Thriving Adoptees - Inspiration For Adoptive Parents & Adoptees
The need to heal the “Primal Wound” assumes we are wounded. It is important to remember that it's based on the perspective of adoptive mother Nancy Verrier, NOT an adoptee. It can leave us feeling: *stuck with the belief we cannot heal. *unsure of what to do next for the best. *pathologized for an event we had no choice in. *More and more adoptees are questioning the wound narrative and wanting to take back their power. Post Traumatic Growth is an altogether more empowering, hopeful and positive perspective that allows us to do exactly that. Mind The next 4 sessions will look at what's going on in our minds, opening to and focussing on growth and what gets in the way of that. We'll use metaphors such as mind-set v mind-fluid to bust old beliefs and access new and healthier perspectives. It's all about harnessing your brain's ability to recover and transcend trauma. Body The 4 webinars on Body will get to the heart of pre-verbal, pre-memory trauma looking into Somatics, self care and embodiment to bring subconscious trauma into the warm and healing light of awareness. This is all about shifting your moment to moment lived experience to peace and calm Heart You will learn all about attuning to your heart, being guided by your intuition over 4 sessions. We will go upstream of feelings to their source and learn about creating new flows for a more contented life being triggered less, with less intensity. Social How can we navigate relationships – even the tough ones with adoptive and biological families – with more ease? 4 sessions on setting and keeping boundaries, communication, the double-edged sword of validation in adoptee communities, self- leadership and feeling like we belong Spirit Who are we at our core, our essence that's untouched by our trauma. A non-religious take on the self v the Self to understand and live our sovereignty. These 4 sessions are all about the many ways we can leave our trauma bound identity behind for a more authentic and contented life Integration 2 sessions to pull the last 22 together to catalyse our growth and transformation. Stepping into a role as alchemist to turn darkness into light, trauma into joy. Weekly Learning & Practice – 24 X 60 minute sessions Guided Support, Mentorship, Group Support & Accountability through a dedicated Facebook Group Starts: Wednesday 31st July at 9am PST, Noon EST, 5pm UK Runs every Wednesday for 24 weeks Price: £75 (approx. $100)/month for 6 months Register now - only 12 places for this first cohort (£150 per month for future cohorts) at www.thrivingadoptees.com About the speakers: About Jude Adopted at 2 days old, Jude was told the first time her mother held her, “you are adopted”. As a Reiki Master, certified aromatherapist, massage therapist and meditation teacher, she uses a variety of tools in showing people how to cultivate a life of authenticity, empowerment and fulfillment. On June 4th, 2019, she received a letter from her biological mother that pushed her out of the fog and into the realization that she had been carrying, in her body, the trauma of being relinquished. This was the final ah-ha on her personal healing journey that brought her to the root of the grief, pain and fear she had struggled with throughout her life. Now, 56, Jude has a blog, facilitates workshops and weekly adoptee support groups. She resides in Asheville, NC with her husband, Jeff and dog Skyler. About Simon Simon but was adopted at 5 weeks old and told so young he doesn't ever remember not knowing. He didn't come out of the fog until he was 40 when he found out that my teddy bear was a gift from his birth mother. That unleashed an eruption of anger, feeling rejected and unloved. That led to a quest to heal, healing and a desire to help others. A letter from his birth mother (Pat) caused a profound realisation that she loved him dearly and a visceral connection with her. He later found out that she had died, but the depth of their felt connection helped Simon take this in his stride. He's now 57, runs Thriving Adoptees and lives in Hunsingore, near York, UK with his wife, 2 labradors Rosie and Indie and pet pig Buster (who lives outside). He has interviewed over 400 adoptees and run webinars for many, many more on advocacy, healing and thriving. Guests and the host are not (unless mentioned) licensed pscyho-therapists and speak from their own opinion only. Seek qualified advice if you need help.

Emotions usually get filtered through our head before our heart even has the chance to feel and express them. This can result in bottled-up feelings, and in the name of rationality, breed unresolved issues. It's a common tendency to let our head rule the heart when we don't trust ourselves. The mind functions with facts and logic, but our heart works with intuition. So, who should be in charge? _________________________________________________________ Rajeev Mudumba's Website: www.rajeevmudumba.com Plan B Success Podcast: Available on your favorite platform including iTunes @ https://apple.co/2JCSysL?ls=1 or www.planbsuccess.live or www.planb.live https://www.planbsuccessschool.thinkific.com - You can be a successful Entrepreneurs and can do a LOT with your very own podcast. The messages of self-love, follow your heart, and be true to yourself are permeating our culture today. But this formula of looking inward to find value within our own goodness isn't working. Many of us are finding ourselves on a never-ending cycle of striving to be good enough but never measuring up. This is not what God intended for us. He never asks us to be enough or to love ourselves more. God sent Jesus to be enough for us. That's what the Gospel is all about. That's where true hope and lasting worth is found. If you desire to find lasting worth and identity in something, Someone, more sustaining than yourself, this episode is for you.BOOKS: The Girl Defined Conference (TICKETS)Shine Bright Devotional Girl Defined Love Defined Sex, Purity and the Longings of a Girl's Heart You're Not Enough (And That's Okay)

The Moon, ruler of your emotional world is full in Libra March 28, 2021. Today, the Libra moon is opposed by cooperative Venus, the self assured Sun and the powerful wounded healer Chiron. Venus is marking this time for important healing of the heart. Venus in her evening star phase will help us heal our deep seated wounds and draw in our true companions. The ones that will not abandon us for being ourselves. The pain of the Chiron wound comes when we are rejected for just being us. When that happens to a child they grow up feeling that something is ugly and awful wrong about them. But Luckily it's this wounded part, cast out from under the wing, leads us to our greatest most fulfilling life. As we seek to heal this debilitating wound we find the magic that works for us. We transform, our heart learns compassion, we pass along a legacy of healing. Noble heart work. This Libra full moon reminds us we need each other. But it also lets us know that we need to be ourselves, no matter the cost. If we want to live and thrive and come to balance and love and trust. Our happiness comes from being ourselves. With Chiron, the Sun and Venus all in a conjunction in Libras opposite, self concerned Aries, we can go forward bravely. We know we are worth it and ef anyone who can't see it. There is no time to waste waffling over those blind to your unique value. With so much Aries we can absorb some much needed confidence and certainty. Turn away from the past and pioneer a new future. Full of independence (Aries) and interdependence (Libra). Now that you know you can let go, you can move towards compatible companions. The wound has healed. Your heart is whole. Saturn trines this moon, it gives us the discipline we need to do the hard work of unearthing, of forging ahead, of detaching from the past to open to an unknown future. It's hard work. Saturn loves it. Trining air signs lift us up and out of the past to bring us the fresh air of a new future. Breathe it. In. Deeply. The last few days of March hold much potential for highly inspired innerstanding. Your Spirit guides are getting through. Your Dreams are guiding you. Your Values are guiding you. Your Healed Heart knows where it wants to go. So get there. Look up to the moon and see if you can sense what it is. It's so bizarre and mysterious. Does it seem 384,400 km away? If you take the time to follow its phases and the signs it moves through every couple days you will see how really magical it is. We are connected to this magical system. We are one. Wishing you a happy self assured Heart- You are worthy. Follow your dream. Passionately pursuing the life and lifestyle of Christ in Queen Creek. I will always produce harm in me if my soul is not in harmony. Jesus came to bring redemption to our hearts, revelation to our minds, and resurrection to our bodies. In order for us to become fully alive, we must first become fully aware. “Nearly all wisdom we possess, that is to say, true and sound wisdom, consists of two parts: the knowledge of God and the knowledge of ourselves.” John Calvin PERSONALIZING THE PROBLEMS It is your woundedness and wickedness that keeps you from full deliverance. Heart – struggles with various forms of shame. (2s, 3s, 4s) • “If I stop pushing my image, then I’ll be found worthless.” • You crave approval and affection. Mind – struggles with various forms of fear. (5s, 6s, 7s) • “I will sink if I don’t keep swimming.” • You crave security and survival. Body – struggles with various forms of anger. (8s, 9s, 1s) • “If I let my guard down, I’ll be annihilated.” • You crave power and justice. Galatians 5:16-21 – Wicked works of the flesh. • Heart – pride, deceit, envy • Mind – greed, fear, gluttony • Body – lust, sloth, anger Galatians 5:22-26 – Righteous fruit of the Spirit. • Heart – faithfulness, gentleness, joy • Mind – love, peace, self-control • Body – goodness, kindness, patience PERSONALIZING THE PRACTICES Your Christian life will be that of frustration, if you are not intentional with spiritual formation. Intentionally integrate your heart, mind, and body to the way of Jesus. • Heart – You are what you love. • Mind – What you think does more than you think. • Body – What you do shapes what you love. LOVING GOD – GOD TIME AND GATHER TIME God Time Silence + Solitude Fasting Sabbath Prayer Gather Time Worship Service Giving Communion LOVING OTHERS – GROUP TIME AND GO TIME Group Time Fellowship Bible Study Confession Conflict Resolution Go Time Hospitality Evangelism Peace Making Disciple Making Commit to Daily and Weekly, Feasting and Releasing Practices Daily Feasting Practice: Daily Releasing Practice: Weekly Feasting Practice: Weekly Releasing Practice: 5 Lessons Learned About The Practices of Jesus Trying to behave like Jesus leads to death. Training to become like Jesus leads to life. The practices are not removal to get approval. They are making space for God’s grace. Grace isn’t anti-practice. Grace is anti-performance. Our practices have the power to forecast our future. Dwelling on God’s love for me keeps the practices from drudgery.
