John 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. There's a pointed contrast in this statement by the Holy Spirit through the apostle John. When the Word of God was given through Moses, grace and truth did not come into being. That's the idea conveyed in the word translated as "realized.” The Greek root word is similar to our English words genesis or generate. So the idea is that the Law had a flaw. It could not enable one to see or understand both grace and truth. The Law does manifest the truth, but there's no place for grace in its administration. Many people feel that way about Christianity. They see it as a bunch of do's and don'ts, which fails to give one an understanding of God's grace. If you think living to love with Jesus is a law or a standard that you have to live up to in your own strength to be accepted by God, then you don't really know Jesus. He revealed what James called the royal law or the law of liberty (2:8, 12). When Jesus came, He didn't replace the truth in the Law; He fulfilled it with grace, thus grace and truth are realized through Him. Having His life in us, we love the truth. We love what He loves, which is righteousness. Heb. 1:9 says, “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.” Because Jesus lives in us, He gives us the desire and the power to love, and it's not burdensome to us. We see the truth in God's Word given to us through Jesus, and we receive the grace to walk in it through Jesus. So we live to love with Jesus because grace and truth are realized through Him. Do you get it? Maybe we can see grace and truth more clearly when we read about the New Covenant God made with His people through Jesus. Hebrews 8:10 says, “I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.” Do you realize the grace and truth revealed through Jesus Christ? He doesn't throw away the Law. He writes it on our hearts and puts it into our minds. That's both grace and truth. As we live to love with Jesus, we are demonstrating the reality of John's declaration about Jesus in this verse—grace and truth are realized through Jesus Christ. We fulfill our destiny. We become what we were made for—imagers of God—through Jesus Christ. I invite you to become a partner in our ministry. Would you pray about becoming a regular supporter of Elijah Ministries and the Live to Love with Jesus ministry? I hope you will receive the joy and benefit of “giving it forward,” so others may be encouraged to turn their hearts to God and live to love with Jesus. Unlock the profound depths of what it means to be crafted in the image of God as we dissect an idea central to our very existence. Together, we shed light on the intrinsic qualities that reflect God's likeness, from our capacity for intelligence to our moral compass and spiritual awareness. This episode is not only a journey through philosophical insights but also a clarion call to embrace the stewardship entrusted to us by our Creator. We clarify the oft-misunderstood notion that bearing God's image is less about physical resemblance and more about the roles we play in nurturing society, civilization, and the environment.Support the show
Romans 5 is the central Original Sin prooftext so today we're going to dig in and look at what it says. As we mentioned in our first episode Augustine used Romans 5:12 as the cornerstone text for his doctrine of concupiscence, original sin, and infant depravity. First we need to set the context of Romans before we exegete the text. Context of Romans Romans is a pastoral (Shepherding) letter that does contain theology. The theology in the letter is to service Paul's purpose in the Roman church (Lived theology and a lived gospel). Summary and connections to Original Sin in Romans 1-4 As we have seen the narrative is that Jesus is the truly faithful Human and Jew. Because of his faithfulness and our faith in him we are reconciled to God and to our vocation as Imagers. (All have sinned and missed that Mark). · There are a lot of connections and allusions to Adam and the image of God but it never says anything about transferred guilt but Romans 1 actually shows how God's wrath (“handing over”) leads to death just like in Eden. · Romans 2 says that pagan gentiles can do the things of the Law instinctively though they do not have it. This goes against total depravity. · All HAVE sinned (become sinners) they are not born sinners. But a better way to take this is that both Jews and Gentiles have gone off course from God's original plan in the garden. · All of these arguments are to show how Jews and Gentiles are on an equal plain and need to come to unity in Jesus to truly live out the kingdom in their church. Romans 5:12-21 All of Romans 5:12-21 is a contrast of 2 ways- Adam or Jesus… the way of life or the way of death: o We saw that the thing Adam brought was death through his sin o We do not inherit Adam's sin but we are born into mortality o We become sinners when we sin and Adam introduced these systems of sin into the world by our expulsion from Eden o Sin and Death are seen as Powers that enslave us. We all need saving from death and from sin o Jesus defeats these Powers as the 2nd Adam and brings life. o The entire narrative of Romans up to Romans 5 is about “glory”- the image of God. The purpose of this life is for the purpose of being conformed to his image (Romans 8) o We can walk this way through the life of the Spirit Original sin? o Where is original sin and total depravity here? It is completely absent! o The only way you can get there is through reading Romans out of context. o We see that death is the focus and the thing that needs to be dealt with in order to get to the restoration of glory! Original Context: o The pastoral context of Romans is not just about some abstract theologies of original sin and total depravity, or a road to individual salvation (Romans road). o Paul exhorting the Roman house churches to live out the way of Jesus in unity instead of the divisions of the Weak and the Strong. He wants them to be conformed into Christ's image and live out the gospel under Jesus' kingship- GLORY and GLORIFICATION. o This message is also for us today- Choose the Life and Way of Christ and live in it (the Truth)! _________ Visit www.expedition44.com for posted articles and more. In today's study, we take up where we left off last Friday concerning whether there are other gods or not. We discuss what Paul taught concerning this, and it led us back to Genesis and how we are made in the image of God. We also talk about the Divine Council of God and how it was similar to what was found at Ugarit. We then looked at how these council members have some kind of say in the affairs of life, such as the watchers of Daniel. We spoke about the total plan of God for all people to become believers and therefore enter sonship under the Father. We believe this episode will be one you certainly don't want to miss, so please join us for a treat today!

Social media and our current western culture all have on thing in common - they are the image makers for countless people, young and old, male and female who long to be someone else, somehwere else, anything but the nagging dispostion of being in their own skin. The Good News introduced by Jesus Christ is that there is a better option than tailoring our own image and likeness: He opened the door to return to the original plan of living with the image and likeness of our heavely Father.
Redundant Apodized Pupils RAP for high-contrast imagers robust to segmentation-due aberrations and island effects by Lucie Leboulleux et al. on Tuesday 13 September The imaging and characterization of a larger range of exoplanets, down to young Jupiters and exo-Earths will require accessing very high contrasts at small angular separations with an increased robustness to aberrations, three constraints that drive current instrumentation development. This goal relies on efficient coronagraphs set up on extremely large diameter telescopes such as the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT), the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), or the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). However, they tend to be subject to specific aberrations that drastically deteriorate the coronagraph performance: their primary mirror segmentation implies phasing errors or even missing segments, and the size of the telescope imposes large spiders, generating low-wind effect as already observed on the Very Large Telescope (VLT)/SPHERE instrument or at the Subaru telescope, or adaptive-optics-due petaling, studied in simulations in the ELT case. The ongoing development of coronagraphs has then to take into account their sensitivity to such errors. We propose an innovative method to generate coronagraphs robust to primary mirror phasing errors and low-wind and adaptive-optics-due petaling effect. This method is based on the apodization of the segment or petal instead of the entire pupil, this apodization being then repeated to mimic the pupil redundancy. We validate this so-called Redundant Apodized Pupil (RAP) method on a James Webb Space Telescope-like pupil composed of 18 hexagonal segments segments to align, and on the VLT architecture in the case of residual low-wind effect. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2209.05857v1

Imagers of God live with purpose. We live with meaning. We live with hope unlike those of the world live. Be careful whose table you sit at and get comfortable, because therein lies your loyalty. At the same time, we have to be careful to understand that Jesus was continuously accused of eating at the table with sinners. But, Jesus didn't eat with them to join their position in life; He ate with them so they could begin eating with Him!

God created humans to image His glory, His care for them, His love for them, and His relationship with them. When God made all things as we know them, He singled out humans from all of Creation and said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…” (Gen. 1:26 NIV). What does that really mean?

“What makes people valuable above all other created things is our ability to bear God's image.”In this message, Pastor Sean Reed explains the importance of being an image-bearer of God. Created in the image of God, every human should be cherished regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, intellectual capacity or cognitive ability. As Christians, we need to be on the front lines of protection for every image-bearer of God, especially those who cannot fight for themselves.

Welcome to Day 1511 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.I am Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomA Family of Imagers Part 3 – Worldview WednesdayWisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. Today is Day 1511 of our Trek, and it is Worldview Wednesday. Creating a Biblical Worldview is essential to have a proper perspective on today's current events. To establish a Biblical Worldview, you must have a proper understanding of God and His Word. This week, we will finish our study based on a course I completed taught by Dr. Michael Heiser on our Worldview Wednesday episode. Our study is titled “Sons and Daughters of God: The Believer's Identity, Calling, and Destiny” Throughout this multi-week course, we have demonstrated that, in the Old Testament, “sons of God” and “holy ones” refers to supernatural beings whose Father is God and who work with God to carry out His will and that this divine family was present before humanity. By fully engaging with biblical texts such as Psalm 82; Psalm 89, and Deuteronomy 32:8–9, our study showed that this divine family functions as a template for God's human family. God desires of humans, as His imagers, to participate in His council. This study addressed issues such as polytheism, the nature of the (little ‘g') “gods,” and Yahweh's uniqueness. This study applies insights to the New Testament texts and shows how the metaphor of being in God's family informs our sense of identity and mission as believers. A Family of Imagers· Segment 30: Believers as Family, Participants - 3 Introduction Hebrews 2 is a bit more of an obtuse example of the kinds of things we're talking about because Hebrews' language tends to be kind of complicated, but it's a pretty powerful one. So I wanted to include it because this section of Hebrews is, I think, especially telling when it comes to these family relationships and bringing things full circle, being presented to God as the fulfillment of the original plan. Family Members in the Divine CouncilWe read in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews+2%3A10-12&version=NLT (Hebrews 2:10-12), God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation. So now, Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. For he said to God, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” Family Members Sharing the Same StatusNow, look at the language here. We have a scene where the writer is talking about Jesus. God is in the picture, and we have this “son” language; we have sibling language here (“brothers and sisters”). The scene is amazing because here we have Jesus introducing God, as it were: “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.” What're the assembled people? Among your assembled people?; It is in the throne room of God; it is in the presence of all who have gone before. The whole cloud of witnesses' idea is something that Dr. Heiser mentioned in the Unseen Realm. The notion of a “cloud of witnesses” goes back to divine council language by ratifying treaties and agreements and covenants and guarantees. So we have believers who have gone before members of the council now; they have become grafted in. As normal human beings, fallen but redeemed, and

A Family of Imagers· Segment 28: Believers as Family, Participants - 2 Introduction 1 John 3https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+John+3%3A1-2&version=NLT (1 John 3:1-2) is perhaps the key passage to tying these ideas together, and I've alluded to it several times already. John writes, See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him. Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. Grafted Back into the FamilyNow, in one sense, every human being is a child of God. Paul alludes to that in his sermon in Acts 17. God is our common creator. We understand that, but John is talking about something different here, especially post-fall. Family Means ParticipationWe have to be grafted back into the family, and the family, of course, includes this idea of participation, being in concert with God's will, and helping God carry out His will. It's a different kind of relationship, but I think the kind of things we've been talking about here helps us understand John's language instead of what Paul says in Acts 17 a little bit. Because unless you're a believer, you're not going to be able to be working in concert with God—again carrying out His will, participating in His program. That was the original intent. It wasn't just to have humans there on earth back in Genesis 1. As soon as God created us, the idea was to be with Him. We were to be united with Him and His blended family. His divine family that already existed, and together with His earthly family to be in this place where heaven had come to earth. Heaven intersects with the earth in Eden to overspread even across the planet to be working as one, one unit, one business—whatever metaphor helps here—to be working together toward a common goal. Jesus Restores...

This study will apply insights to the New Testament texts and show how the metaphor of being in God's family informs our sense of identity and mission as believers. A Family of Imagers· Segment 28: Believers as Family, Participants - 1 Introduction There are several statements about Jesus in the New Testament. There are also several references about us as His sibling, because of the incarnation. These references build on the family language of the Old Testament “sons of God,” the divine family idea, specifically as it relates to representing God, that is to say, imaging God. Christ as “Image of God” Intentionally Links to Genesis For instance, in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+4%3A4&version=NLT (2 Corinthians 4:4), we read that “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” Now, we know from the Old Testament that we are spoken of in the same language. If you were a person reading this or hearing this from Paul or the mouth of some other apostle, you would immediately think back to the concept (that scene in Genesis 1) where humanity is created in God's image or, as we've suggested, as God's imager. Here, you have Christ called “the image of God.” He is, think about it, the ultimate human. He becomes man. He is incarnate as a human being, and He is here to do many things, but one of them is to show us what God is like—to be God in the Father's stead, as it were. Of course, Jesus alludes to this several times in His own ministry, but this language, again, is intentional. As we fix our minds on the fact that Jesus is the ultimate imager, the ultimate example of this, the ultimate template, when the language shifts to believers, that's going to make sense; it's going to take our minds back to Genesis and help us to process these things because they have a long history that goes all the way back to the beginning. Conforming to Christ In https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians+1%3A15&version=NLT (Colossians 1:15), it says, “Christ is the visible

Panel: Caleb Martin Micah Arndt Nelson Miller Summary Our episode today is our very first recording ever. The panel today features Caleb Martin, Micah Arndt, and Nelson Miller. Our goal today is to give you some background into what this podcast is all about and share some of our vision for what God is calling us to do. We invite you to join us for this introduction and catch a glimpse of some of things weighing on our hearts. What Is God’s Imagers Podcast? God’s Imagers is a community hosted multimedia platform by and for Christian men and women throughout the world. In each episode, we explore the amazing story of the Bible and learn what it means to live in the image, priesthood, and kingdom of God. Where Did the Name God’s Imagers Come From? As we study of the Kingdom of God we find that it keeps coming back to the Image of God. This was inspired by a term Micheal Heiser mentioned in his book “The Unseen Realm” when he referred to representatives of God as God’s Imagers. Nelson immediately knew that was the name for the podcast! Why Start This Podcast? Each member shares the reasons they feel interested in this ministry. What Will the Podcast Format Be Like? Format The format for these episodes consists of audio podcasts, video, and written articles. Each of these formats can be found here on our website within each episode. Some may or may not have video, but all will have audio and blog posts. Our Goals and Vision We believe a rich (and potentially new) understanding of God’s kingdom will give us the correct worldview we need to live like priests and kings in the image of God. It is time to take this role seriously! Here are our goals: Understand the story of the Bible as a whole leading to Jesus Get to know and worship God with unfiltered worldview lenses Teach the wonderful truths and intricacies of God’s Word faithfully Facilitate growth in individuals, families, and churches Learn how to live out our role of representatives of God Who Will Be On Future Podcasts? We hope to have guests on every podcast. We have some scheduled all of whom God is using in a very special way sin his Kingdom. Some are very well known within various conservative Anabaptist circles, while others who may not be as well known. We do have several speakers scheduled and planned, but we cannot say their names quite yet. We strongly encourage you to submit suggestions for speakers to us on our website. Series: The Lost Essentials - The Supernatural Storyline in Scripture March 10, 2019 Why is there evil in the world? If God is perfect and knew humans would rebel against him, why did He give them free will? In this sermon Pastor Sebastiaan van Wessem explains how rebellion came to existence and why that is important to know.
Series: The Lost Essentials - The Supernatural Storyline in Scripture March 3, 2019 Did you know that as humans we are Gods representatives - or ‘imagers’ - in this world? God shares His rule with His divine and human family. Jesus is the ultimate imager of God. In this sermon Pastor John Wyatt shares with us what this calling as human imagers of God in this world means.
People give all kinds of explanations as to what it means to be made "in the image of God"—often saying the image is our intelligence. But that's not what the original language of the Bible is trying to say to us. Being made in the image of God is not just an adjective, in fact, it may be better understood as verb. Jamin explains more at a youth retreat and relates to how Jesus is the clearest example of the image of God we've ever been given.

Abstract: The physical limit for the number of pixels per color channel per frame in an optical imager is approximately equal to the aperture area in square microns. While this limit is essentially achieved in megapixel scale cell phone cameras, the limit of 100 megapixels for cm apertures, 10 gigapixels for 10 cm apertures and 1 terapixel for meter apertures is far beyond current practice. These pixel counts may be further increased by factors of 100-10,000 in spectral and 3-D imagers. At the physical limit, a practical imager may easily deliver >1 terapixel per second. Imagers that scale to the physical limit must overcome challenges in the design of lenses, electronic focal planes and image processing units. This talk reviews efforts to overcome these challenges through the DARPA AWARE program. We specifically discuss the construction of a compact 5 gigapixel camera and we discuss implications for such cameras in online and broadcast media. Presented Thursday, October 4, 2012.
