She invites us into our senses for a "geohaptic" connection. Imagine that your six senses—touch, sight, sound, taste, smell, and intuition—are six thick roots extending from your body down, down, down to the center of the planet, where they anchor into what Annie Dillard once called Holy the Firm. Holy the Firm can be whatever you name as ultimate:• Goddess/God• gravity or time• molten metal or mystery• the sacred, the absolute, the hum at the center of thingsFrom that core, these roots rise back through the layers of the earth—rock and soil, water and air—reaching into your veins, your skin, your bones, your mind, and heart."You are socketed into the living world through your senses."This deep rooting is a gift.And, a quote to remember and draw strength from:“When the world feels hard, remember this: We live on a planet where trees feed their dying elders through underground rivers of root and fungus. Lilith for me represents having and maintaining high self respect, and commanding respect from others. She helps give me the courage to walk away from all that is not in alignment with my higher self, and to really be my authentic self unapologetically. Her energy has always been strong in me, though I've noticed as I was creating this that her essence was more powerful and noticeable. I find that when I'm doing internal work like the methods I provided, I am tapped in Goddess Liliths energy without knowing it, as if she's my mentor. "Marla, I need help working on my belly". "Hummm, okay", I say. "I've tried this workout and this new diet and nothing helps. What can I do?" This is a common question I get. In honest, the only thing that will help you is to understand what is actually going on in and around your beautiful belly, the amazing story it is telling you, and the SUPER IMPORTANT role those Goddess/God-like love handles actually play. In this episode, you and I chat about your relationship with your belly region, the 4 main reasons our intestines tend to distend and swell. I made up this handy little acronym "D.A.N.G. Girl" to help us remember. Then we go into the only one way that you can work to diminish your love handles if that is your goal, how you DON'T want to get rid of it (spoiler: it's through dieting), and the only one way to prevent additional accumulation of tissue to that lovely midriff of yours. I hope after listening in to this episode you can look at your amazing bellies in an entirely new light. Every glorious cell of you serves a purpose, and the story of what the adipose tissue or fat cells that surround our digestive organs (we just think of them as our love handles or our beer bellies), is amazing and one to be in AWE of.  You're gorgeous. A diverse program tonight indeed!  First up is Minister Daphneleah sharing her experience of Wedding Wisdom for those out there planning their big day, or perhaps helping a loved one to plan their wedding.  Beyond the obvious, Daphneleah shares with us the importance of self care and self love, how to stay true to oneself while attending to the needs of family and friends, choosing an officiant and why that's important, and gives examples of a Goddess/God focused wedding flow.  Crossing the threshold into the second half of the show, I'll offer a meditation to Sekhmet, Lady of Tenacity Manifested, as our country deals with the summer heat, drought and fires.

In our ancient and Afrikan tradition of communalism, cooperation and collectivity, we open with Libation.  By pouring Libations, we recognize all who have gone before and on whose shoulders we today stand and are obligated.. With one person pouring water, the substance of life, onto the ground or a plant, we all participate by responding in an Afrikan tongue, in essence saying, "so be it, it is done."   We say it in an Afrikan tongue to reclaim and reconstruct our person/peoplehood, our Goddess/God given humanity...far more important and superior to the accident of our "citizenry" or place of birth.  It can be said in Yoruba ( A shea), Akan (Ya al),  Meta Netu ( Hotep ), Zulu ( Ye Bo ), or any Afrikan language of which you may have knowledge.  "Amen" is also  an ancient Afikan (Khemet/Egyptian) word commonly used, but it's Afrikan origin is unrecognized.  Amen of Ammon was Egyptian, a solar deithy, he personified the sun after it had descended below the western horizon and thus hidden from sight.  Call and response, we do it in our churches and conversations all the time.  By Dr. Leonard Jefferies Educator, Author, Historian and Africanist Heaven for a Thug?: Why Libation and Young Warriors Don't Mix Since as long as anybody can remember, young brothers have been pouring out liquor on the street corner for their fallen friends, young men that have died from gang violence, disease, police violence and drug wars.
