Walter el Nagar is a passionate Chef with a multicultural background and a strong desire to make not only a culinary mark but a social one as well. In this podcast, Walter describes his passion for creative culinary arts and his professional path across the globe. Walter was born in Milan in 1981 to an Egyptian father and Italian mother, both of whom are restaurateurs. Known for his creative flair and self-taught culinary skills, Walter embarked on a transformative journey in 2008 when he traveled to Los Angeles and discovered his love for Latin American cuisine. This experience inspired him to establish his own restaurant, 'The Barbershop.' In 2016, Walter embarked on an enriching one-year culinary world tour, discovering the flavors of Barcelona, Ibiza, Moscow, Tulum, and ultimately Singapore. It was during this journey that he introduced his innovative pop-up restaurant concept, inspired by his experiences in Los Angeles. After a brief stint in Dubai, he felt the need to find a permanent home, and in 2017, he came to Geneva. Taking up the position of Head Chef at the renowned 'Fiskebar' restaurant in the Hôtel de la Paix, Walter soon realized his vision went beyond culinary excellence. To prove his commitment to social issues, he founded his own restaurant, 'Le Cinquième Jour,' in Geneva. This unique establishment embraced a powerful concept of social inclusion – the kitchen brigade dedicated Saturdays to cooking for those in need, including disadvantaged individuals, refugees, the homeless, and vulnerable teenagers. This concept continues with his new restaurant, Refettorio in Geneva. Driven by his unwavering dedication to both gastronomy and social impact, Walter established Fondazione Mater in 2020. As the founder and executive director, he continues to merge his culinary expertise with a strong sense of purpose, creating initiatives that make a positive difference in our society.

Send us a textA two-pronged episode based on complimentary requests. You could summarize this episode by asking the question: why is it so hard to freakin be happy when you have good shit happening in your life? What you'll hear:Part I:I just landed a contract I have spent the last two years dreaming about and I don't know how to process/deal with it. It feels like 'in the future' got here so quickly that I haven't caught up with myself yet and i keep swinging between "this isn't happening' 'they must have confused me with someone else" and "*confused static noises* -HelenWhat happens after your dreams come true? Why do we procrastinate on doing things we actually want to do? 12:30The Neverending Story: sacred text Auryn really called it. 13:51The real reason we procrastinate 15:30Brene Brown's quote about shame: “If you put shame in a petri dish and cover it with judgment, silence, and secrecy, you've created the perfect environment for shame to grow until it makes its way into every corner and crevice of your life. If, on the other hand, you put shame in a petri dish and douse it with empathy, shame loses its power and begins to wither. Empathy creates a hostile environment for shame—an environment it can't survive in, because shame needs you to believe you're alone and it's just you.” Brené Brown, Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tommy and Ben discuss the seismic shift in US foreign policy that happened this past week after Trump announced that the US and Russia would directly negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine through talks that exclude Ukraine and Europe. They also explain how JD Vance's first foreign trip insulted nearly every leader in Europe while boosting Germany's far-right AfD party ahead of Germany's election this Sunday, how support for a crypto scam has become a major political liability for the president of Argentina, the continued fallout from USAID cuts, the latest on the Gaza ceasefire, and intelligence leaks about a potential Israeli military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. Then, Ben speaks to Max Seddon, Moscow Bureau Chief for the Financial Times, about how the flip flop in US foreign policy towards Russia is being greeted by the Kremlin.

Wilma Nielsen, the Swedish mid-distance phenom from Oregon, joins the show today to discuss her recent breakthroughs in running. Wilma is fresh off breaking the school record in the mile in January at the Dr. Sander Scorcher indoor meet at the Armory in New York. This six-second PR places her number three all time in the NCAA for the indoor mile and number two on Sweden's all-time indoor list. Wilma is a two-time All-American and three-time Swedish National Champion. She won the bronze medal at the European U23 Championships in Estonia where she ran a 2:02.29 in the 800m. Wilma has run collegiately for Bradley University, the University of Washington and now Oregon. Wilma was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. She has a twin sister, Julia–who was a package deal with her at Bradley–as well as older siblings Simon and Elisabeth, the latter of who was a Swedish National Championship finalist in the 800m in 2019 and 2020. Needless to say, running was a fixture in the Nielsen household. Wilma was running fast even in her high school days, logging PRs of 58.19 in the 400m, 2:10.01 in the 800m and 4:31.59 in the 1,500m. Since she started running collegiately, she has lowered those to 57.50 in the 400m, 2:02.26 in the 800m, 4:07.38 in the 1500m and the aforementioned 4:25.89 mile. In today's conversation, Wilma dives into her recent 4:25 Mile, her plans to do bigger and better things at the Millrose games, her hopes for her future, how she's grown as an athlete while at Oregon, what it's like to have Shalane Flanagan as a coach, and so much more. Take the time to learn from and get insights from one of the biggest stars in the NCAA right now! Tap into the Wilma Nielsen Special. Garth Heckman TDAgiantslayer@Gmail.com The David Alliance Joseph had the coat of many colors…. It meant so much. But what did his brothers do? They dipped into GOATS blood to signify his death. There's gotta be blood. Jesus died to redeem your vision for your life. He sets up the perfect grid: you are the fathers favorite. You get a dream. I have redeemed it for you. You will be tested to bring you into favor with man and intimacy with me (God) and you will receive a new coat of authority. …But Joseph got another coat from Potiphar (Gen. 42:41, 42) It symbolized his dream. One of power, authority and prestige- but he had it all taken from him by a false accusation, a woman of desire and lust… I wonder if he thought, well that was my run. Not bad, but now its back to slavery for me… Obviously he hung on to the dream God gave him. But Joseph was actually helping Potiphar achieve his dream, his cause at least. That can happen to us… I think Joe would have been ok with that - but God had greater plans. . Family will be jealous of your dream and purpose V. 24. They threw him into a well that was empty. No water… Water signifies life. This is a precursor of Jesus being thrown into the grave and he died. V. 31 They kill a goat. This is before the understanding of sacrifices… but God knew that there has to be a sacrifice for the benefits to be paid for. Jesus was our sacrifice for the benefits he provided for our purpose/vision/Goals Chp. 39 V.12 She grabbed his robe - this was Potiphar's blessing on him. He ran from it. He would rather honor God and forfeit any blessing from a man then from God. He loses his “position”. V.23 He still prospers in prison. No matter what the world throws at you, if you continue to trust God with your PGV you will be blessed.
The early years… Josephs father Jacob was a manipulator, Joe came from a family of 4 moms, 13 boys, His grandfather Laban was a sheister/manipulator. His brothers Simeon and Levi killed an entire village, his oldest brother Reuben slept with his fathers concubine… Jacob openly loved Joe more than the others. The women in the house did not like each other… wonder wonder!!! When Benjamin was born His mother Rachel died and everything just got worse. Equation Passions, skills, talents, gifting + Godly choices + his purpose = an unstoppable PGV. But he was given a dream - 2 actually. BUT THE DREAM WAS NOT THAT HE WOULD BE THE SECOND IN COMMAND OF THE WHOLE WORLD… Gen. 37 - His father says go check on your brothers… I believe Dad recognized Joes leadership and integrity! V. 2 He is a young man of integrity. He tells his father that his brothers are up to no good. When you see their hearts you can imagine that they really are scoundrels. V. 3 Dad loved Joseph more than the others. He gave him a coat. What did it resemble? PARENTS SOW THAT INTO YOUR KIDS! DREAMS, EXPECTATIONS, VSIONS. SPEAK INTO THEM. The coat represented: all of Gods attributes, You hold a special place of authority it signifies his position of favor in the family and signifies he will receive the greatest inheritance.

Watch out for negative self-talk, and fears that can sabotage you before you even start. Bronnie Ware is an Australian nurse who spent several years working in palliative care, recording her patient's epiphanies. Here were the top five wishes of those patients: The wish that they had the courage to live a life true to them self, not the life others expected of them. The wish that they had not worked so hard. 2025.01.12 - When Dreams Come True by Emmanuel Baptist Church
It's time to stop leaving your dreams when you're sleeping and start living them when you're awake. Get out a notebook and some paper, pull out your pen, get out your notes app because we're going give you a few things that's going to help you wake up and live your dreams. Let me give you one premise: If you want to enlarge your success, you need to shrink your vision. That might not sound like what every guru says when you're scrolling through social media, and that's why you can't listen to every guru. So if you've been discouraged, lack clarity, I want you to listen to me. I believe your harvest is waiting for you. Are you ready to live your dreams? Let's go!
