This week, Venus teams up with Saturn and both make inspiring connections with the Moon's North Node. The normally mellow Taurus New Moon is disrupted by power struggles, as the Sun squares, and Mars opposes, Pluto. And (appropriately) a listener question about scary Pluto transits. Timestamps [1:12] Saturn conjuncts the North Node (April 21, 4:31 am PDT) at 26°50' Pisces, on Sabian symbol 27 Pisces, A Harvest Moon. This is the first conjunction between Saturn and the North Node since September 2013. You might succeed in a way that you have envisioned and hoped for, but sometimes the success comes in a form you never could have imagined. [2:28] Venus conjuncts the North Node (April 23, 9:35 pm PDT) at 26°54' Pisces. This transit can indicate that close friends or partners are helping you achieve success. [3:00] The Sun squares Pluto (April 23, 10:10 am PDT) at 3º47' Taurus-Aquarius. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold; Pluto is on 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer. Claim your importance, and let go of anything that you no longer need. [5:26] Venus conjuncts Saturn (April 24, 5:02 pm PDT) at 27°13' Pisces, on Sabian symbol 28 Pisces, A fertile garden under the Full Moon. This concludes a Venus-Saturn series that began on Jan. 18 and repeated on April 7. Are you any clearer about what you want in relationships and in the way you earn your money? [7:53] Mars opposes Pluto (April 26, 6:05 pm PDT) at 3º48' Leo-Aquarius. The usual interpretation of Mars with Pluto has to do with power struggles and dealing with forces beyond your control. What matters most in these situations is how you handle powerlessness, anger, and frustration. Mars' Sabian symbol, 4 Leo, is A man formally dressed and a deer with its horns folded. Pluto's Sabian symbol is sometimes written as, A Hindu Yogi demonstrates his healing powers. [10:18] Moon Report! The Taurus New Moon is on April 27 (12:31 pm PDT), at 7º46' Taurus. The Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus, so this is one of the most powerful New Moons of the year. But the Mars-Pluto opposition makes this a little more of a tumultuous New Moon. Taurus is ruled by Venus, so enjoy the sensual aspects of life. The Sabian symbol for this New Moon degree is 8 Taurus, A sleigh without snow. [13:29] This New Moon begins a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that unfolds over the next three years. Make a careful note of what your intentions are, what you would like to achieve in your physical health, financial abundance, and sense of security. Jan. 25, 2026 is the First Quarter Moon (first action point) of this LPFC, the Full Moon (awareness point) is on Oct. 25, 2026, the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on July 26, 2027. [15:34] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On April 22 (2:55 pm PDT), the Moon in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus. It's VOC for 7 hours 12 minutes, then enters Pisces (10:07 pm PDT). Step out of your safety zone to do things on your own. [16:40] On April 24 (7:57 pm PDT), the Moon in Pisces conjoins Venus. It's VOC for 4 hours 27 minutes, then enters Aries on April 25 (12:24 am PDT). Enjoy all of the Venusian things life has to offer, but don't go overboard. [18:11] On April 26 (9:18 am PDT), the Moon in Aries sextiles Jupiter. The Moon is VOC for 14 hours 59 minutes (!!!), then enters Taurus on April 27 (12:17 am PDT). Share the good things that come your way and offer encouraging words to other people. [19:18] Listener Pomahoba asks about scary Pluto transits. This week, Mercury enters Aries and Mars enters Leeeeeeooooo; a very intense Aquarius Last Quarter Moon; the Sun enters the lush, tranquil pastures of Taurus, but the peace is interrupted when Mars charges into the field. Since it's such a busy week, April will forego answering a listener question, but that segment returns next week, so send your questions to april (at) bigskyastrology (dot) com and put “Podcast Question” in the subject line. Timestamps [1:45] Mercury enters Aries (April 15, 11:25 pm PDT) and will be in this sign until May 10. Mercury in Aries is excellent for dealing with situations that require quick decisions, decisiveness, and the courage to speak your mind. [4:17] Mercury conjoins Neptune (April 16, 9:11 pm PDT) at 00º38' Aries. Great for translating visions into a form that others can understand. Neptune is also associated with escapism, and lends sensitivity to other people and to content that you consume. [6:48] Mars moves into glamorous Leo on April 17 (9:21 pm PDT). Mars previously went into Leo on Nov. 3, 2024, eventually turned retrograde and entered Cancer on Jan. 6, where it's been ever since. It will be in Leo until June 17. Promote yourself and your ideas, and revisit any projects that you started back in late 2024. [9:06] The Sun enters Taurus (April 19, 12:56 pm PDT, through May 20). Count your blessings, contemplate what is needed for stability, pleasure, and abundance. [11:30] Mars trines Neptune (April 19, 3:53 pm PDT) at 00°44' Leo-Aries. Help the disadvantaged, cheer the despondent, incorporate spiritual and artistic influences. Help others, not just yourself. [13:25] Venus, the planetary ruler of Taurus, sextiles Uranus (April 20, 11:20 am PDT) at 25º45' Pisces-Taurus. This is the last of three sextile aspects between Venus-Uranus (the others were Jan. 26, April 7). In any kind of relationship, it's important to have freedom, our own friends, interests, and money. [15:36] Mercury sextiles Pluto on April 20 (2:39 pm PDT) at 3º46' Aries-Aquarius. Channel the intense mental energy of this combination into constructive, healing, and empowering activities. [17:30] The Sun squares Mars (April 20, 6:34 pm PDT) at 1º12' Taurus-Leo. This can be motivating, but tempers might be flaring. Try not to take things personally and hold grudges. The Sun's Sabian symbol at this square is 2 Taurus, An electrical storm, Mars is on 2 Leo, An epidemic of mumps. [20:11] Moon Report! The Aquarius Last Quarter Moon (April 20, 6:36 pm PDT) is at 1º12' Aquarius-Taurus, on Sabian symbols 2 Aquarius, An unexpected thunderstorm and 2 Taurus, An electrical storm. This is a highly charged and energetic Last Quarter Moon, marked by this T-square between the Moon and Pluto in Aquarius, Mars in Leo, and the Sun in Taurus. T-squares are motivating, but they can also be quite frustrating. Last Quarter Moons push us to complete the goals of the previous New Moon, in this case the Aries Solar Eclipse on March 29. [24:09] This is the Last Quarter (final action point) in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began with a New Moon on Jan. 21, 2023, at 1º32' Aquarius. The First Quarter (first action point) in this LPFC was on Oct. 21, 2023, and the Full Moon (awareness point) was on July 21, 2024. [26:08] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On April 15 (7:24 pm PDT), the Moon in Scorpio trines Mercury in Pisces. It's VOC for just 13 minutes, and then enters Sagittarius (7:37 pm PDT). Take this very short VOC Moon period to initiate a habit of saying good things to yourself and to others. [27:34] On April 18 (4:38 am PDT), the Moon in Sagittarius trines the Sun in Aries. It's VOC for 2 hours, 34 minutes, then enters Capricorn (7:12 am PDT). Have fun and laugh, even in trying times. [28:34] On oh, so busy April 20 (10:21 am PDT), the Moon in Capricorn sextiles Saturn. It's VOC for 6 hours, 0 minutes, and then enters Aquarius (4:21 pm PDT). Use this VOC Moon to get in the habit of getting done what needs to get done before allowing yourself some time to play. The biggest lessons I learn in life,Have to do with my heart. They teach me to care, be fair, and share,Very carefully from the start.☉Come join me in Africa! https://bit.ly/into-the-wild-2025With both the Sun conjunct Chiron (in Aries ruled Mars) and Venus conjunct Saturn, you can bet that the lessons these days (and there are many) center around our relationships. As I discuss in this report, this is an important week in that Venus, who has been going retrograde since March 1st, descending into the underworld, symbolizes a time for us to dig deep down without our hearts and "die" or strip away any and all false notions, beliefs, or realities. That she "bumps" into Saturn during her death/rebirth indicates an even greater purge, until finally, we have the Sabian symbol of "PURIFICATION" at the degree of her station! On the same day as the full Moon with the Sun conjunct Chiron (opposite the Moon)! We are getting the italics, the underline, and big, bold letters saying, "Put your relationships in order!" and that involves some deep reflection before the conversation. As I also mentioned in the report, this can have to do with your personal values and/or money. As we can see on the global stage with the tariffs and trade wars, the whole collective is going through an analysis of what it is needing, wanting, making, and trading and needing to ask the question, "Is it worth it?"I believe this weekend can be a beautiful time of sharing sensitive moments, conversation, and caring. With sympathy for ourselves and each other, we can create safe spaces for opening our hearts, sharing our needs and fears, and, with some grace, find a deeper spiritual connection with those we love. It's time to raise the bar on our relationships, which means opening up and going deeper with those who care and of the same heartmind and leaving behind those who don't get us anymore, despite how old or deep the relationship was/is. Either way, we can be experiencing a time of emptiness and sorrow, either for what we have done or not done, or what we are being called to let go of in order to move on. Just remember there's no hurry, as class isn't over until the last breath."Well the first days are the hardest days don't you worry anymore. Cuz when life looks like easy street there is danger at your door. Think this through with me, let me know your mind, wo ho what I want to know is are you kind."This week's song is Uncle John's Band! https://youtu.be/Qj8Q3o2J4A4?si=uBZYiQlyPeX3R3u0So Much Love,Kaypacha☉

[6:03] Venus sextiles Uranus (April 7, 9:48 PM PDT) at 25°05' Pisces-Taurus. A rebellious Venus, and if you get too wild, Venus's conjunction to Saturn guarantees that there will be consequences. A motivating transit, especially for more financial freedom, but more financial volatility as well. [7:54] Mercury conjoins the North Node (April 10, 6:01 PM PDT) at 27º23' Pisces. This clarity perfectly times with the Libra Full Moon on April 12th illuminating relationship dynamics and calling for balance between self-assertion and compromise. With Venus also stationing direct that day, relationships gain momentum after weeks of reevaluation. The month accelerates dramatically mid-April with Mars entering Leo (April 18th), unleashing passionate, confident energy after months in emotionally cautious Cancer. [3:26] On March 25 (3:02 pm PDT), Mercury sextiles Pluto at 3º27' Aries-Aquarius. Mercury with Pluto can reveal harsh truths and may lead to negativity. [22:04] Neptune enters Aries (March 30, 4:58 am PDT) for the first time since 1861-1875. It entered Aries that time on April 12, 1861, and history buffs will recall this as the day that the American Civil War began, fueled by extreme idealistic differences. “Idealistic” is a Neptune word, and “war” is an Aries word. This is a year unlike any other, With everything shifting around. Like the eye of a storm I can stay still, And observe as it all goes down.☉Ha, let's see if you can! You may be tempted to tell somebody to go jump in the lake (or river in this case), but that may be better advice for yourself! Venus and Mercury, both in the masculine sign of Aries, are square by sign to Mars in the feminine sign of Cancer. The two Sabian symbols for the upcoming first quarter square Moon in Gemini are totally relevant, aren't they? While Mercury conjunct Venus is interpreted as pleasant conversations, Mars in Cancer with the Sun coming up to Saturn may turn some of these conversations upside down. The main point, I believe, is that this is all OK, totally par for the course. The fact is that we are coming to the end of our rope, so to speak, individually and collectively, and a lot of consequences are coming up, as well as the need for some very important decisions. This creates pressure. However, as the stars are telling us, it's not over yet, there is more digging to do, more feeling, more realization needed to make these big moves/changes. We've got five more weeks (at least) to swirl around in the waters of our emotional past to process and fully take our deepest needs into account before jumping to premature conclusions/actions.So, this is a time to scream, yell, shout, and let it out like the woman activist in the first Sabian symbol, but let's not stop there. Like a painter throwing colors onto a canvas, we can observe ourselves, once externalized, like the youth changing into a mature thinker (the second Sabian symbol). Once our fiery Aries desires are felt, brought out into the open, put on the table, and looked at, not only will we be relieved, but we may very well find solutions that would never have occurred to us had we not.Through all these stormy emotional days, let's remember where to find joy, excitement, and fun! Jupiter in Gemini curiously wants to learn, talk, write, journal, travel, and GET OUT AND ABOUT. Retrograde Venus wants to rebel against the conventional, old, "standard" forms of relationship and mix it up. Maybe everything is designed to kick us out of our old, well worn ruts (as comfortable and secure as they may be) into new, better expressions of ourselves. Let's experiment! Feel like you are "Spinning Wheels?" https://youtu.be/kK62tfoCmuQ?si=BrWm-e2ec1iS0tz1So Much Love,Kaypacha

It's Die Hard in a police station! This week, hosts Phil and Liam are locked into a high-stakes discussion on The Negotiator - the 1998 action-thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey in a battle of wits, words, and tactical mind games! When he becomes inveigled in a corruption scandal involving suspected embezzlement of the Chicago P.D. pension's fund, expert hostage negotiator Danny Roman (Samuel L. Jackson) decides to turn the tables and takes hostages at the Internal Affairs bureau, in an effort to find the truth and clear his name. Sensing that he has enemies in his own midst, Roman demands that the only negotiator he will speak to be Chris Sabian (Kevin Spacey), a mysterious stranger from an entirely different district. But can Sabian be trusted? And how do you negotiate your way out when everyone assumes you are the real villain? In this tightly wound pressure-cooker thriller, we break down how The Negotiator cleverly inverts the Die Hard formula - putting the good guy in control of the siege, with a besieged skyscraper, hostages, FBI interference, and a whole lot of air shaft action! We explore the film's copious Die Hard DNA, from over-the-radio showdowns and ill-fated SWAT assaults to computer hacking, power shutdowns, and even a debate about old Western movies between the two adversaries! We also highlight the killer supporting cast, the film's “Glengarry with Guns” energy, and why F. Gary Gray deserves more love! Plus, we dig into the importance of the Chicago setting and discuss how the film channels The Fugitive with its “wrongly accused” narrative - shoutout to Andrew Davis! Chicago forever! My ego is like AI, Getting more powerful everyday, It's up to me as a soul-spirit being, To keep it from going astray. ☉ This is a week that will be extremely "good," or extremely "bad," with sudden, perhaps shocking communications that the cosmos/life is bringing to wake us up to our unconscious patterns. As I discuss in today's report and as described in the Sabian symbol for today's first quarter square Moon, these communications will serve to make us more aware of, use, direct, and control our ego will forces more consciously. Uranus/Aquarius is not known for his/its gentleness or subtlety. The best thing we can do is use astrology and our charts to see where and how these energies are working for us so as not to be too surprised or overwhelmed. If we are proactive enough and sincerely ask ourselves if we are using our power appropriately for the good of all concerned or if self-interest and opportunism has been making our decisions, we can make changes before changes are forced on us from external, projected powers that be. Looking at it from a positive standpoint, this is a week of "raising the bar" in all our relationships, whether intimate and personal or friendship/working. This Sun/Mercury conjunction is happening in Aquarius which is all about the future, plans, visions, and enterprises. Projects can move along faster and smoother when everything is on the table, and transparency reigns, making greater cooperation possible and leading to better outcomes. Rather than following in the footsteps of so many nations fostering self-interest and isolationist policies that create competition and make life harder for everyone, let's co-create ways to support each other and make our lives easier! I finally decided this week's song is "You Shouldn't Have Took More Than You Gave (we wouldn't be in this mess today)!!!" https://youtu.be/qthR7ezI9bA?si=Aw4AQB5ZP0DrRvN0 So Much Love, Kaypacha

Having the difficult conversation, Is uncomfortable at its best. But it is worth the grief if we release, And let go of the past at last. ☉ Weigh anchor! Yup! Time to leave port and set sail! This is a new Moon solar eclipse that is saying goodbye to the past (south Moon's node), the buried resentments, anger, and frustration (Black Moon Lilith), and making way for clearer communication and understanding that will inevitably lead to deeper, richer, and more fulfilling relationships. That is if we do the work, dig, and don't leave the buried “treasure” buried! I just love the Sabian symbol for Jupiter stationing to go retrograde at the same degree from 9/25 - 10/23. It speaks of music, dancing, and natural living. These are the keys! When in doubt, fear, or sadness, the great earth mother and sky father are always there to hold, support, renew, and enliven us. As sons and daughters of these two we are human, and as humans we are sensitive, frail, wild, and impulsive. These times remind us to embrace our humanity, not be ashamed, hide and bury it, but let it out so we can move on to dance! Blow off some steam as you rev your engines and move some energy!
