Some memories don't fade… they drift around in your head like cigarette smoke in a downtown Michigan elevator from 1958. In this wonderfully rambling and heartfelt episode of The Daily Grateful with Michael Crose, Michael takes listeners on a funny, nostalgic ride back to Battle Creek, Michigan — where mysterious towers held imaginary Wolverines, abandoned mansions hid crank-up record players, and childhood adventures somehow felt bigger than life itself.Along the way, there's crystal kitty litter powerful enough to fuel the Starship Enterprise, stories about Tyler's sold-out one-man show, old downtown movie theaters, Kellogg family legends, and the strange realization that the places we come from eventually start feeling more like dreams than actual memories.Warm, quirky, reflective, and laugh-out-loud funny in all the right places, this episode reminds us that gratitude often hides inside the weird little moments we never expected to remember forever.Pull up a chair, grab a green Gatorade Zero, and come wander through memory lane with Michael Crose.#TheDailyGrateful #MichaelCrose #MichiganMemories #BattleCreek #StorytellingPodcast #BabyBoomerStories #GratitudePodcast #OldFlorida #Nostalgia #FunnyPodcast #PodcastLife #BoomerHumor #LifeStories #DailyPodcast #WarmAndFunny

In this episode of The Daily Grateful with Michael Crose, we celebrate the little victories that quietly hold life together. From clogged dishwashers and paper plate dinners to getting pulled over by a deputy who let Michael off with a warning, this episode is packed with funny stories, honest moments, and surprisingly powerful reminders about resilience.Michael talks about why emotional survival isn't built on giant milestones — it's built on tiny wins. The small problems that didn't become disasters. The stressful days that somehow worked out okay. The unexpected lessons hidden inside frustrating moments. There's also a touching reflection on loss, gratitude, and a life-changing question inspired by motivational legend Tony Robbins: “What's good about this?”Warm, witty, deeply human, and occasionally ridiculous, this episode reminds us that peace, stability, and getting through the day without total catastrophe deserve a little more celebration.#TheDailyGrateful #MichaelCrose #GratitudePodcast #TinyVictories #PositiveMindset #LifeLessons #BoomerPodcast #MentalWellness #Resilience #DailyGrateful

A forgotten nightstand drawer sends Michael Crose down a rabbit hole of business cards from the eighties, memories of people long gone, and a burning question: whatever happened to Wyatt Cox? Turns out Wyatt is alive, well, and running a tiny radio station in Ely, Nevada — so far from civilization that a trip to Walmart is an hour-long expedition. When that station went dark for a few days due to a mechanical failure, locals were driving to the building in a panic. That's not a dead medium, folks. That's community. Michael also takes us back to the glorious chaos of getting a Switch 56 line installed at his house, convincing the phone company he was laundering money for a drug cartel, and the legendary engineer known only as Blinky. It's a love letter to radio, old friends, and the magical weirdness of a life spent behind a microphone.#TheDailyGrateful #MichaelCrose #Radio #OldFriends #Podcasting #RadioHistory #LocalRadio #Storytelling #Nostalgia #BehindTheMic

Welcome to another gloriously weird episode of The Daily Grateful with Michael Crose — where midweek reflections collide with cats, cardboard boxes, Earl Pitts memories, broken Roku boxes, and the eternal mystery of why Radio Shack had to disappear. In this laugh-out-loud episode, Michael takes a hilarious stroll through the middle of the week and reminds us that gratitude doesn't have to be serious to be meaningful. One minute he's channeling old-school radio legend Earl Pitts, the next he's celebrating dinner with his favorite ex-wife at Cheddar's in Largo, Florida. Somewhere in between? A battle with mischievous cats, Walmart bookshelf hunting, unfinished to-do lists, and an unexpected rant about those weird medical test boxes that show up in the mail. But underneath the comedy and chaos is a surprisingly powerful reminder: stopping in the middle of the week to appreciate progress, people, and even small victories can completely reset your mindset. If you've ever laughed at your own stress, forgotten why you walked into Walmart, or found joy in the little things, this episode is absolutely for you.Smile more. Hello, my name is Michael Crose. Today I am taking part, along with a thousand or so other of my fellow podcasters, in what we call #PodcastBlackout. Instead of normal programming today, we're going to talk about the murder of George Floyd. But before we do that, listen, if you will, to anti-racism activist, Jane Elliott, as she addresses an audience that was absolutely filled with white people. Jane Elliott: I want every white person in this room who would be happy to be treated as this society in general treats our citizens, our black citizens. If you, as a white person would be happy to receive the same treatment that our black citizens do in this society, please stand. You didn't understand the directions. If you white folks want to be treated the way blacks are in this society, stand. Nobody's standing here. That says very plainly that you know what's happening, you know you don't want it for you. I want to know why you're so willing to accept it or to allow it to happen for others.
