Want to learn more about watches? email us at support@chriswarnes.com We buy, sell, trade, consign, service, source and repair. Do you want to work with us on a timepiece? email us support@chriswarnes.com In this video, I'll share my personal picks for the best timepieces available around the $2,000 mark. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just getting started, these watches offer great quality, style, and wrist presence without breaking the bank. Here's the breakdown: 1. Tudor Black Bay M79540 Available in several dials, though the black dial is a standout for me. Slight resemblance to the iconic Submariner, but with its own unique character. At 41mm, it's a great size that's noticeable but not overpowering. Priced right around $2,000 on the secondary market. 2. TAG Heuer Formula 1 Date (WAZ2011) A classic with a deep connection to motorsports history. Bold wrist presence with a 43mm case size, larger than the Tudor. Easily recognizable design and available new for a bit over $2,000; used models can be found for less. 3. Oris Aquis Date (01 733 7789) Featuring a striking green dial and matching rubber strap. At 43.5mm, it's an eye-catching piece; Oris nails this shade of green. An underrated model from a brand that deserves more attention. 4. Breitling Endurance Pro Available in a range of colors and options, with sizes in both 44mm and 38mm (targeted at women). Powered by "Super Quartz," so keep in mind it's not automatic. Lightweight and great for sports or gym wear; priced around $2,000 new on the secondary market, and even lower pre-owned. 5. Omega Seamaster (2850.5) A vintage, mid-80s automatic model with a 50mm case. Omega has a long history of quality with the Seamaster line, making this a solid option if you can find one in good condition. These watches offer style, history, and a solid build at a relatively affordable price for luxury. Let me know in the comments which of these you'd pick or if there are others you'd recommend in this price range! Get your Dominate Your Day Book https://chriswarnes.com/book/

Redmond megmondta a tutit! April walks you through a busy astrological week, featuring the April 12 conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune. This comparatively rare conjunction occurs about once every 13 years. Jupiter and Neptune are both connected with voyages, transformation, and realizing dreams, but with these big changes can come a sense of loss and a need to let go of the past to make room for the future. April helps you to decrypt the Sabian symbol for this conjunction, “An Inhabited Isle,” and shares a personal story of a big life change that she experienced during a previous Jupiter-Neptune conjunction. April then turns to the sextile aspect between the Sun and Saturn, which falls on one of her personal favorite Sabian symbols, a dreamy image of a breeze drifting in through an open window, blowing a net curtain softly into a cornucopia. This is a time for you to take a step back from the demands of your life and to meditate on your Jupiter journey. And as Mars the go-getter enters sympathetic Pisces, it's time to take action on the things that matter to you and will help improve the world. Blissfully wedded invisible friends Maria and Bret introduce the Moon Report with a melodious rendition of the old Moonwatch theme. Appropriately, this week's Full Moon is in the musical and relationship-oriented sign of Libra; how have your Aries New Moon ambitions been impacting your partnerships?  If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with one of your astrology-loving buddies and let April know! Mars is the planet of action, but like a bear on its hindquarters, it's tempered by Saturn's restraining influence. In other news, Venus enters Pisces, where the planet of love does some of its best work, and April looks at Mercury's busy week as it transitions from Aries and into Taurus. Plus, a review of the Sabian symbols - what they mean, how to use them, and why April's so infatuated with them! This week: Mercury in sleepy Pisces wakes up with an exciting sextile aspect to Uranus, on the Sabian symbol, A man handling baggage. Shall we take this as a gentle suggestion to sort out our own baggage, particularly the emotional kind? April's advice is to choose a focal point for sorting out, such as a cupboard or a small closet - a manageable project that won't overload your Mercury mind. A square aspect between Venus (the planet of love) and Uranus (planet of disruption) could spell problems for romantic relationships and bank accounts. Helpfully, Venus is in Aquarius, a sign that doesn't mind shaking things up. Finally, let's throw an astrological New Year's party as the Sun moves into Aries! Mercury enters dreamy Pisces this week, and it's one of the more difficult signs for the planet of information and communication. Pisces doesn't favor straightforward sharing of knowledge, but this doesn't mean that you'll be missing out on vital messages. They could still come to you but in more mysterious ways, through dreams or poems for example. If you want to make the most of this particular Mercury, don't schedule important meetings or major updates on your computer. Instead, try to get in touch with your inner poet and leave space for daydreaming, creativity, and fantasy. This week's Gemini First Quarter Moon harkens back to the June 2021 Solar Eclipse, and not necessarily in a good way. And the Sun comes together with Neptune, like a sunset over the ocean (watch for the green flash!). Plus: a simple system to understand the planetary flow in your chart, which is also a handy tool for finding aspects from transits to your birth chart. There was an important event in the heavens last week, so we begin with a deep dive into the Lunar Nodes changing signs! Then we catch up on the happenings of the upcoming week: Mars (marching forward) and Mercury (sliding backward) enter Capricorn; a Scorpio Last Quarter Moon calls to mind October 2019; the planet of communication joins Pluto on a mountain pilgrimage for the second time; Venus, briefcase in hand, turns direct; and the Aquarian Sun awakens bull-headed, unpredictable Uranus (cue the music for Saturn to become involved in the ruckus soon!). Plus: the beauty and bounty of National Parks, axe licking, and… can you really fool Mercury by setting up a computer during its retrograde?? Support the podcast by making a donation! Episode timestamps: 00:30 – April & Jen have big news, podpals! (And remember: You can always find Jen at her site, as well as on IG @JenBraun.MS.LPCC!) Love and hugs to everyone! . 03:23 – The Lunar Nodes entered Taurus and Scorpio last week (Jan. 18)! The Nodes travel backwards through the signs, and so you may recall that the Nodes entered Gemini/Sagittarius in May 2020 (learn more on Episode 24, Scorpio Full Moon & Lunar Nodes for Grasshoppers). The Nodes will be in Taurus and Scorpio through July 17, 2023, and this will trigger eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio as well. . 05:15 – What does it mean to have the Nodes in Taurus and Scorpio? How will that reflect in the world around us? Hint: The cosmic imperative at this time is to move away from the South Node, and toward the North Node. . 07:49 – The Nodes are going to be connecting with the 2021 Saturn/Uranus square! (Lend your ears to Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly!) Transiting planets that square the Nodal axis are a catalyst for transcendence and growth. In 2022, Mars will square the Nodes (April 5), perhaps bringing up confrontations requiring courage. And Saturn will also square Nodes (April 11), asking you to take responsibility for your growth. Also, transiting planets that conjoin one of the Nodes tip the scales toward one side of the process. On July 31/Aug. 1, Mars, Uranus, and the North Node will join up in Taurus. This can be an unsteady triple conjunction, but the hope is that it moves us in a better direction. . 08:58 – The Taurus North Node can also be about noticing simple pleasures, which can often be easily overlooked – the key is in the noticing. The Scorpio South Node can speak to releasing that which doesn't align with your authentic self. . 11:16 – Mars enters Capricorn (Jan. 24 – March 5), leaving no fire in the chart! On the days that the Moon moves through Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo we'll get that fire – but otherwise, if you find yourself feeling low energy, you might try to do things that are energizing and creative for you. . 13:01 – Head's up: While Mars is in Cap, it will join Pluto on March 3 – and Venus will be near the party, too! Over the next couple of days then, Mars and Venus both enter Aquarius and make a conjunction with each other. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, and its energy is restrained and disciplined. It's a good time for implementing strategy – but wait until Venus turns direct on Jan. 29 and Mercury turns direct on Feb. 3. . 15:48 – **MOONWATCH!** On Jan. 25, we have a Last Quarter (LQ) Moon at 5.33 Scorpio on the Sabian symbol, “A gold rush” – appropriate with Uranus involved! We also have a lovely trine to Jupiter at this lunation. LQ Moons always ask us to look back to see what adjustments need to be made – in this case, look to the New Moon in Cap from three weeks ago, as well as the Lunar Phase Family periods from Oct. 2019, July 2020, and April 2021. Eureka! . 18:52 – Retrograde (Rx) Mercury re-enters Capricorn (Jan. 25)! It was last at these final degrees of Capricorn on New Year's Day, so ponder: Do you want to rethink your New Year's resolutions? Perhaps there is something left unfinished in business or family matters. Remember, Mercury is still Rx through Feb. 3. After it turns direct, will be at this point again on Valentine's Day. It re-enters Aquarius on Feb. 15. (And it's always fun to review Episode 12, Mercury Retrograde: Where Are My Pants?) . 21:40 – Mercury joins Pluto at 26.51 Capricorn (Jan. 28). And yes, April was right – the Sabian symbol is, indeed, “A mountain pilgrimage”! This is the second of three conjunctions; the first was Dec. 30 and the last will be Feb. 11. Does a story connect for you related to thinking/communication and empowerment or “going deep” with something? (And we did discuss this previously! Listen to Episode 105, The Solstice, a Capricorn New Moon, & Zooming into a New Year!) . 23:23 – Venus turns direct at 11.04 Capricorn (Jan. 29)! And there was much rejoicing! This happens on the symbol, “A student of nature lecturing.” Hopefully we'll now see forward momentum in relationships, in money, and in the things that we enjoy. A reminder that Venus turned Rx on Dec. 19 at 26.29 Cap (Episode 104, Venus Turns Retrograde: Cheez Food Sirens!), and made a conjunction with Pluto on Dec. 11 and Dec. 25 (Episode 105, The Solstice, a Capricorn New Moon, & Zooming into a New Year!) and will join Pluto once more on March 3. . 26:03 – The Sun, at 10.52 Aquarius, squares Uranus in Taurus (Jan. 30), on the symbol “Man tête-à-tête with his inspiration.” Uranus is on, “A woman sprinkling flowers.” The propulsive qualities of Uranus might help us see little explosions of growth and inspiration, which sound nice! Note that the next day, we'll have the Aquarius New Moon on the symbol, “People on stairs graduated upwards.” Blain Bovee suggests this symbol is more of a gradual rise rather than sudden discoveries. So perhaps we'll feel driven to do something new, something creative – and although the inspiration comes suddenly, it might unfold gradually over time. [Note: Oops! The correct Sabian Symbol for this degree is “A barometer.” More on that in Episode 108!] . 28:04 – A few days later, on Feb. 4, the Sun will then join up with Saturn! (Yes, that again! Did you think we were done talking about the Saturn/Uranus square?

Note: the two also come thisclose on Oct. 1, 2022 at 18.58/18.21 Aquarius on the Sabian symbol, “A forest fire quenched.” (Hear more about this important aspect on Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly! and Episode 86, The Cancer Solstice: Not That There's Anything Wrong with That!) . 09:32 – April helpfully breaks down the difference between approaching vs. separating aspects. Does it include a party-planning metaphor? You betcha! . 11:00 – Venus joins up with Pluto at 25.43 Capricorn (Dec. 25) on the symbol, “A water sprite.” What is your true nature? This aspect may refer to people and situations that aren't right for you, or it could be a good time to get rid of possessions that no longer suit you. This is the second of three conjunctions: The first was Dec. 11, the last will be March 3, 2022. (Review Episode 104, Venus Turns Retrograde: Cheez Food Sirens!) . 12:19 – **MOONWATCH!** This week brings a Last Quarter Moon (Dec. 26/27) at 5.32 Libra on the Sabian symbol, “The ideals of a man abundantly crystalized.” The Sun sits on, “A dark archway and ten logs at the bottom.” Have any dreams come true for you? And can the logs be useful or are they obstacles? This action-oriented phase asks us to make one last push from the New Moon of 3 weeks ago, but also this marks the completion of the lunar phase family that began in late Sep. 2019 – think back to those times. What connects? . 16:16 – WEEK TWO (Dec. 27 – Jan. 2) begins with Jupiter entering Pisces (Dec. 28/29)! Jupiter represents where we want to grow and experience new things, and perhaps take chances. In Pisces: Does life have meaning? Are you growing spiritually? Think back to the last time the biggest planet was in the sign of boundlessness, and perhaps something will link to now: Jan. 17, 2010 – June 5, 2010 and Sep. 8, 2010 – Jan. 22, 2011. Jupiter was also there from May 13 – July 28, 2021 (Hear more on Episode 81, Taurus New Moon & Jupiter in Pisces: A Whale of a Show!) . 17:55 – In 2022, Jupiter will link up with Neptune in Pisces. More to come as we get closer to that April conjunction! . 21:30 – Mercury is doing things! The planet of communication joins up with Venus at 24.26 Capricorn (Dec. 29) and then with Pluto (Dec. 30, 25.53 Capricorn). On the 25th, Venus and Pluto met up, and now Mercury is acting as the translator between the two. . 23:10 – We begin the new year with the Sun, at 10.56 Capricorn, trine Uranus in Taurus (Jan. 1). The symbol for the Sun is, “a large group of pheasants” and Uranus is on, “a woman sprinkling flowers.” This speaks of bounty and beauty… sounds nice to us! . 24:24 – Mercury enters Aquarius (Jan. 1/2), bringing brilliant insights and new ways of thinking. Head's up: Mercury will be retrograde in Aquarius and Cap (Jan. 14 - Feb. 4). The messenger planet will travel backwards to station at 24.22 Capricorn, and then enters Pisces March 11. . 25:07 – **MOONWATCH!** There is a New Moon at 12.20 Capricorn (Jan. 2) on the Sabian symbol, “A fire worshipper.” With the Sun/Moon trine Uranus, this could indicate re-working old patterns, new inspiration, and change. . 28:10 – In this New Moon chart, all of the planets are on one side (Sagittarius to Taurus). Beware of hearing only what you want to hear. . 13:28 – WEEK TWO (Nov. 29 – Dec. 5) begins with Mars, at 20.24 Scorpio, trine Neptune in Pisces (Nov. 29). This could be a time to act on behalf of others, or on faith. It's a good week to get a little extra rest if you can! . 15:16 – The Sun, at 8.57 Sag, sextiles Saturn in Aquarius (Nov. 30). This indicates that perhaps a spirit of adventure will lead to opportunities for future success! . 15:51 – Why are Sagittarius and Aquarius compatible? Episode timestamps: 00:30 – Storms, podpets, and eclipses, oh my! We're entering eclipse season, and April is presenting a class on eclipses for Nadiya Shah's Synchronicity University, on Wed. Nov. 17 at 3 pm Pacific, 6 pm Eastern time. (And do visit Episode 5, Unboxing Eclipses if your ears want more!) . 03:05 – WEEK ONE (Nov. 8-14) starts off asking, “Do you really want that?” Mercury joins up with Mars (Nov. 10) at 7.22 Scorpio. Later that day, Mercury squares Saturn at 7.39 Aquarius; then Mars does the same from 7.40 Scorpio. (Hello, Saturn/Uranus square! Revisit Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly!) Mercury/Mars square Saturn can feel like tests of strength and endurance. (Or, like feats of strength!) Be aware that things may not go smoothly! . 06:53 – **MOONWATCH!** This week, a dynamic First Quarter (FQ) Moon (Nov. 11) at 19.20 Aquarius on the Sabian symbol, “A big white dove, a message bearer.” The Sun in Scorpio is on, “A woman drawing two dark curtains aside.” This lunar phase family began in mid-Feb 2021; think back to then for connections. . 08:40 – This FQ Moon also features two energized T-squares (not T-zones), so it might feel hard to get grounded. The exit is in Leeooooo!, so anything heart-opening might be helpful, or shine your light and be creative! . 12:40 – The Scorpio Sun trines Neptune at 20.30 Pisces (Nov. 12) on the symbol, “A soldier derelict in duty.” Is your “duty” in line with your personal and spiritual beliefs and ethics? . 15:14 – Suddenly telling secrets? Mercury, at 12.25 Scorpio, opposes Uranus in Taurus (Nov. 13). . 16:50 – Here's where to order a personalized Followed by a Moonshadow eclipse report! . 17:45 – WEEK TWO (Nov. 15-21) begins with the Sun square Jupiter at 23.40 Aquarius (Nov. 15). Try not to overdo it! . 19:11 – The Sun sextiles Pluto at 24.43 Capricorn (Nov. 16), and empowerment is the word of the day. . 20:46 – Mars, at 12.15 Scorpio, opposes Uranus in Taurus (Nov. 17). This continues a cycle that began Jan. 2021 (Episode 65, Mars, Uranus, and Revisiting the US Pluto Return). Look for bound-up energy being freed, or someone inspiring you to take unexpected or unusual action. . 23:18 – Venus, at 12.12 Capricorn, trines Uranus in Taurus (Nov. 18), signaling possible unexpected relationship developments. . 25:39 – Yay! This week's Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our non-imaginary sponsor, The Witches Are Watching podcast! Find them wherever you listen! . 28:44 – Interested in sponsoring Moonwatch? We'd love to chat! Let us know: April(at)bigskyastrology(dot)com . 29:19 – **MOONWATCH!** Eclipse season is here, featuring this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 27.14 Taurus (Nov. 19), on the symbol, “A woman pursued by mature romance.” The Sun is on, “The King of the fairies approaching his domain.” Eclipses signal change, and this one opens the series of Taurus/Scorpio eclipses that play out over the next couple of years, so it's a biggie. . 32:38 – Previous eclipses at this point: May 2012, Nov. 2002, Nov. 1994, and May 1985. Does anything from those times echo now? (And enjoy our 1985 hits in Episode 85, Gemini Solar Eclipse: Duets and Doublewide Hair!) . 35:39 – The Sun enters Sagittarius (Nov. 21 - Dec. 21), so broaden your horizons! (And to learn about the astrology poster: https://www.tha-elegant-universe.com.) . 5:14 – Venus at 14.19 Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus in the wee hours (2:41 am PDT). Venus in Scorpio can get so focused on what it wants that it can overlook other, promising possibilities. But the opposition to Uranus awakens us to other opportunities in relationships or finances that we might otherwise have missed. Create space in your life for new things, and a little breathing room in your relationships. . 8:20 – Venus and Uranus remind us that the Lunar Nodes move into the Scorpio/Taurus axis early next year, and our opening eclipse in those signs is the Nov. 19 Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. We cover these in our donors-only special Equinox episode – donate just $5 to receive access to it, as well as the December Solstice episode! https://www.bigskyastropod.com . 8:54 – MOONWATCH! Today, the Moon enters Taurus at 5:38 am PDT, and it's time to take things slower and easier. Moods are a little more stable when the Moon is in Taurus. But the Moon's square to Saturn (7:40 pm PDT) and conjunction to Uranus (9:56 am PDT), trigger the underlying tension of the ongoing Saturn/Uranus square. Which brings us to… . 11:11 – A timely question from listener Birgitta about how long the Saturn/Uranus square will be plaguing influencing us? These titans meet each other in three exact aspects this year, on Feb. 17, June 14, and Dec. 24. But in Oct. 2022, Saturn stations direct within a hair's breadth of square with Uranus. So throughout most of 2022, we can expect more clashes between regulation/rules and the breaking rules/recreating societal structures. . 13:10 – For more thoughts on the Saturn/Uranus squares, revisit Ep. 69, Saturn and Uranus: That escalated quickly! https://www.bigskyastrology.com/episode-69/

We hasten to add that Libra also lives up to its reputation of loving peace, harmony, and puppies as well. Especially puppies. . 9:53 – Relationships, ruled by Libra, also benefit from the airing of disagreements. And kittens! . 10:34 – More about the Libra Equinox season in our special donor-only episode! Donate just $5 to get access to it! https://www.bigskyastropod.com . 10:49 – Now it's really Moonwatch! The Moon is still in Aries today. Be cautious of heeding an offer represented by the Sun sextile Jupiter at 4:42 pm, because the Moon square Pluto at 5:37 pm PDT suggests there might be something under the surface that could be uncomfortable. . 11:53 – The Moon is void-of-course as of 7:04 pm PDT. (Revisit Ep. 23, Talking Taurus and the Void of Course Moon https://www.bigskyastrology.com/episode-23/ for more on that subject.) . 12:32 – Summing up today, it's about the polarity of the Sun entering Libra and the Moon in Aries, and how we might have to fight for peace, and air disagreements in order to have a solid collaboration with someone.

Read a full transcript of this episode: https://www.bigskyastrology.com/transcript-ep-95/ 0:30 – We celebrate Tuesday: Mars Day! (And to learn about the astrology poster: https://www.tha-elegant-universe.com.) . 5:38 – ** Moonwatch!** Today the Moon is in Aries. The Moon's sign and aspects symbolize the rhythm, pace, and mood of the day. In Aries, we want to do things quickly! It's a good day for doing something new, since Aries is a pioneer and likes a challenge – especially since the Moon opposes Mars (4:02 am PDT). . 7:34 – April reeks of Mars (but her progressed Sun is in Libra)! . 7:46 – Eerily similar voicemail questions from listeners Elliott (points for spelling!) and Joe, who wonder what it means when the transiting Sun is moving through the sign of one's Moon and/or Ascendant. April offers some thoughts! . 10:46 – The Sun transiting over your Ascendant (once each year) is like your second birthday! The Ascendant is the beginning of the chart, and the Sun there is like sunrise in your birth chart. When the Sun is in this sign, put the spotlight on yourself. . 11:57 – The Sun connecting with your natal Moon is a little more uncomfortable. The Moon wants quiet, comfort, and seclusion, and the Sun crossing over your Moon shines a bright light on your most private places. . 14:07 – The Sun brings recognition and joy, but when it first crosses over, a fierce spotlight is focused on some area of your chart, making you notice things so you can attend to them. . 15:15 – Leave messages at SpeakPipe for future episodes! https://www.speakpipe.com/bigskyastrologypodcast

Sing along with our full 1980s playlist: https://bit.ly/3fHbbKY. . 04:33 – The Sun conjoins the North Node (May 31), a signal that we’re in the heart of eclipse season. Saturn now supports and rewards the work we did at the May 3 Sun/Saturn square. This aspect can rein in Venus/Jupiter excesses. Appropriately, April finds Saturn all too exhausting to talk about. . 19:06 – Mercury made its first of three squares to Neptune on May 22. This week brings the second square (June 5); it will make a third on July 6. Three chances to cut through the fog. Plus, a recap of Mercury’s current retrograde season. . 21:25 - Mars/Pluto came together in March 2020 as the pandemic emerged; as Mars opposes Pluto (June 5, at 27.27 Cancer/Capricorn), we can now see where we’re at. Mars in Cancer hesitates to go on the offensive, but can get pinchy when cornered. It’s tough to beat Pluto, though! Mars in Cancer is ruled by the Moon in Aries today, though, and won’t give in without a fight (but don’t go looking for one). In Gemini season, we find joy through communication, getting a change of scenery, enjoying our neighborhoods, and talking to siblings, among other things. . 26:42 – The Sun barely enters Gemini when it squares Jupiter at 00.46 Pisces (May 21). Did they swap Sabian symbols? The Sun is on, “A glass bottomed boat in still water,” and Jupiter is on, “A public market.” This aspect encourages us to do more and expand our horizons, but think twice before taking on new obligations – Jupiter tends to overdo things. (This is the opening square from a cycle that began January 28, 2021. Lend your ears to Episode 66, Leo Full Moon: Dinner and Bingo! for more.) . 29:42 – How to say this? Mercury, at 22.53 Gemini, squares Neptune in Pisces (May 22/23). This can indicate a struggle to express what’s inexpressible… we’re at a loss for what else to say…

Episode links: 00:30 – One of us wore high-tops of different colors in 1981 – who can it be now? Surely it was a lovely day as we wore our shoulder pads, feeling like geniuses of love, and singing at the top of our lungs, “Don’t stand so close to me!” (To enjoy all of our favorites from the 80s, check out our YouTube playlist! And if you’d like to tell us about your own favorite tunes from 1981, leave a comment at the website!) . 04:44 – Be curious! Mercury conjuncts the Lunar North Node (May 10) at 10.45 Gemini, on the Sabian symbol, “A new path of realism in experience.” It’s a good time for reading, writing, journaling, being open-minded, and letting go of thinking we know everything. (Review the Gemini/Sagittarius nodal polarity in Episode 24, Scorpio Full Moon & Lunar Nodes for Grasshoppers. And learn more about the nodes in Episode 5, Unboxing Eclipses!) . 07:57 – This week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our non-imaginary sponsor: Victoria Pendragon! Check out her personal natal chart paintings! . 09:52 – **MOONWATCH ** There’s a New Moon at 21.17 Taurus this week (May 11)! This NM is on the symbol, “A white dove over troubled waters,” which references peace, overcoming troubles, and offering resolutions! As always, this kicks off a 2.5-year lunar phase family and in 9 months, we will see the opening act of a story that is beginning now around Taurus themes of security, confidence, well-being, finances, and self-worth. What story is starting for you? What do you value? . 12:27 – The compacted soil gets some air: This New Moon is ruled by Venus in Gemini. It’s a great time for intention-setting – write it down! . 15:08 – Eclipse season will soon be here: Sign up for April’s free eclipse webinar! (Eclipses often signal a change that you didn’t see coming. Want to learn about how the eclipses impact your personal birth chart? You can find April’s exclusive Followed by a Moonshadow Eclipse report on her website! It’s a goodie!) . 16:29 – Mars in Cancer sextiles Uranus at 11.19 Taurus (May 11). If you experienced sudden changes back in January (when the planet of action joined up with the planet of surprises), especially related to work, this week may bring a lead or opportunity to move in a new work direction. (Revisit Episode 65, Mars, Uranus, and Revisiting the US Pluto Return for more on that conjunction.) . 19:05 – Buckle down! Mercury, at 13.25 Gemini, trines Saturn in Aquarius (May 12). The planet of communication is on the symbol, “A conversation by telepathy.” The school principal of the zodiac is on, “A train entering a tunnel.” This is a great time for mental focus! . 20:28 – Time to float: The Sun, at 22.41 Taurus, sextiles Neptune in Pisces (May 12). This continues a cycle that began March 10th (listen to Episode 72, Pisces New Moon: Kitchen Cats and Angular Houses for more). Neptune is on the Sabian symbol, “A Spiritist Phenomena.” This planetary combo offers us a branch, as the unseen parts of life are grounded in reality. We’re getting our sea legs! . 22:31 – It’s story time: Why mention when the planets first met up? A narrative unfolds, and it always starts when two planets meet. We revisit this narrative over and over throughout a period of weeks, months, or years, depending on the two planets involved! . 23:20 – Is it a whale or a fish? Jupiter enters Pisces (May 13 - July 28)! This is an 11-week sneak preview of coming attractions (when Jupiter enters Pisces “for real” on Dec. 28, 2021). The planet of abundance makes it to 2.11 Pisces and then turns retrograde on June 20; it continues backwards and re-enters Aquarius July 28. It will go all the way back to 22.19 Aquarius and then turns direct on October 17. . 24:08 – Jupiter has a 12-year cycle and spends roughly a year in each sign. It was previously in Pisces from Jan. 17, 2010 – June 5, 2010 and also from Sep. 8, 2010 – Jan. 22, 2011. What was happening in your life then? . 24:41 – Jupiter represents optimism and broadening our horizons. It is where we want to grow and experience new things and take chances! In Pisces, we want to feel life has meaning, and that we are growing spirituality. Pay attention to what themes come up for you over this 11-week period! What inspires you? What’s your dream? Are you feeling this whale of a planet? (Wondering what Jupiter in Pisces means for you? Book a reading with April!) . 28:17 – Hi, friends! Episode links: 00:30 – The Sun, Mercury, and Mars all change signs, so moods and style of behavior are all shifting, too! But remember that this translation is our interpretation – take what feels right and leave the rest (as always)! . 02:22 – Mercury and the Sun both enter Taurus (April 19). Our style of communicating becomes slower and more thoughtful, and energy and inspiration come from communing with the physical world. (To hear about Venus’s entry into Taurus, review Episode 77, The Crescent Moon & Getting our Ducks in a Row.) . 08:11 – This week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our non-imaginary sponsor: Victoria Pendragon! Check out her personal natal chart paintings! . 10:26 – **MOONWATCH ** We have a Leo First Quarter Moon (FQM) this week (April 19)! The Moon is on the Sabian symbol for 1 Leo, “A case of apoplexy.” The Sun is on 1 Taurus, “A clear mountain stream.” Perhaps this is a warning about getting upset and going over the top? But we’re also reminded to relax and pause for refreshment! Leo symbolizes creative expression, and this FQM is connected to the New Moon at 29 Cancer from July 20, 2020 (Episode 35, A Second Cancer New Moon, and Savoring the Sun in Leo). What were you wishing you had more time to do last summer? What is your path with heart? . 13:00 – This FQM opposes/squares the point where Jupiter and Saturn conjoined, which was a big deal! (Episode 61, The Great Conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn: We Feel Bloated!) Do you have anything around 0° of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius)? This might be a moment of awareness regarding what that conjunction meant for you – as time passes, these themes are revealed. And because that meet-up was at 0°, it can take time for the unfolding story to exhibit itself in your life. . 14:55 – Venus joins up with Uranus at 10.13 Taurus (April 22/23) on the symbol, “A woman sprinkling flowers.” This combination can bring unexpected pleasures, unexpected income or expenditures, or there may be new developments in relationships. . 16:36 – Mercury copies Venus and also meets with Uranus at 10.18 Taurus (April 23/24). The planet of communication – together with the planet of break-ups/breakdowns/break-throughs – can bring flashes of inspiration, ideas for improving practical challenges, and radical or shocking speech. . 17:32 – Mars leaves his scissors behind, and swims into Cancer (April 23)! In the sign of the crab, the planet of action tends to defend loved ones, or there may be themes of family battles. Folks may seem a little more prickly, defensive, and a slightly more frustrated. Helpful hint: When problems arise, it might be worthwhile to take a step back, and see if there is a more strategic way to work through issues. . 20:40 – Venus makes a square to Saturn at 12.52 Aquarius (April 24/25) on the Sabian symbol for 13 Taurus, “A man handling baggage.” There’s no such thing as a free lunch! And perhaps this symbol is saying: If we want to have good relationships, we’ll need to “handle our baggage.” (This opening square is linked to the conjunction from Feb. 5, 2021. Listen to Episode 67, Venus Joins a Crowded Aquarius Party for more on that.) . 22:09 – Mercury, at nearly the same degree (12.53 Taurus), squares Saturn as well and finishes the Saturn work that Venus started (April 25). Communicating is key, and this could be a good time to deal with difficult conversations, complete a written project, study for an exam, or prepare for an important meeting. . 22:41 – Later that day, Mercury catches up to Venus at 13.47 Taurus (April 25) on the odd symbol, “Shellfish groping and children playing,” which of course makes us think of a certain kitty named Toby! Mercury coming together with Venus is a good moment to improve communication. . 24:34 – Mercury first joined up with Saturn on Jan. 9, 2021, so go back to Episode 63, Mars Enters Taurus (And There Was Much Rejoicing!) and think about what was happening for you then. (And hey, while you’re at it, it would probably be wise to review  Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly!, since the ginormous Saturn/Uranus square is getting triggered this week.) . 26:50 – If you’d like to support the show (at no cost to you!) please give us lots of stars, subscribe or follow, and/or leave a happy review – here’s how! This episode is made possible by donors MARTISA REGISTER, NICKY BONNER, and CELESTE BROOKS! Thank you, Martisa, Nicky, and Celeste for contributing to our Podathon! April and Jen plunge themselves into a full week, with creative activities getting a boost from the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter – as long as Pluto decides our efforts are sincere. Venus enters Taurus, a reminder to stop and smell the roses (but keep an eye out for a few Saturn/Uranus thorns). This week’s lack of a major lunar phase to sing about makes room for a mini-lesson on the Crescent Moon! And finally, Jupiter rewards at least some of our Mars-in-Gemini projects. Plus: Are we counting the weeks until we can start talking about specific 80s songs? Why yes, yes we are! Three to go! Wondering how to find meaning in the patterns of your life? Book a reading with April! Sign up for April's mailing list for updates, a free monthly lunar workbook, AND an email tutorial on the Lunar Phases! Do check out April’s fantastic book The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology! (Psst! Oprah likes it, too!) And don’t forget to forage through our podcast archives – plenty of learning opportunities in each and every episode! . 03:15 – The Sun, at 24.14 Aries, sextiles Mars in Gemini (April 13). The Sun represents selfhood and heart, and Mars is how we get things done. In this case, the heart is made visible through our work. (Review Episode 16, Let's Talk about Sextiles for more on this aspect.) . 05:00 – Then the Sun sextiles Jupiter at 25.56 Aquarius (April 15). The Sun is on the Sabian symbol, “A man possessed of more gifts than he can hold.” Jupiter sits on, “A hydrometer.” Are you doing too much? Just because you can do everything doesn’t mean you have to! . 06:03 – The Sun continues on and squares Pluto at 26.46 Capricorn (April 16). While the Sun is about self, Pluto is about the communal experience and what serves the greater good. We might find ourselves pushing to believe in ourselves this week. (Hint: Often, the best way to regain confidence is to confront a difficult challenge.) Pluto is on the symbol, “A mountain pilgrimage” (which we discuss in last week’s Episode 76, Aries New Moon: An 8-Track Mind). . 08:39 – Remember, squares and oppositions (hard aspects) often force us to take action (whether we want to or not). We may or may not notice trines and sextiles (soft aspects), and we often have a choice about responding (or not). . 10:40 – Venus enters Taurus (April 14 - May 8)! Venus represents what we want, our values, and our relationships. In Taurus, we may feel more patient for what we want, and we may find ourselves enjoying the pleasures of the good life. . 12:27 – Head’s up! Venus will make a conjunction with Uranus and square to Saturn next week, so this Venus in Taurus may bring unexpected financial/relationship developments. (And let’s not forget that Saturn and Uranus are in a square all year! Here’s a great one to listen to: Episode 69, Saturn and Uranus: That Escalated Quickly!) And, if you have planets between 9°-12° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius… you’re probably feeling the squeeze, podpals. . 16:28 – Mars, at 26.12 Gemini, trines Jupiter in Aquarius (April 16). While Mars has been in the sign of the twins, the drive to learn more and explore different options has been at the forefront. It’s possible that now we will see some rewards! Yay! . 19:13 – This week’s Moonwatch segment is brought to you by our newest non-imaginary sponsor: Victoria Pendragon! Check out her personal natal chart paintings! (Note: V's new site is all set up!) . 22:37 – **MOONWATCH ** This week we welcome the Crescent Moon at 11.28 Gemini (Apr. 15, 10:57 pm – Apr. 19, 11:59 pm PDT)! The Crescent Moon begins when the Moon makes a semisquare aspect (45°) to the Sun; in this case, the Sun is at 26.28 Aries. This is the moment in the lunar cycle when something often captures our interest. The Moon sits on the Sabian symbol, “A slave girl demands her rights of her mistress,” which speaks to standing up for yourself, or appreciating someone who does. (Check out Episode 74, Libra Full Moon: Go Fly a Kite! for more on that symbol, or learn more about the lunar phases in Episode 34, The 8 Lunar Phases: Have Them with a Salad!) Don’t forget to sign up for April's mailing list to get her free Moon tutorial! . 27:13 – Mercury is busy on the 17th!! The planet of communication is at 27° Aries, and first sextiles Jupiter in Aquarius (9:00 am PDT), then sextiles Mars in Gemini (12:09 pm PDT), and finally squares Pluto in Capricorn (2:49 pm PDT). The sextiles represent opportunities being presented to us, but we are likely to feel the square the most because we may be presented with a problem we are forced to untangle. . 29:56 – Cazimi! Mercury joins up with the Sun at 29.14 Aries (April 18) on the symbol, “A duck pond and its brood.” Time to get your ducks in a row! (And here are some NASA skywatching tips.) . 31:04 – Here’s your refresher on what it means when a planet is at the last degree (29°) of a sign! We also covered planets at 0 and 29 degrees in Episode 15, Venus + Pie: 0-29 Degrees of Separation. . 34:37 – Hi, friends! If you’d like to support the show (at no cost to you!) please give us lots of stars, subscribe or follow, and/or leave a happy review – here’s how! This episode is made possible by donors ANNIE YAKUTIS, JACINTA ARMSTRONG, and MARINA VASILIC! Thank you, Annie, Jacinta, and Marina for contributing to our Podathon!
