Chaos is a ladder... into this week's episode as we read chapters 48-54 of The Raven King through, you guessed it, the theme of chaos. In this section, Gwenllian gives Gansey some advice, and then he rushes off to follow a storm of birds to his king. He gets in the Camaro and goes. Ronan is woken by Blue to the news that Gansey has gone–he offers to dream something that will help find him. The Camaro does Gansey a solid by breaking down, allowing Henry the chance to help. They follow the birds to the same place Gansey first died. He comes to the conclusion that he was saved so he could find Glendower and kill the demon; and Henry finds the opening to a cave. Gansey decides to go in on his own. We're returning to the foundational theme of connections. You can check out season 5 for The Raven Boys, season 8 for The Dream Thieves, and season 10 for Blue Lily, Lily Blue. You can find the show notes on the website. We're reading chapters 41-47 of The Raven King through the theme of shame this week. In this section, Gwenllian attacks Artemus, who retreats into Blue's favorite beech tree. Adam and Ronan dream together and find disease and death in Cabeswater. Gansey, meanwhile, has taken Henry and Blue to lunch with his parents. The Gangsey is reunited to support Ronan. Blue finally gets to talk to her father, who tells the story of the tir e e'lintes, the tree lights, and tells her, finally, how they can stop the demon: by a willing sacrifice along the corpse road. We're returning to the foundational theme of connections. You can check out season 5 for The Raven Boys, season 8 for The Dream Thieves, and season 10 for Blue Lily, Lily Blue. As if one Welsh woman war chief wasn't enough we've got another barer of the XX chromosome that had bigger proverbial balls than most of the men knocking around back then.Hit play and listen to how Gwenllian led the Welsh against the invading Normans with a sprinkling of Glasto hate.Humour us humble podcast hosts by checking out our socials please, darls.
Pretty grim topic this week but one that comes up often enough for these characters, sadly – we're reading chapters 33-37 of Blue Lily, Lily Blue through the theme of violence. In this section, the Greenmantles go spelunking. Piper continues to be weird and it's freaking Colin out! Gwenllian, meanwhile, is wreaking noisy havoc at 300 Fox Way, but the Gray Man asks her to sing her story, and she does. She shows Blue that they're the same, they're mirrors. If things aren't weird and spooky enough, there's a scaffolding failure at Aglionby and where Adam should have been killed, he's been perfectly protected–Cabeswater again. Heads up: Jenn D's story today talks about corporal punishment for kids, and we talk about the ramifications of growing up in countries with normalized violence If that's not your jam, the story starts at 3:55 minutes in, and we move on to chapter summaries at 11:25. We're well into our journey with The Raven Cycle - check out season 5 for The Raven Boys and season 8 for The Dream Thieves. You can find the show notes on the website. We're all about hospitality this week as we read chapters 28-32 of Blue Lily, Lily Blue. In this section, it's raining blood and there's a comet and they've rescued an ancient madwoman who just happens to be Gwenllian, illegitimate daughter of Owen Glendower. They trundle her back to 300 Fox Way, where Persephone has been waiting for her. Malory tells Blue a little bit about Gansey before. Ronan and Adam go to church to dream up terrible evidence in order to implicate Colin Greenmantle in a series of disgusting crimes. Adam's father turns up at his apartment and tries to intimidate him, then hurt him, but Cabeswater intervenes. We're well into our journey with The Raven Cycle - check out season 5 for The Raven Boys and season 8 for The Dream Thieves. We're also still actively recording this season so if you have thoughts or questions let us know at hello@marginaliapod.com, and we'll answer them as we go! Who wrote The Four Branches of the Mabinogi? That's a question numerous Celtic scholars have attempted to answer over the years, but none have been able to provide definitive proof to support their claims. This lack of evidence has prompted others to venture beyond the usual suspects of monks and clerics and instead consider more uncommon candidates such as Gwenllian, warrior princess of Wales . . .

This episode is full of questions. Why did God punish an unruly vicar by giving him in a hole in one? Why did the Welsh spend years charging into battle screaming "Justice for Gwenllian?" Why is one of Becky's Poppa's poems hanging up near a nurse's office? Why don't people have a poop knife for every bathroom? And why did someone leave a comment on one of Amy's videos which just said "titties"? Thankfully, we manage to answer all these questions and more. Well. Apart from the last one. No-one is every going to be able to answer the last one. Get in touch with us on social media on @andthenwhatpod, and email us on andthenwhatpod@gmail.com. G'wan. We'd love to hear from you.
This is a podcast for truth, you guys. A lot of stuff is happening in this book. So much stuff! We’re honestly confused about a lot of it but ADAM PARRISH AND RONAN LYNCH TOTALLY KISSED and it’s all we really care about, to be quite honest. Other stuff--Gansey gives relationship advice, Blue saves the day, Henry meets the Grey Man, and Piper kills Gwenllian’s (alleged) mother Neeve (???). Grab your happy ball of light and let’s roll!
