POPULARITY

Coach Googs talks about the balance of hard work in the classroom and on the field, “I’ve never met a player who said he regretted working too hard”. I was able to take a tour and check out the baseball facilities at UC and they are second to none. It is a top tier facility in the Midwest which should help get recruits and keep the top high school players in the area. We also get into high school recruiting and talk about the best ways of getting seen. Coach says “In this day and age with technology and video if you are good enough you will be found, just go play”. Way to many kids are obsessed with going division 1 and Coach Googs says he doesn’t want a player if all they care about is going D 1. Players get drafted from Top tier SEC schools all the way to JUCO and Division III and NAIA. It doesn’t matter, go worry about being the best player you can be and the rest will fall into place.
