos in a few days with DERTF OG Ben Carron. Ben has not only worked for FERC, Nat Grid, SunRun, E3, and now Enel X, but also was one of the earliest presenters at our original, pre-pandemic “DG Beers” happy hours. We wanted to have Ben on to get back to our energy market wonkery roots, so don't worry—you won't hear any stuff about twitter culture discourse on this ep. In it, we talk about the early “DG Beers” days, dunkelflaute, James' take that maybe market structure doesn't matter all that much for DERs, Ben's take how maybe geography is more important than market structure, a reminder that ultimately DERs need to stand on their own merits, different schemes of crediting T&D vs. energy/capacity benefits, if renewables can thrive in a capacity market, trusting the deal-making nature of all governance structures, and so much more about what the hell else who knows! We barely even understand ourselves. Tune in to bathe in the wonkery! This is a public episode. In episode 107, I chat with Christine Carron. Christine is a writer, productivity expert, and the founder of Goodjelly, where she helps writers build sustainable creative productivity using smart process, grounded power, and inner kindness.Tips for how to get “jamming” and take charge of your writing adventure1. Remember: Writerly work is more than just writing (reading articles, working on references, learning technology, etc.)2. Get a handle on your writerly work so you can make progress (understand that there is more to writing than just writing)3. Break down your work into manageable, moveable bits. This will help you get “done boosts" and keep your motivation going. 4. Celebrate each little win. Pick something small and simple, but something that will bring you a spark of joy. What will make you smile? (scratch n sniff stickers anyone?)5. Make your work “easier” by understanding how technology or help from others can help the process (e.g., bookmarking important websites, getting trained in technology that is slowing you down, etc.)6. Hard-core suffering is counterproductive (refrain from wearing the badge of misery)7. Part of the creative process is being blocked – this is NORMAL (it means you are doing the work – so YAY!)8. When you are blocked: First and foremost be kind to yourself – then, ask yourself what you think is the cause, come up with solutions, test them, eventually you will get unblocked9. Kindness works when you have smart processes and grounded power10. The inner critic is really good at problem spotting (it wants to keep you safe) – but it is not good at problem solving (this is an important insight - so read that again)11. When you hear your inner critic, listen to it, but instruct it that they doesn't need to handle this, and then take action to resolve the “problem”12. Your journey is yours – stay true to yourself, be playful and see yourself as the hero of your adventure Connect with Christine@leagueofgoodjelly: https://www.instagram.com/leagueofgoodjelly/Facebook business page: https://www.facebook.com/hellogoodjellyLinkedIn Business Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/goodjellyChristine's LinkedIn Page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/goodjelly/Access the blueprint webinar here: https://www.Goodjelly.com Get The Happy Doc Student Handbook: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0578333732Other resources at: http://Expandyourhappy.com Support this free content: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/expandyourhappyWant to make my day? Many writers don't know the fundamentals of process and mindset management, which results in unnecessary struggle, doubt, and despair. Even worse, they start to believe that if they were only a "better writer" the journey would be easier. That kind of inner critic thinking further dents their confidence.Fueled by the belief that the writing adventure doesn't have to be so hard, Christine Carron launched her company Goodjelly in 2021. To do so, she combined her love of writing with 25 years of experience as a process improvement expert and project manager. The Jam Experience, Goodjelly's multi-signature small-group coaching program, teaches writers how to cultivate flow, handle blocks with ease, build their confidence, and make consistent writing progress. The results have been transformative.Christine also blogs weekly, furthering her mission to help as many writers as possible take charge of their writing adventure using the three pillars of Goodjelly: Smart Process, Grounded Power, and Inner Kindness.Today's Interview Topics· Sustainable creative productivity· Total Writing Work Management· Handling your Inner Critic Goodjelly-style· How to delight in your creative process· Building creative momentum· Cultivating a productive mindset· Agile for ArtistsQuestions we explore:· What are the 3 keys to unlock sustainable creative productivity?· What are the three pillars of consistent writerly progress?· What is invisible work and how does it mess with creative momentum?· What is code and context and how do those two concepts impact your creative productivity?· What are some creative productivity styles and why is it important that writers know (and embrace) their productivity style?· What is one no-fail way to get out of a writing slump?· What is a "Done Boost" and why should writers want a lot of them?· How can writers work through any writing block?Discover more in these articleshttps://www.goodjelly.com/blog/pillars-of-progresshttps://www.goodjelly.com/blog/4-productivity-typeshttps://www.goodjelly.com/blog/7tips-q4planninghttps://www.goodjelly.com/blog/bouncehttps://www.goodjelly.com/blog/courage-practicesChristine's Website @leagueofgoodjelly on Instagram Copyright 2023 Mark Stinson
