For the first time EVER, the guys from Pie Factory are back with discussion on the games you see in the title of this episode. A couple of shooty-powy games. One from the earth, one from the water. (They’re trying to get shooty-powy games from the other two ancient elements, too; patience, friends, patience.) If … Continue reading Episode 138: Front Line and SubRoc-3D →

So. For the last episode in 2018, I reviewed a video game-related movie (Megaforce). This year, I fully intended to do that again, but after playing the game "Revenge of the Beefsteak Tomatoes", I decided instead to go with one of its inspirations, the 1978 disaster parody "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". It's a...comedy?....about ordinary tomatoes that mutate and go aroud killing people. Also, there's the San Diego Chicken. And a song about puberty. Yep. I couldn't keep all this fun for myself. Sean and Jim from the "Pie Factory" podcast are in the studio to talk about the movie too! Don't worry, I unlocked the door and let them out when it was over. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks to Kevin McLeod at Incompetech.com for creative commons use of his songs "Take a Chance", "Pinball Spring" and "Reformat". Thanks to Mike Mann for the "Mad Mike Hughes" theme. I just flew in from Milwaukee and boy are my arms tired.* *I didn't actually fly. I drove.** **My arms are fine. Thanks for asking. I just came back from the 2018 Midwest Gaming Classic where I had a great time at the Atari Bytes table talking to current listeners and lots of potential new listeners. If you are one of those new listeners, welcome to the party! I also picked up some great new games from the various vendors selling their wares, played some great arcade games and met a slew of well-known gaming people from the guys at the "Guys, Games and Beer" podcast to legends Billy Mitchell and Walter Day, and from game designers like Jeff Lee to Brian Colin. This was my first time at MGC and the "Pie Factory" guys, Jim and Sean, were invaluable to making my experience awesome. Thanks, guys! On episode 117, I talk about my time at MGC. AND...I read some of the "mad lib" style stories visitors to the AB table at MGC wrote for me. One lucky writer might win an ATARI BYTES t-shirt, like the one I wore at MGC. (Not the SAME shirt, mind you. That would be gross.) WHO WILL IT BE?????? Thanks to Kevin McLeod at Incompetech.com for creative commons use of his songs "Take a Chance", "Pinball Spring" and "Reformat". For our very first (!!) episode of Table of Life we're hanging out in the kitchen of Logan Niles, founder of Pot Pie Factory. We'll hear Logan's inspiring story as a foodpreneur, all about her beautifully culturally diverse upbringing, and cook some Paleo Pork & Root Vegetable Chili! Hi! My name is Chef Kirsten Helle Sandoval, I'm the founder of Mesa de Vida. (www.MesadeVida.com) I have been a private chef for professional athletes, on the Food Network, the cover of Womans Day Magazine and am now the CEO of a food & lifestyle brand. I set out to create a healthy new family legacy after becoming a mom in my mid 20’s, accidentally lost over 100 pounds, and I can honestly say that healthy food changed my life and it has completely changed the course of my journey. Food is nourishment but it also is the cornerstone for nurturing family, culture, community and tradition. The table is where LIFE HAPPENS, memories are made, stories are shared, values are passed on, and the place where many friendships are forged. I want to share the stories of women in food that inspire me; healthy cooking tips and recipes; journey’s through health, wellness and a glimpse into the life of a foodpreneur and/or mompreneurs. Most importantly I want to extend a seat at our table to you, so pull up a chair and join us! If you’d like to watch the live stream recordings of these podcasts, see the recipe action, and more, head to Facebook.com/MesadeVida and click on videos. Also, I record these sessions every Thursday and would love to have you join in live to ask questions and be part of the conversation! Since these sessions are recorded live, you’re going to the sizzling, popping and sometimes the fizzing of the bubbles as we make mimosas. So – let’s dig in to deliciousness at the Table of Life!
